  • "Our 34th Wedding Anniversary, so we came here because the menu has some unique items. Trendy bar scene with some unique drinks - but pricey. We were seated promptly. and waitress was pleasant. Wanted to order the special of the night, but they had already run out by 7:15 PM. The crabcake appetizer was very good, followed by an OK salad that was OK - but unusual - blending strawberries with Tomatoes in fresh greens with a nice cheese. The strawberry and tomatoe flavors to clashed. My Halibut was overdone, and the wife's Prime Rib was not a 'melt-in-your' mouth experience. Tougher than one would expect. Red Velvet Cake for desert was excellent. So it was a mixed bag. Manager was kind enough to comp us for the main dish."

  • "I've had numerous good experiences at Salut...including New Years Eve with a larger group...and all have been wonderful. This last experience fell short of that by far. Not so much with the food...good...not great, but the service was so lacking in the level I would have expected. Missing were a timely initial greeting, server follow up, and the last check in before our server left for the evening WITHOUT telling us, or that another server might follow up. So odd, so disappointing."

  • "We went to Salut for our anniversary. The food and service was A+ - excellent. They have us a very delicious dessert to take home - complimentary. So nice - we really appreciated it. However, we did find one fault - the tablecloth - under the white table covering was very dirty. We told our server - as we thought it was something that they could fix before their next customer. The only thing that would make this French restaurant better would be to serve chocolate croissants (chocolade du pain) very French."

On several occasions we've ordered their entrees but decided the burgers were better value, entrees too expensive when they don't include sides (a la carte)"

My husband got the Salmon and it was ok but way too oily. Would have been better with a cream based sauce. Overall, we thought the prices were high for the quality."

  • "Had a wonderful time here. First time back in Minneapolis with my wife since we found out she was pregnant. My parents took us out to celebrate and to plan the holidays. The atmosphere was perfect -- great weather while we sat outside. Our server (I forget her name, but she was great) made sure our drinks (non-alcoholic for my wife of course) were always full but also didn't interrupt our conversation and celebration. She also had recommendations ready, which I always appreciate as an indecisive eater. My wife got the Poullet Pilliard (Thursday special) and I got the hanger steak frites. Only complaint is that they were out of the horseradish crust, which the waitress recommended highly and then didn't have. Wish I could taste it!"

  • "We came here for a birthday celebration and everything we ate was quite delicious. The frog legs were perfect, as were the escargot. I personally really enjoyed the salad I got, which was a combination of asparagus, snap peas, lettuce, pancetta, egg and artichoke. The carbonara was delicious. It was pretty heavy (as the dish typically is) and the ingredients tasted fresh. This being said, the star of the meal was the dessert. The creme brulee was absolutely perfect. Cool, creamy, with a nice sugar crust on top. We will be coming back for sure."

  • "My wife had the duck; I had the the Lobster/Shrimp/Crayfish special. Both were excellent although I had a bit of a time maneuvering the crayfish. Drinks well prepared...one of the best bars in town for a quality and generous pour. The restaurant can be noisy but on this occasion with an early reservation and many people eating outside, it was just fine. Service was spotless. One of our top ten in the Cities."

  • "My husband and I dined at Salut for our anniversary. We enjoyed the ambience - French decor and relatively quiet setting. The food was delicious. My husband said his steak was one of the best he's ever had. My shrimp and salmon salad was wonderful too. I would also recommend the apple & brie appetizer. We did have to wait a bit for our entrees but I think that's to be expected at a higher end place like Salut."

  • "We dined on a Monday night and I think they did not expect the numbers of guests that arrived. The soup special was not good--a lentil soup that had no lentils in it--just broth. My husband and I shared the special entree and we only received half of it to share. Waitress was terrific but the entire night was a mess. Waitress takes order (while trainee was watching), waitress places order, someone else brings order, eventually waitress checks back in... Just didn't work this night."

  • "We were at the Edina location for Sunday brunch. We had just placed our order when the power went out. The restaurant was quite full because it was about 11:30 a.m. There was no apparent panic by the staff. Our waitress came over and made sure we were comfortable as the air was now off. There were 2-3 larger parties of 10 - 12 people seated near use. The staff worked with the parties to get them to another one of Salut's restaurants that was about half a block away that wasn't effected by the power outage. Very orderly. They were able to complete our order and also continued to check on our comfort while the power was out. Well Done! The food was yummy as always. I'm never disappointed."

  • "We sat on the patio which was lovely. However, the waitress out there was more than a little hard to get hold of. She botched our first drink order. Later, she finally took a second drink order near the end of our meal then promptly abandoned us for 25 minutes (and never did fill the drink order). So we paid and left. The food was hit or miss--my wife's salmon was good, but my carbonara pasta was greasy and heavy and extremely dull in flavor. I feel like they do the fish well, but that's about it. For what they charge, Salut must not get a whole lot of repeat business as it seems incredibly pricey for the relative standard fare."

  • "We came here on shorter notice for a late dinner (9pm) with a family member who came in from out of town. The service was prompt, with good insight on wine selections and described differences between types of steak offerings; the vegatable sides were outstanding, especially the roasted mushrooms, roasted cauliflower/bacon and potatotes and we shares them between us with plenty left over to take in a doggie bag. The entrees were generously sized and well prepared. Given the slower level of business at that time of night, it was a great place for a conversation as well. We always enjoy Salut, and this time was no exception."

  • "I was less than impressed for their Father's Day brunch. In the beginning of the brunch we could see some appetizing choices but when we got to it, it looked like they replaced the items by stopping at the local target. I also quickly noticed that they did not have what they said they were going to serve, and when dietary concerns are involved, this is a huge issue. When I called ahead I gave fair warning that I had my twin girls with me that are 4 and a half. At the Brunch anyone under 5 ate for free. However we still got charged, when I explained to them that they should not be charged the server gave a lot of attitude and was very disrespectful. They made me and my children feel awful for abiding by their "under 5" rule."

When we arrived at our booth, a subtle congratulatory sign greeted us. The entire staff really went out of their way to make our day special. On top of our delicious meals, we were treated to a complimentary dessert of our choice. We will definitely be returning to Salut and recommending them to everyone we can!"

  • "As an artist who was directly across from this restaurant at the Edina Art Fair, I couldn't wait to try it as I watched an endless stream of people come and go. We were also celebrating an anniversary and were treated like dignitaries by EVERY ONE! Food was great, the personal touch top notch and the staff couldn't have been better or friendlier. This one's a keeper. If there was a downside, it was packed and just a little noisy and fairly expensive. The positives overwhelmingly negate the negative. If I'm lucky enough to get juried into the 2015 art fair, I would be content to eat all my evening meals here as the menu was very diverse. Viva la Salut!!"
