A word from Samba Brazilian Steakhouse & Lounge
A dizzying array of sizzling, fire-roasted meats ranging from Picanha (Brazilian top sirloin), Pork Tenderloin to savory sausages, chicken and lamb are skewered, slowly roasted over an open flame and then expertly carved right at your table. And as if that wasn’t enough,we've paired our succulent meats with an extensive buffet featuring salads and freshly prepared hot and cold side dishes. Churrascaria roughly translates from the Portuguese word for barbecue and is a centuries old culinary tradition. At Samba, we honor the traditional rodizio feast, while infusing it with new and unexpected tastes inspired by the pulse and energy of Brazilian culture. From the moment you walk into Samba, you know for sure this isn't your average Brazilian steakhouse! Continued

  • "It was a fabulous night. The atmosphere was wonderful. It was a wonderful birthday celebration that I really enjoyed with my girlfriends. Food was great, the hostess was really nice. Our waitress took really good care of us. The dancers were exceptional."

  • "The meat was constantly dry and flavorless, and the food in the buffet tasted blend. Nothing special there. The ambient is cool and the people serving us were very nice, which makes is such a pity not having good food there. The cheese rolls were the only thing that tasted good!"

  • "I made the reservation through Open Table (super easy and fast) and even left a note that it was my boyfriend's birthday. When we showed up on a Monday night, we were seated in a booth with a view of the patio, close to the buffet line. Our server was friendly & welcoming, but I would have liked for her to check on us more frequently for our drink orders/refills. The manager greeted us and told us to save room for dessert which was a beautiful chocolate bundt cake with a truffle and strawberries carved into butterflies. I was very impressed! During our dinner, the samba dancers came out twice. For a Monday night birthday dinner for two, our experience was pleasant and delicious. We will definitely return for another date night."

  • "If you love to eat meat, this is the place. The scewers come around non stop, pepper steak, new york steak, tri tip, bacon wrapped chicken, and garlic bread fresh off of the grill. Cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Nice choice of buffet items as well. Bean salads, rice, black beans, bread etc....Then there is the show. Brazilian style samba dancers in the middle of the room. Awesome!"

  • "It was an amazing steakhouse, they would bring to the table all sorts of meats and so deliciously cooked. Then there was also a samba dancing show it was a good package."

  • "I was a first timer here on Saturday and it was amazing. Good good and expect to be in a food coma after eating here"

  • "It's a nice place to lunch or dine, if you went to universal studios is a perfect place because is in the same city walk. The food and service are good. Every hour there is a mini show of samba with two beautiful dancers, is great."

  • "My husband and I were cashing in a Groupon we purchased for Samba, and we were pleasantly surprised about what a great time we had! The restaurant was very busy, as it was a Friday night, and they were actually turning people away who didn't have a reservation (thank goodness for Opentable!). We both had the Gaucho Feast, which includes unlimited trips to the side dish buffet and unlimited meat service. It was our first time at a Brazilian steakhouse, but I had researched beforehand. Instead of serving you a plate with food on it, there are waiters walking around with various types of meats that carve it at the table for you. I have to say, this method definitely increases the freshness and flavor of the food. Everything was great!"

  • "The service was excellent and the meat was very flavorful, great experience. I did not care for the salad bar, I think this was lacking."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "Great service, however the meat was either way overcooked or way undercooked. There was no even balance. My tritip was dripping blood while my steak tasted like beef jerky. Our waitress was great and the restaurant vibe was fun. Come for the ambience but not the food."

  • "My friend and I came here after I garnered a Groupon deal. All I can say is the food was GREAT! The salad bar had a variety of items to choose from, but my favorite items were the bean salad, garbanzo salad, whipped mashed potatoes, and plantains. And, those cheese bread balls - to DIE for! The meats were good, too, but my top two favorite were the pepper steak and bacon wrapped chicken. Oh, and the garlic bread - BOOM! Yes, I love my carbs! I had two Jalapeno Cucumber Caipirinhas - so refreshing! The restaurant isn't anything super fancy, but all the staff was very nice. A special thanks to our server Aaron. Very nice, chill dude! We'll see ya soon!!"

  • "I would highly recommend this place to anybody. I took my mom to dinner in celebration of her 60th birthday along with my kids. Food is delicious, great customer service and sit well with kids. I would definitely go back soon."

