  • "Great atmosphere and service. Food was average but pricey. Enjoyed the live music. Not a great choice if you want to hear the table conversation."

  • "Sambuca restaurant is an absolute on my list when visiting Nashville. ALWAYS offers talented musical artists. Great food, great wine & a great atmosphere."

  • "Great service, the red snapper was phenomenal. We had our 7 yr old in tow and they grilled a small salmon for her with fruit with no complaint."

  • "The food was nasty. Also, I ordered a special birthday shout out from the band, and they didn't even do it, but they did it for someone else that night. I was extremely dissappointed about that. It is too dark in the restaurant to see what you're eating. Aside from that, the atmosphere is awesome and the live music was awesome!"

  • "Fantastic service (by Robby!) and the food was not only delicious, it was presented nicely in a timely fashion!!! My guests felt the same and we will definitely return!"

  • "We tried Sambuca during a recent girls' nights. The band was great and not too loud. The food was great. We ordered several different small meals and shared them. The artichokes with goat cheese and the beignets were our favorites. Our waiter was fantastic. He explained the menu well, made suggestions, and was very attentive. The only negative was that it was really dark, so dark that we needed the candle to see the menu well. But overall, we loved Sambuca and we would definitely go again."

  • "Everyone was happy! We didn't have time to linger, but would have enjoyed staying longer!"

  • "I have been to Sambuca about 5-6 times now. I keep going back because the food is great, The service has always been friendly, and I love that they have live music, but I love even more that it isnt played deafeningly loud so you can still enjoy the company of your friends."

  • "This place had great live music, playing 90's and country and all time favorites! The small plates are great for sharing and the tuna poke is the BEST! Only complaint was it was freezing, so just remember a jacket and you will have a great time!"

  • "Loved the food. But it was very dark inside. I was glad to see 20 somethings using their cell phone flashlights too! The band was good, but loud, the atmosphere is pleasant. The service was slow, which is nice, you don't feel rushed, but I would have preferred it to be a little quicker. Food portions are not large, just normal. You could definitely eat a salad, starter and an entree at this place. But everything was delicious!!"

  • "Been to Sambuca numerous time for everything from business lunch to large group celebrations. The food remains consistently good, but service has been pretty poor the last several times. Drink pours are very light handed, especially for the charge. Mis coordination of reservation bookings frequently cause bump-outs. The list goes on. Independently not major issues (except the service), but collectively not acceptable, especially with the growing number of great options in Nashville that exceed what Sambuca is (not) delivering. Overall - really good food, but too many new great food alternatives in Nashville to tolerate poor service and diminishing value for the price range. My business will definitely go elsewhere."

  • "I enjoyed the food but the server was the stand out on this night. When we were initially seated at a very small two top in the room with the band and I was concerned. I was a busy evening for a Thursday and the information on the reservation indicated we were only going to be allowed to sit for two hours but the waiter never made us feel rushed. Although he forget my dates coffee he was delightful! I had a wonderful time and would recommend it for special occasions, hanging out for drinks and even a date night. I did like the band although it was loud I could carry on a conversation."

  • "We have eaten at Sambuca several times. The food is always fabulous, presentation beautiful, taste outstanding. Our recent experience for my wife's birthday, while the food was awesome as always, the service was less so. We felt very rushed, our waiter while telling us 10 times not to feel rushed, made us feel just that. He pushed us frequently to order, not giving us time between courses. He brought us our desert (which was complementary & really good) without asking if we were ready & did not offer coffee. Brought the check with the desert, not asking if we may want anything else. I realize there is a 2 hour dinner limit for thurs.- sat., however this was Monday. Disappointed in how we were treated overall."

  • "The only reason Sambuca did not receive an outstanding is because they were unfortunately out of chicken and tuna the night we ate there. The food, wine, music and service were all excellent! Our group of restaurant professionals had everything from their artisan pizza, to their tapas, to their entrees. They even had gluten-free options."

  • "Love Sambuca! One of the best meals we ever had in Nashville!"

  • "I never leave reviews but my husband and I had a great experience at Sambuca's. The booth we sat at was very cozy and romantic. They had a jazz band playing which really added to the overall ambience. Our waitress, Brooklyn, was wonderful and knowledgable about the menu. Her suggestions were delicious choices. She surprised us with a complimentary dessert for our anniversary. We would recommend to anyone looking for a nice romantic dinner."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Sambuca. This was our first time here. The food was delicious, the drinks well made, the service attentive, and the bread pudding incredible. The music made the evening complete and wonderful."

  • "We had less than 24 hours in Nashville over July 4, and chose to spend 5 hours of that time at Sambuca--a wise choice. Especially notable were all members of the wait staff--amazingly attentive yet never hovering. Thank you for a delightful evening."

  • "We had a group of 7 people on the first night I was in town and the waitress was really attentive and helpful with food choices. The food was unique and fun. The meal I had a couple of nights later at my conference wasn't as good as the first night, but it was still really good. The menu is really creative and has a lot of DELICIOUS appetizers and sides. I highly recommend this restaurant in The Gulch area of Nashville! The noise level is really loud when they have music, so don't plan to hear the people you're sitting with!!! But aside from that, it's a "don't miss it!" when in Nashville if you want a nice meal out."

