I was skeptical at first after reading some negative reviews from 2010. It turns out this was one of the best dining experiences my wife and I ever had (in 65 years we have had a lot). We were promptly seated and since this restaurant has live music, dancing were asked if we were attending one of the nearby theaters to locate us in a corner of the restaurant for "expiditious" service. Janet, our server, was great! Explained everything on the menue, food was fantastic, service was fast but not rushed. We will make it a point of returning with each Houston visit.

We went for dinner the other night and as always the food was fabulous. The drinks elections were very interesting a quite tasty. All the small plates were great. We split three of them and that was plenty of food for my husband and myself. Will go again the next time we go downtown.

Sambuca is extremely convenient if visiting downtown, Bayou Place or going to a show in the theater district. The menu has satisfying entree options if planning enough time for full meal and also many options for small plates great for a bite before or after a show during late night. Also very fun place for drinks or happy hour. They have live music, several fun martini and mixed drink concoctions to choose from as well as a wine list. We were contacted to confirm our reservation the morning of and we were also asked if we had a show to attend and what time it started so they could inform the waiter. Also, they offer reservations as early as 5pm unlike some other area restaurants; helpful if you don't want to rush to your performance.

It was a recommendation/offer of discounted drinks and appetizers by the Houston Ballet advertisement . Plastic glasses and really loud loud music. We arrived at 10pm and by 11.30pm no there customer was near us, most had left. Food diasppointing, my shrimp tasted completely of bleach . Not to be recommended after the theater , or any other time!

We went on a Friday night and it was quite busy on the outside patio and at the bar. We were seated in a back corner and it was so dark we had to use our cell phones to read the menu. The food was decent, but a real foodie might be disappointed. We got a caprese salad and a Bibb lettuce salad with orange and avocado slices. These were both good. For entrees we did a portobello mushroom dish and a veggie pizza as we didn't feel like meat or fish. These were ok. The dessert, a berry crumble a la mode, was excellent. Our waitress, who was very warm and friendly and attentive, warned us the crumble was large enough to split and we were glad we listened. If you don't want the loud band music while you dine come early so you are done by 8 pm.

Waitress was rude and inattentive. It's sad that the best part of the "Flat Iron Steak Plate" was the green beans. This plave has a great ambience but it's extremely overpriced based on thw service and the quality of the food.

We ordered from restaurant weeks menu. The selections were from the regular menu. Not sure if the portions were smaller or not. My husband had the vegetable lasagna and enjoyed it. There was an over abundance of olives. Otherwise, it was very tasty! I had the lobster enchiladas. They were a lot of tortilla and not much else. The sauce was good. There were some potatoes that were layered as a side. They were cold. The best part of the meal for me was the dessert creme brulee. It was top notch.

Rudeness started with a call to confirm reservation where I was informed that if I were more than 15 minutes late I would be marked As a no-show in thier open table system. Server was ok food was what you might expect at a chain restaurant in the burbs. Wine list was pitiful. This was definitely a waste of time and money.

A friend and I went for dinner on a Saturday night. I had been to Sambuca years ago and remember it being lively, great music and great food. The food was great but the service was horrible and the music was downright awful. Off key, bad singing and worse was the stage presence of the band. Our waiter disappeared constantly and the manager had to close out our ticket. I was disappointed and really had high hopes for this once great gem of Houston.

I've been to Sambuca several times for date nights and occasions, and it never fails. There is live music 7 days a week which has always been very entertaining. The decor is a great mix which makes it a great place for people who like to take in their environment. Service is always spectacular which goes along with the food! It is a bit pricey, but well worth it.

This has been a favorite restaurant for us for years. I have seen a decline in food quality over the last year. I had the Lobster Enchiladas and they were good but not great. My wife had the same comment on the Seafood Integration, which she regularly orders. We were there Saturday night and the band was outstanding, one of the reasons we came from Spring TX to the restaurant.

We went to Sambuca's on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was busy, but not excessively so. The food and atmosphere were great, but the service was nonexistent. Half of our time there was spent waiting on our waitress to take the order and get drinks. Once our food was brought out, we had to wait another 10 minutes just to get the proper silverware. While we were eating, we saw several people walk out after waiting 20-30 minutes for a waiter to take their order. Not good!

Despite the restaurant having called me two hours before our reservation to confirm, our table was not ready [and it wasn't because the restaurant was full]. Once we were seated, our group had a serviceable lunch with a nice variety of menu choices. The bisque seemed a table favorite.

Great live music venue. Food was good, not great. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Shrimp and crab dip appetizer was good although toast points instead of tortilla chips would have been an improvement. Flat iron steak cooked perfectly but should have been marinated longer. Tuna poke (tartar) was good. Berry cobbler desert was excellent. Wine list is not extensive but has a good mix of fine wine and fine value.

I took out my gf for a birthday dinner. We ordered soup/appetizer and main course. To our surprise the server brought all the items together instead of letting us finish our soup first. We have to ask her to warm up the pizza again. I hope the servers will learn (if they don't already know) that the patrons should be given time and should be courteous. I think that was very rude. I did pay the tip but next time, please don't expect the customers to come back for dinner let alone leaving you a nice tip.
