Diner Reviews
  • "A true steak house featuring over-sized cuts and typical steak house sides. Everything was just OK. There was nothing that blew my doors off."

  • "Our waiter was friendly but he needed more help. I didn't have a napkin and had to take it from the other table( my boyfriend & I both) plus I asked for a lemon for my water and he prob forgot because he came back 20 minutes later."

  • "Excellent dinner, attentive and courteous staff, will definitely be going back."

  • "This place is great. Everything tastes like its made to order...well seasoned and hot open arrival! Very nice selection of specials and the menu changes so always a nice selection to choose from. Staff is extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. Great service from the time you pull up until you are escorted to your car. Will definitely return. Very good chance you will meet Sam, as well!"

  • "Too pricey for the food you get. We asked for the chopped steak and of course they said they were out of it. I believe it was because it was the least expensive item on the menu."

  • "Went out with my wife for our first dinner after the birth of our son.. it was AMAZING...Steak was outstanding Service top notch.."

  • "Could not wait to go will never return. Prices are ridiculously high The meat was listed as prime ,no way was it prime the only way we would ever return was is the restaurant sent us a certificate for a free meal to come back.thank you jack chaiklin"

  • "It was the 1st. Time that my husband, my daughter and I when to this restaurant and they did a good job making ous feel special thank you for doing that and make my daughter so happy"

  • "everything was great...my only uncomfortable moment was upon entering the door to step foot into the bldg. one of the guys downstairs looked at my lady and I and started laughing to himself as he turned his back to us...he could of at least waited to make fun of us black people ...like wow he was pretty bold. well anyway thanks for a peacefully eating atmosphere. i'am an electrical engineer and the place really helped to relax and get comfortable enough to unwind from a stressful demanding day. in spit of the first episode of weirdness! I was happy that I came to feel things out."

  • "Food was very good, service was excellent. Please note, we I recommend dining Tues-Thurs , when the club downstairs is closed"

  • "They served our steaks lukewarm so we sent them back. The mac and cheese side wasn't any better than a box of craft. We couldn't get a 6 o'clock reservation and when we showed up there wasn't a single other person there. The temperature inside the restaurant felt about mid sixties in the middle of the winter and there was a constant draft over our feet. Factor in the luxury steakhouse prices and we felt rather cheated. C A bad experience all around."

  • "We had a groupon for a big discount, but otherwise the price just makes it not worth it! The food was awesome, but the service was slow. I also had a hard time find a reservation time on open table but the restaurant was empty."

  • "My second visit was not as good as my first. My medium-rare porterhouse came out well done. The waiter comped a round of drinks in a effort to make up for it. I did not reorder, as my friend would have been finished eating before I even got mine."

  • "While the restaurant is a steakhouse, they do an admirable job on fish too. The sea bass with lobster risotto was wonderful. Great flavors and huge chunks of lobster. The steaks were great as expected of a steakhouse. The lamb was also fantastic. Huge portions offset some of the huge prices, although the wine list is reasonably priced and had a good variety. Due to the restaurant being out of a wine we ordered, the chef visited our table and comped us some sides and desserts. Sides were all great, and the desserts were outrageous. VERY nice gesture but in reality, it was too much food! :) The space is really interesting as it is the upstairs of a club/private party space. Would love to go to a party there!! We will definitely be back!"

  • "I enjoyed everything about this place. Very cool atmosphere that made me feel like a rat packer. Great music. Most importantly outstanding food. Everything we had was great including their bacon slab "teaser". My wife had a seafood special that she loved and I went with the Tomahawk steak that was incredibly flavorful and tender. You need to give this place a try!"

  • "Another terrific night... another incredible meal. I had the dry aged tomahawk steak....flavorful and prepared to perfection. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass over lobster risotto...OMG so good. Started with the seafood tower...raw clams, oysters, shrimp, lump crab meat & snow crab claws....terrific...all fresh and loved the presentation. Keep it up!"

  • "My wife and I love dining out...at least twice a week. All types of cuisine... but particularly steak and dry aged steaks. A friend of ours told us about this new hidden gem in West Orange nestled in a corner of 2nd floor of what I have been told is the #1 nightclub in NJ. well we were blown away. Service was great. Food incredible. room was gorgeous. A sure winner. What a treat!"

  • "The place when u walk in was very nice valet parking and the coat guys were very nice. I came there to celebrate my fiancé B-Day but when we got our food we was not satisfied and the Mac and Cheese was nasty when we told the waiter we didn't care for it took it back and that was the we seen of him then for the check that took forever as well"

  • "CUT comes through again. This is my third time and the steak was cooked to perfection, the drinks mixed well and the service was perferfect"

  • "We dined here once before and it was very good overall. However, this time we did not have similar experience. Our server was very nice, but there were definite problems this evening..my son couldn't get his Coke for an unreasonable amount of time (to change out soda machine), we could not get a 6PM reservation so settled for 5:15, yet there were only 2 tables filled in entire dining room until we left at 7:45. My main course (NY Strip) was not served with all other entrees (for some unknown reason) and then when finally arrived, 15 mins later, was a T-bone, not NY Strip. Dessert and coffees came at lengthy intervals.it was just an overall poor dining experience for a very expensive amount of money. Very disappointing and very expensive."
    Dined on 2/22/2014
  • "The food was tasty; the service was horrible. The servers ignored our table, gave us wrong menu information and then delivered incomplete meals. Also, for Valentine's Day, they charged $150 pp. They charged the same amount for children--are you kidding!!! The meal content was only worth $50 pp at most. We were all very disappointed."