  • "I had the prime rib and my wife had a white fish. Both were the most tender we've have ever eaten. I hate to even bring it up because our experience was so good however I thought the drinks were a bit expensive ($10 for a small gin and tonic). I requested house gin so figured it would be cheaper than that. The band "Pat James" was excellent!! We were tired of trying to find actual county music on Broadway as everyone seems to want to be a rock star. We heard Bon Jovi, REO Speed Wagon, and others. The Pat James ban played some great music from Dean Martin, Elvis, Frank Sinatra and others. We really enjoyed listening to them. For reference we are in our 40's. Would definitely go again but would order less drinks."

  • "It you are looking for dinner and a band this is the place. The food is good but not top notch. However, the music and the crowd made up for average dinner. The desert was the best part of the meal. I'd recommend it for a date night as well as a night of partying with a large group."

  • "Went here on a recommendation. Had some friends in town and it turned out to be a great girls night out. We loved the privacy in the booth, the music was great and the acoustics in the room allowed us to hear each other talking and the music. We loved our waiter, didn't rush us and recommended some other things to do after dinner. All the drinks we tried were delicious! Really enjoyed ourselves here."

  • "The ambiance was perfect for my wife and I to enjoy a romantic night out. Dimly lit with great live music! The waitstaff was helpful and freindly but not overbearing. The food was outstanding! We shared a few of the small plates giving us a chance to sample the wide variety on this terrific menu. Loved the Bibb Salad, Grilled Polenta and the Chicken and Beef Satay. Being able to relax with a few cocktails (the Cucumber Pineapple Crush was our favorite) and enjoying the live music after dinner was just perfect!"

  • "At at Sambuca for a romantic birthday celebration. Great live music and fun atmosphere. OpenTable had wrong times (times that the restaurant wasn't open) but the restaurant promptly called and scheduled us appropriately."

  • "My husband and I went to Sambuca this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary. The place was awesome! Food was very good, and the service was excellent!! The Diggy Band was the band playing that night and they were great! Everything was perfect until we got out to claim our car. We had just bought a brand new Explorer a week ago. When the valet guy returned it to me there was white mud all over it, even splattered up on the windows, and there was mud all inside on the drivers side on the floor mats, carpet, even a little on the edge of the seat. I had to take it the next day to be detailed. If the valet had returned my car the way it was when we dropped it off, I would give 5 stars. The restaurant was great....valet parking, not so much."

  • "If you like mediocre, overpriced food with bachelorette parties and 20 somethings partying all around, then this is the place for you. We went here looking for upscale cuisine and were very disappointed. The lobster enchiladas were dry and, as far as I could tell didn't actually contain any lobster. I asked the waitress and she said it was minced. Regardless, they had no flavor. The pizza was okay, but very salty. Don't waste your money. Next time we'll go across the street to Cantina Laredo. Even though it's a chain, the food there is better than this place."

  • "Good food as usual and great atmosphere- but we made an 8:00 reservation a week prior and we're not seated until 845. Disappointing but our server made up for it!"

  • "Looked all day to find a restaurant with jazz and dinner in Nashville. We were completely happy with everything… music was amazing… food was over the top… and our server Lindsey was always attentive but not obtrusive. We celebrated our anniversary and will definitely return. Thanks for a great start to our evening."

  • "I made reservations in advance for a birthday celebration and specifically asked to be seated in a certain section. When I arrived a guest had already been seated and we walked to the table which was right in front of the band; not where I had requested. I told the hostess that I had requested a certain section to which she rudely replied that it was booked for a private event. I asked if we could be seated somewhere else so we could be farther from the band so we could hear and talk. She begrudgingly sat us in another area and walked off. We waited approximately 25 minutes for a waiter to take our drink order - once the wine arrived - we had to pour our own refills - we had multiple bottles. Very poor - this was not our first time"

  • "I entertained a business group, total of 10. Staff had our table set up on time per our reservation, good ambience (i.e., quiet enough) that early to have good conversations. It was, however, difficult to talk over the band when they started playing around 6PM. Food was good, service was good (our server was Justin - he was great). However, at the end of our experience, several in our party ordered desert, and it took over 20 minutes from the time we ordered our deserts to when the deserts finally arrived at our table. Our server made a decision to comp the deserts to make it right, and the manager came out to apologize. It was the kitchen staff who flubbed on that one, not the server staff."

  • "Great for a special occasion or just for a romantic date night. The band that played the night we were there was fantastic. Great place to sip a great drink & listen to some jazz."
    Dined on 6/8/2014
  • "The food was great and OUR server was good. However, I did notice many of the servers not really paying attention and just talking amongst themselves. Given that the average plate is around $25 one would think that the wait staff would be a little more attentive. When we first came in the hostess and two other employees were just chatting and basically ignored us until I really asserted myself. This was a little bit off-putting. It wasn't bad enough to make me not go back, but I really hope I keep getting a good server. Also, it is really loud indoors because of the live music. You should be prepared for that before going. "

  • "The music is absolutely wonderful with a group just off a world tour. That said, however, it is not a place to try to carry on a good conversation easily and that should always be taken into account when making these reservations. The food is very good"
