When we picked her up I raved and raved about how wonderful Salute on Grand Avenue is. None of us were disappointed at all. The night air was perfect and the patio alive with excitement and conversation. Andy sat us immediately and it was so good to see him again. Our server Kaylie couldn't have been more cordial and attentive. It was super busy but she never appeared rushed and took her time with our table.
The food by Chef Anthony and team was phenomenal and my friend couldn't stop saying what a wonderful time she had. It's all a part of what I call "Cafe Life". They were most accommodating as my wife wanted an item off the dinner menu which they willingly provided. Portions were a bit small for the price by the quality was very good. My wife would have preferred a half duck instead of just the breast. I would have enjoyed more lettuce in my Cobb Salad. Both items were quite good. Cocktails were great. We also enjoyed our appetizers of escargot and we used a 'three-salad' sampler entree as an additional appetizer. Fell in love! Great ambiance, very very friendly staff. Luscious, descriptive menu. Wonderful appetizers and "tastings" from the chef. We spent a long time trying to decide what to order, and were helped by our waiter who let us know that the scallops were a seasonal dish and would not be around for much longer. So of course that is what we ordered! Amazing! We agreed that we MUST go back and soon, in order to further educate our palates. Desert was unexpectedly sumptious. We thought a simple ice cream sandwich would be a nice way to end the meal. Who knew we would get an extremely addictive treat that would feed 3 people! All in all a great experience.
