Diner Reviews
  • "A very nice looking restaurant, food and service is at it best. only thing i didn't like is the light level, somehow I felt it's too dark. otherwise overall a very good restaurant. "

  • "This was our first visit and we loved it! Music was great and our waiter was very attentive and made our visit great. Appetizers and drinks were very yummy. Three our of the four in our group had great meals. One in the party ordered scallops which left much to be desired. All in all we'll be back though."

  • "Great venue for locals and impressing out of town guests. Creative menu from tapas to full plates - our table of four included a vegan, a gluten free, a picky foodie and a "nothing fancy" type. All of us were happy! Vegan and gluten free offerings clearly marked on menu, soups and salads were flavorful and served with time to finish before next course. We loved both soups - lobster bisque and tortilla soup (that guest said it was the best they'd ever had) - salads were excellent; my scallop dinner plate was initially disappointingly sparse (3 large scallops with tablespoon of cabbage/bacon under each) but sooo tasty I would order again. Desserts were excellent (gluten free option.) wine list well planned. "

  • "Great food, very upscale menu. Service was very attentive & timely. Atmosphere, decor, entertainment; all very upscale. Music (live band) was perfect. Looking forward to a return evening. "

  • "everything you could possibly wish for in one place. i took my wife out for her birthday, and we had a great table with a perfect view of the stage. a very good jazz band was playing, and the wait staff was friendly and attractive. overall a great night. the price is appropriate for upscale dining and date night, and the cheesecake is to die for."

  • "This was a great choice for my big dinner for my bachelorette party with my closest friends. Our waiter was amazing, the food was delicious and the overall setting was great. They definitely know how to make a bachelorette party group feel loved!"

  • "What a great evening! We were in town from AZ celebrating our son's birthday and went to Sambuca at his request. Will definitely be going back on future visits to Nashville! The music, the ambience, the food, the service...all top notch. There is no shortage of good restaurants in the Phoenix area which we are used to, but the music and "nightclub" feel of this place elevated Sambuca to another level. Loved it, will be back!"

  • "Food was very good. Nice bar and restaurant has a sort of speakeasy, jazz club vibe going. The band the night we went was outstanding while playing at a reasonable so we could carry on a nice conversation throughout. Will return in a heartbeat next time I'm in Nashville."

  • "The service was great and the band was very refreshing. The food wasn't to die for however the presentation was tasteful and showed attention to detail. I ordered the calamari and the oil was light with out an after taste. The chef did very well. The other plus side is the parking was inexpensive and the valets were courteous."

  • "Sambuca was a great place to dine. It was clean, modern, and had great food. The decor in the place is spot on for the mood. It seems upscale but still not that bad for the price. I opted to eat in the sky loft so I can see downtown and have natural light rather than be downstairs with the live band. The service was great until it started getting crowded. Once the big party came upstairs, I felt like like my little party of 3 people got pushed to the side. Our dinner came out very fast, but took triple the time for dessert BC of the bigger party even though I had been there an hour already. Overall though, this was a great experience and would definitely dine here again."

  • "I reserved a table a few weeks ago for my sister's bachelorette party. I was a bit nervous because it is quite fancy that it would not be as exciting of a venue as we would like. Wrong. It ended up being a fabulous time - we were sat next to the stage and it was perfect! The Blues singer Stacy was fun and outgoing and really got the crowd involved. I was able to orchestrate an invisible limbo contest and several tables and groups got involved as well. Very entertaining. The scallops were incredible: perfectly cooked. The service was also exceptional- friendly and complimentary! Overall, my group and I loved out experience there!"

  • "We really enjoyed this restaurant. I was looking for a place to have an excellent meal while listening to music and I found it! The group performing that night was a very talented singer with three back up instruments. I had assumed the music would be country, but it was more cabaret style and was delightful. The singer fully engaged with the audience, asked for suggestions and even came over to our table and introduced herself. Our waiter was very personable and terrific as well. Oh, and yes, the meal was absolutely wonderful. A great evening!"

  • "This was my first date out with my new friend and it was magnificent. We had a great time. The restaurant was live and energetic. The decor was very beautiful and our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. He gave us great recommendations for appetizers and drinks."

  • "Made reservation for me and my loves 8th anniversary and couldn't be happier, everything about this place was spot on, she was very impressed with our night out, the food was soo good, we had both the red snapper plates, and duck for the appetizer, I highly recommend anyone try this place. The music added a real nice vibe as well,"

  • "Family seniors, (everyone over 50), helped me celebrate my 60th birthday. This restaurant was my choice and was told throughout the night what a great choice I had made! The food was excellent, the band was awesome. What a great way to spend any evening. I even got a free dessert of my choice, creme brulee, of course."

  • "We had a party of 6,4 of the 6 did not like their food. I had mine boxed up immediately ( I did not want to fuss about it in the presence of my guest). I will not recommend Sambuca for a dining experience!. The ambiance was good. The music bu the D'martinis Band was excellent."

  • "We were seated upstairs on the bridge.....views were great but it was so loud you couldn't hear anyone at your table! If they put area rugs on the floor that would probably help absorb some of the sound."

  • "While in Nashville you have to enjoy the music & this restaurant has it! The food is great here also. Menu is split into tapa sized or full size plates. Started with mozarella & prosciutto beignets...yum! Next had the Caesar salad. Main course for me was grilled salmon oscar...excellent! Reason I gave 4 stars for food was my wife's pork chop was over cooked making it a bit tough. What makes Sambucc fun is the live band. Lead singer has a voice. Even brought up a lady from 2006 American Idol Top 20...oh yes she was really good! Enjoy!"