  • "Our family and especially my 16 yr old son love dining here. Enjoy the Samba dancers in the evening. The two hour time limit is appropriate for this restraunt (rodizio) having fixed price (preco fixo) selections."

  • "We have walked past this restaurant many times wanting to give it a try, Living Social gave us a push and we are glad they did. Top top notch server and the food was very good. The salad bar was clean and well stocked at all times and the main dishes were very good, although of course it depends on what you like, if you don't like something just pass and somebody else will be along in a minute with something else. It was also a fun place, everybody was having a great time and we can't wait to go back. The manager was clearly visable and stopped by to check on things which was nice."

  • "I was expecting more variety in meats and it seemed that the same cuts came around often....I was not able to try lamb or pork and unfortunately our waiter seemed overwhelmed with tables and did not refill our drinks as much as we would have liked. The seating was not very comforting since we were upstair in a corner and it seemed we were on time out in a corner...we felt forgotten. Unfortunately we would not visit again, which is sad considering that the Redondo location is what drew us to try this one."

  • "I took my boyfriend here as a birthday surprise and we had a load of fun! Everything was prompt, the steaks was beyond amazing and you can't forget the sangria, phenomenal! There were also dancers that made the night that much better. Service was on point. Can't wait to go there again!"

  • "I received three calls prior to my reservation to comfirm. Also once there my wife & I were seated in a tight place. Rubbing elbows with other quest's. What I thought was a going to be a intimate evening didn't turned out that way that all. To top it off the quest seated next was trying to interact with us & others about how the restaurant works what to eat & so on!"

  • "After a trip to The Pantages, we came here for dinner. We were early, so we walked around City Walk. We were still early so we went to the bar to wait. You have to try one of the cachaca beverages. Not a sweet as traditional rum, but very tasty. Shortly, we were escorted to our table and FUN began. All the waiters and meat passers were gorgeous! They eye candy made you want to stay at your table as long as possible. The salad bar was packed with a nice variety of foods, but do not fill up, the meat is coming. Our waiter was helpful with the cachaca menu and helped with pairing. The lamb was my favorite. It was spiced and spicy. The fish tasted had the texture of solid butter. All the varieties of beef were very good. Remember to go hungry!!"

  • "cuts of meat were often dry or overcooked, the restaurant was not understaffed but the service was not up to par (many employees stood around doing nothing, but my waiter was running around working so hard that he barely had time for us), but the rest of the employees spent most of their time talking to eachother. for what you're getting, samba is overpriced and I would most likely not eat there again, unless I had a deal of some sort. sambas dinner costs 39$ per person for dinner(with the same food as lunch, which is 21$) but is not half as good as other Brazilian steakhouses(like pichana) that are cheaper. the restaurant needs a change, many of these problems(including the meat) are from negligent employees."

  • "service was ok. ordered an iced tea had to wait several minutes for the waiter to come back to ask him for sugar for the iced tea. the server that was bringing out the meat was to fast to enjoy any of the meat and was a bit inpatient."

  • "I was disappointed with the service provided given that the food was below average and they did not accept gift cards on Valentiens Day. That is horrible because the only reason why we went was because we had gift cards. These are not certificates or coupons but gift cards so it shouldn't mAtter what day it is, we should be able to use it. We ended up spending $140.00 for two people and the food wasn't great at all. Very disappointing."

  • "We went here because of a groupon deal. It's inside the Universal City Walk. Food was good, if you're into meats. There's a brazilian show and dancers perform while you eat. Their drinks are great. A bit pricey though."

  • "Service, atmosphere were excellent but the meat skewers were very repetitive for a Brasilian restaurant."

  • "If you're looking to stuff your face with delicious cuts of meat this is the place for you! Bountiful and delicious sides, great drinks, beautiful entertainment and overall a great dinning experience!"

  • "Been here a few times but this time they had lamb circulating. It was some of the most amazing lamb I've ever had. Also love the sausages and garlic bread. Drinks are made strong - my Long Island didn't just taste like it was crammed with sour. Good place - good price."

  • "the waiter was brilliant, and funny. I believe his name was Chris. but he was the best part of the meal. The food wasn't as flavorful. It seemed more salty than marinated. And the meat seemed tougher. We will go again, probably. However Picanha in burbank is better food for a lower price."

