Salum RestaurantNo SurprisesNever disappoints. Uniformly excellent time after time, which is the hardest thing to do.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother Perfect Celebration @ SalumWe celebrated a birthday at Salum. The experience was even more fun than expected. The server was attentive and offered to bring more white anchovies for the Caesar when she learned that those are a favorite. The Pinot Noir was lovely, the paella was fabulous. I wish that I could turn back the clock and start all over again. Maybe a repeat next Saturday night. . .5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Dallas's BestSalum combines delicious food, beautiful presentation, attentive but unintrusive service and and elegant but restrained space. WE wnet the evening before Mother's Day and the place was packed. The noise level was a bit higher than we would have wished but there is enough separation between the tables to allow pleasant conversation. Such a delightful combination of delicious food in an elegant but restrained setting is a pleasant contrast to many of the better known eateries in Dallas which pride them selves in being showy.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNice hidden GemMy words could not do enough justice. We enjoyed everything about this place and you must try for yourself. You wont be disappointed.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMMid Week OutingAll was very good but the noise level is deafening! A group of very loud women was seated near us. This has happened before. Too bad he can't do something about the noise!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst class Dining in DallasNicely decorated-simple and elegant. Staff is friendly and professional. Menu uses fresh seasonal ingredients and has attractive presentations. Stuffed Squash Blossoms, Cotija Cheese, Shrimp and Poblano Peppers with Cilantro Vinaigrette were filled with flavor. Tomato, Fresh Mozzarella, Serrano Ham included ripe, sweet, dark red tomatoes, certainly a treat. Entree of Pan Roasted Halibut, Onions, Potatoes, Tomatoes and Baby Artichokes in Rosemary Wine Broth- so good I used a soup spoon to capture some of the broth with the fish and vegetables....a wow dish. The wine list was filled with interesting selections, almost all under $100...not your typical everyday names...someone went to a lot of trouble to put this wine list together.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMA neighborhood favoriteAlways inspired and delicious selections, with one of the most well chosen and reasonably priced wine lists in Dallas. This is a consistent favorite of ours. Bravo!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSupport SalumI've eaten at both Salum and his other restaurant around the corner, Komali. Very friendly, accommodating staff, chef typically makes an appearance although I did not see him last time I was in. My girlfriends and I all had a yummy chicken chowder soup of the day as an appetitizer that was recommended by the waiter and delicious. We have a vibrant dining scene in our city, go out and enjoy the variety.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first dine atThis was our first dine at Salum and loved it.I will be back again.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSalum shinesSalum is always a pleasure! We would go back.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA Chef with Good TasteThe food, wine, and service at Abraham Salum's signature restaurant are always wonderful. Well prepared with the finest ingredients and creative enough to be interesting, but done with an expert chef's palate. It is not "creative" purely for the sake of daring novelty without subtlety or taste. The surroundings are warm and attractive even though the exterior is an unassuming strip mall facade. An added bonus is that Abraham seems to always be turning up to chat a bit with the guests and ensure their contentment.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent meal overall withExcellent meal overall with standard great service. The only blemish on an otherwise wonderful experience was the scallop dish. This is one of the best places to eat in Dallas, and the dry cakes and overcooked scallops didn't live up to the quality of the other dishes. The redfish with fiddleheads was fantastic with a great depth of textures and contrasting flavors.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe red snapper and lobsterThe red snapper and lobster tail were excellent. Wonderful service!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWait staff has great attitude.Wait staff has great attitude. Loved the red snapper with fiddleheads!!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food & service were topThe food & service were top notch. Wine list superior we found an excellent Bordeaux for $42. I mean a really fine wine. The place was full & incredibly loud. Never again on a Saturday or Friday, the noise level was unbearable. Met Abraham Salum, he speaks excellent french & has all the charm a host needs to make this establishment the success it is. Yes, I'd go back any time on quieter weeknight, expensive but to be expected for this type of eatery. I look forward to trying his Mexican cuisine next door, soon.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great evening! ServiceWhat a great evening! Service was excellent. Our server made sure the evening was perfect. She was very attentive but not over bearing, friendly but did not want to be on my Christmas card list. The food was fantastic. A great variety of flavors and combinations. We were not rushed and all of the staff were professional. Nothing negative to say.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMChoose Salum first! It's always excellent. Abraham Salum is a restaurateur of the first class!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time atThis was our first time at Salum and we were not disappointed. The mussels with fries were memorable, served as they do in Brussels, an entree serving for me. Both the pork cheeks and shrimp dishes were seasoned to perfection with great plate appeal.
This is my new favorite place to eat in Dallas.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAll three entrees that weAll three entrees that we had were very good. The two deserts that we shared were excellent. Our waitperson was very personable and helpful. The noise level made conversion challenging.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. AtmosphereGreat food and service. Atmosphere could use some attention. Easy access and parking. Buger and fries ...outstanding! One of the best lunch spots I've experienced in the Uptown area. Recommended.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely dinner! Entire partyLovely dinner! Entire party was pleased. Server, Garrett, was excellent. This was my first NON-biz lunch, and it was just as fantastic!3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMStand by favorite. EnjoyedStand by favorite. Enjoyed it this time again although food was solid not exceptional.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AM5th Avenue Restaurant transplantedThe staff here will fawn all over you; the food is mouth-watering amazing and the decor is straight off 5th Avenue, NYC. I go in with a friend who founded a chain of national restaurants and we always start with the mussels and a great wine. There is a tug of war on who gets to take the mussel broth home! Then we split the Dijon crusted rack of lamb, on the rare side of medium rare. I love the mushroom pudding that accompanies it too. The lamb is actually on the dinner menu but, splitting it for lunch is perfect and the three dollar charge to split the entrée is worth it. Great place for client lunchestoo; very impressive.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI eat here AT LEAST once aI eat here AT LEAST once a week. It never disappoints! Excellent food and outstanding service. Always a winner!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTop Notch DiningIt is obvious that this place has a loyal, local following. You go to Salum for the food, not the bar. There are only about 8 seats at the bar, so somewhat difficult to have a drink before dinner. The food is excellent. Perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. I had the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly and my husband had the beef tenderloin which was also excellent. The crab cakes were a nice starter. The one complaint I have is with the Seranno Caprese salad. It was served way too cold and the tomatoes were tastless. I suspect they prep this hours in advance and it sits in the fridge. I'll be back to Salum, but I won't get the Seranno Caprese.3/2/2013 12:00:00 AMIt has been a few year sinceIt has been a few year since dining at Salum, but since our last visit, the restaurant has improved. Wonderful meal in a contemporary but elegant space. I won't wait another year before dining there.3/1/2013 12:00:00 AMAs usual, Salum did not disappoint! As usual, Salum did not disappoint!