  • "Steak was prepared to perfection and Fish (cajun spiced) dishes were excellent. Spinach salad was very tasty. For dessert we ordered a chocolate cake (without gluten). Perfect! Music was great. Break was a little long. Service was very good and server was helpful in making recommendations."

  • "I've been to Sambucca on a couple of occasions and have yet to be disappointed. The live music is always on point and the food is even better. This last time, Michael, our server, couldn't have been better. You definitely get what you pay for. I highly recommend for a romantic night out or even a fun group event."

  • "My boyfriend and I went to Sambuca for my 21st birthday dinner. We had been once before 3 years ago for our highschool prom. Both times were amazing. My two first legal drinks were amazing and our waitress recommended them both. She was so nice and really made my experience amazing. The live band was fantastic and they even wished me a happy birthday. The food was delicious, I don't even think delicious is a strong enough word. The experience, the food, the ambiance, the service was all just fantastic. I would recommend Sambuca for parties, celebrations, or a nice night out on the town. I will definitely be back again and very soon."

  • "My husband and I were looking for a romantic place with great food to celebrate our 5 year anniversary...we found that and more at Sambuca! The ambiance is so romantic and sexy, the food was amazing! I was unsure of what to expect when I saw there would be a rock band playing, but boy, were we in for a treat! If you've never heard of The Chris Weaver Band, you are missing out! His voice is gritty but smooth, not too crazy and loud, and it felt like we paid for dinner AND a show! Such an entertaining and fun night! I would recommend this place anyday!"

  • "This was my wife and my first time at this restaurant. We came to Nashville for our anniversary and we were absolutely blown away by the service and the quality of the food. The live music started at 7pm and it was a little overwhelming at times. I am glad we got there at 6pm and finished our meal and conversations prior to the music starting. Over all our meal was around $100 but for the food quality and the service we received it was well worth it. I will definitely be recommending Sambuca to all of our friends!"

  • "Really nice , food great, entertainment fit for nice restaurant"

  • "Salad was drenched in dressing. Tater Tots lukewarm and not as good as I remembered them at all. Green beans had no flavor. Samosa' s were good as well as the hummus trio. For our bill to be 270.00 we were disappointed. Too loud. Want to hear music but have dinner conversation also. Balance."

  • "Jason our server was nice & helpful but items on menu didn't match what was delivered to the table (i.e.: margarita shrimp covered in peppers & onions; potato side with steak overpoweringly seasoned). While we all appreciated the live music, it made it very difficult to talk with our friends. We spent about $250 and felt like we ate "bar food" in a loud bar, not restaurant quality dishes."

  • "The entertainment lin up is great. However, I believe that it would be even more attractive if a larger dance area was available. They advertise dancing, but only have enough room for three couples. They could easlly remove the four tables for two that are located directly in front of the stage and this would triple the size of the dance area. Based on the several times that I have visited SAMBUCA, these four tables are definitely despensable and may even increase the volumn for the other tables."

  • "Had higher expectations. Very limited menu. The waiter seemed disinterested though the food did arrive quickly. We were told this restaurant was more traditional Italian. It was far from traditional. The prices for food were reasonable but like most other restaurants they clip you on the alcohol."
    Dined on 2/23/2014
  • "Good music and fun atmosphere but I asked for about 4 drinks from the bar after being turned down the 4th time bc they didn't carry an extensive cider and beer list I gave up and settled on wine. I got the champagne chicken I thought the food was ok. It sounded way better on the menu than the food actually tasted. I would go bAck but more for drinks apps and the band rather than a nice dinner. On a plus note they advertise gluten free options clearly on there menu and it's nice having options."

  • "Had a lot of fun at Sambuca in Nashville. Food was just okay but ambience and music was great. Would return"

  • "My wife likes it because there are no children, but other than that the place is just average. It was my second trip to this restaurant. The food taste fine and the service is OK. The only complaint I have is the fillet size of the striped bass. I could have picked any creek in TN and managed to catch a fish that size on any given Saturday. For the money I think I will be looking for another restraunt to take my wife to."

  • "The food was amazing, service was great and the live entertainment added something very special to the place. Great wine list and I have been telling everyone about it since we left the place. Will be back again when I am in Nashville for sure."

  • "Very willing to fit my wheelchair in an open spot. Great service from a new waitress that started that week. Music not to loud."
    Dined on 2/19/2014
  • "Sambuca is attractive for several reasons: 1. The menu includes about a dozen 'small plates' that are perfect for sharing. The same is true of the side dishes. These are gems. For a party of 4 or more these become like a Tapas Bar selection. 2. The wine prices are reasonable ranging from about 150% to 200% of retail (many restaurants are 200% or more). 3. The live music is always excellent and usually starts are 7:00. However, if you want your setting quieter, request upstairs seating."

  • "my boyfriend and I decided to go to this restaurant for an early valentines dinner hoping to beat the crowd and noise. We loved the food and wine here but the restaurant is very loud, which is ok if you are going to hear the live music. The music was very good too but we were hoping to go and be able to talk. Also if you go as a party of two they seat you at a small table and my back was to the performers. I would go back just not as two people but as a larger group, it was def a fun atmosphere!"