  • "Really cheesy, but not bad at all. The food is so so, with certain cuts of meat being pretty good and others about average. The salad bar was weak. It was basically a cheesy version of Fogo de Chao. The ambience at City Walk is just like being in a place like Las Vegas. I am totally down for all you can eat, so would go back with a deal from a place like Living Social or Groupon, but I wouldn't pay full price."
    Dined on 1/26/2014
  • "I love this place. But I only come when there is a Groupon or Living Social special. The meat is delicious, but not the best Churasco I've had. Samba's meets tend to be a little dry. Absolutely love the Brazilian Samba dancers. They sure can shake their feathers!"

  • "Went as a group of 4 for a friends birthday. The place was packed and the initial face time with the server was a bit slow, but after that everything was just jumping!. The food came out of the kitchen quickly and it was very tasty. Samba even brought out a free birthday dessert for my friend. Love this place!"

  • "It was my first time at a Brazilian Steakhouse. It was my mom's 50th b-day. I decided to treat her, her fiancé, and my partner to a Hollywood dinner since they were visiting us from out of town. I wrote a comment on our reservation that it was my mom's birthday. They treated my mom very well and gave her 2 drinks and a dessert on the house. The salad bar was fantastic. The meats were all pretty amazing except for one that seemed a little overcooked. It was over stimulation of the senses. Not really ambient, but definitely a dinner to get the party started. If you have friends who want to experience the pizazz of Hollywood, and who are ravenous carnivores, (salad bar for the veggies), I'd definitely recommend Samba at Universal City Walk."

  • "We had such an amazing time at this restaurant. The food, the dancers, the location was just perfect. This place is amazing. Loved it very much. Cant wait to go again. They made my husband feel special for his birthday. Will be visiting soon. Thank you."

  • "We were there on a Friday night from 7 to 9 and the showgirls performed twice while we were there. They were the highlight of our evening. The meats cooled down very quickly. Overall I would say this place was too expensive. My kids voted the Samba Redondo Beach location much better."

  • "The male host that wanted to seat us did not want to change our table. He claimed they were for people that had reservations. I reminded him that I had a reservation as well. He did not like that. They try to feed you the less expensive cuts of meat so you are full and would not have room for the better cuts of meat. We had to ask 6 times for the fish and several times for the lamb and pork ribs until they finally brought it. All that said the quality of the food is poor compared to other Brazilian restuarants I have been to. I will NOT recommend this restuarant."

    Dined on 1/3/2014
  • "The food was great. I really enjoyed the freshness and selection in the salad bar. The meat selections were great, I loved the fact they served fish. I feel it's a little too pricy though, because for just 2 entree's and 2 drinks, it was over 100$."
    Dined on 12/27/2013
  • "I may have had my expectation set very high but the brazillian place down by us is much better. Slow service, very limited selection on the sides and a lot of times the meat was overcooked."

  • "All I can say is make sure your hungry when you go here. Don't eat too much right away because there's lots of great food to try"

  • "It was our first time trying out one of these all you can eat Brazilian places, & I had heard so many good things about this place Samba. It's all you can eat, you literally just tell the waiters what you would like to try, ask your questions as to what animal & what not. The waiters know most diners aren't experts so they were all super friendly in explaining everything to you. The bar is quite small, so its not the best for you large party/group pre-dinner alcoholics. We had some rather high hopes & expectations, but we had to drive about 75 miles in 6pm LA-traffic. And to be honest, our hopes & expectations were met! (they weren't exceeded, like we weren't speechless or anything, but our expectations were met, & YES we would go again"

  • "Traffic was a little heavy on the way to the restaurant so we called ahead to inform them we would be a little late. We were informed that if we do not arrive within 15 min of the appt. time, our table would be given away. This was not met with delight. We managed to get there on time and there were several tables open, well after we arrived so I'm not sure why that statement was necessary. We were sat right away and the waiter attended to us immediately. I did not find the atmosphere to be very intimate or warm. The food was good, but when compared to other Brazilian Restaurants, I was only truly impressed with the beef ribs. The beef meats, like top sirloin, sirloin, garlic beef were all tougher than I like. Great Dancers."

  • "We had our office party here and it was very nice. The dancers were wonderful and the service was right on target. The food, was a little better last year -more steak, less low end chicken and such -and the lava cake had set out too long and didn't 'flow', but still pretty good. We will probably do our party here again next year - 3rd time in a row!"