  • "Overall, we were also not pleased with the food or the service at Mickail's CUT Steak House plus we were not allowed to use the Groupon voucher and had to pay the full price for the meal."

  • "I enjoyed everything about this establishment. My mom,her girlfriend and myself are still talking about this place. From the staff to the food everything was excellent. I would highly recommend this place. Thanks for the great experience, Manny our server, Dennis the connoisseur, and John went out of their way to provide us with outstanding service. Once again, thank you for such a beautiful experience."

  • "Such an awesome time here from beginning to end! Greeted and given brief tour and history ,seated as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, waitstaff was beyond attentive and personable, meals were fantastic and we did not feel rushed as we sat and chatted. Highly recommend and we will absolutely return!"

  • "The restaurant is very nice.....you will be perplexed upon walking through the nightclub at first. The people are all super nice and make you feel very welcome. The food is fatastic (we had calamari, sea bass, steak, short rib, the osso buco special, and the chocolate cake). Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and I think the quality is better than most if not all of the city places (maybe because they are not a factory in terms of putting out food, which are also much more expensive). The only steak I had recently that I think compares is at Chicago Cut - how fitting the name is. They also make special accomodatios for children, which is always nice (and as a parent who is also a foodie, I appreciate it)."

  • "The temperature registered at 59 degrees in the restaurant!! We ate our meal bundled in our coats. They ran out of the tomahawk steak and after over cooking over medium filet mignon they ran out of the filet mignon!! The mushroom ravioli looked like a dish served at taco belle but tasted worse! Overall our experience was horrible ... The restaurant and club atmosphere was bizarre. I left feeling extremely disappointed only to find out the other dining room had heat!!!"

  • "The food was good, the staff was exceptional but I had to dine in my winter coat as did others. In the winter a warm dining room is to be expected."

  • "The place was very nice once you get to it. You have to go through a night club area in order to reach the restaurant upstairs. The staff and owner were very pleasant. The only down side for me was the long wait for our food. We waited nearly an hour for our entree to come out. Once it arrived it was excellent quality and taste."

  • "Steaks were tasty. Prices on the high side but not too high."

  • "Went on a weeknight and service was impeccable. The steaks took a long time to come out but once they did, they were very good. Very made to order and good wine list. Expensive as are most steakhouses. They all charge a lot for extras by giving you loads of it."
    Dined on 12/3/2013
  • "I found the food to be delicious and the service to be outstanding. Have never been to the club party, but it's a great spot to incorporate both…something for everyone….very nice venue!"
    Dined on 12/4/2013
  • "Contrary to many reviews, we found the experience here excellent! Perhaps it was because we went when the nightclub downstairs wasn't open and it wasn't busy, but we had NO issues at all. The food was prepared exactly as requested and tasted great! Service was excellent too. The prices were quite comparable to other upscale steakhouses in the county. This is NOT a TX Roadhouse or Longhorn steakhouse after all, it's much better!"

  • "A little out of place for a restaurant. Expected better food exspecially for the price."

  • "We started w Blue Points, mother nature did a great job, they were perfect. We then had the Ceaser which had a nice twist, they fried the anchovy filets, they were awesome. My wife had the filet which was perfectly cooked MR and I had the strip steak, also cooked perfect MR, I did add salt to mine, which I almost never do. The only issue I had was the building, the restaurant is over a night club with a small staircase as the only way to get upstairs. The nightclub had not opened yet that night but I can only image how loud the restaurant must get. The kitchen is downstairs, we were reminded of this 4 times while having our dinner. When you asked a staff member for something, the reply was "Ok, I will have to go downstairs to get that.""

  • "The food was exceptional. The overall greeting from staff was over the top, I felt like I was on a sales call. A lot of wait staff but not really helping just sort of hanging out. Dress code not appropriate for upscale restaurant. Don't want to eat with people in sweat pants and shirts when the food and decor are setting the stage for upscale. If your are going to charge these prices institute a dress code."

  • "Drove by the place as there is no sign for the steakhouse. It is upstairs in a club space, and could really use better signage. Had a slow start with our server, but once she came everything was fine. Nice wine list, with reasonable prices and variety. Possibly the best Chilean Sea Bass I have had, and the lobster risotto accompanying was fantastic too. Steak was perfectly cooked and my husband was happy to see a single size porterhouse. Missing a good steak sauce like they have at Peter Lugers, though. The chef's starter was a taster of the specialty slab bacon and was delicious. Enjoyed but was not wowed by the drunken snails. Creamed spinach was also delicious. We will go back to try the burger as it sounded amazing too."

  • "Was looking forward to dining here. Booked through Open Table. When we arrived, on time, they did not have a record of our reservation. Mind you, they called at 1 PM on the day of our reservation to confirm our 7 PM reservation. How can you have no record? They sat us at the worse table possible. It was basically in a closet. Could not see anyone else int the restaurant. I was embarrassed since we asked friends of ours to join us. After sitting there for 10 minutes, and not one person coming by to take a drink/water or appy order, my husband got up and went to the hostess. She then moved us to the bar area at another table. Table was better, but service was still very, very bad. Thank God the food was good."

  • "This was just not the right place for a non-flashy couple and our teenage son. Though he liked it more than we did. A long climb up through the nightclub downstairs. Dining area itself was a bit loud. Big comfy chairs more suitable to lounging than dining. The leaves folded underneath make legroom uncomfortable. Very nice attentive service, good bread and a yummy amuse-bouche. But the entrees were mostly disappointing for the price--mediocre at best. And the "caesar salad" was inedible. Didn't even look at the dessert menu. But maybe if you want a bite before or after the club--or just like a place that feels a bit flashy.... Not for us. We went because we had an Amazon Local coupon."
