  • "I've been to Saluda's about half a dozen times. I'm never disappointed. The last time we went was for my daughter's 20th birthday. I had the salmon (fish special). My daughter had the lamb - which was very tasty. My son-in-law had the surf and turf. We were all happy with our selections. From appetizer to dessert....we were happy with all the food as well as the service. We never feel rushed...and are able to have a pleasant dinner with good food and conversation. We will absolutely be back!"

Saluda's provides amazing food, exceptional staff, incredible atmosphere (inside or out) and a price tag that is half of what a person would expect to pay. Definitely not "cheap", however, the overall experience has been priceless. Saluda's is not stuffy, as the clientel arrives in well pressed cargo shorts, business suits, skirts and summer dresses, all prepared to have a meal that is worth mentioning. The filets were cooked to perfection and accompanied unusually with fried green tomatoes, crawfish, and mashed potatoes. The sweet tea pork chop is a refreshing departure from the norm, and the sockeye salmon melts in your mouth. Columbia has a winner, and the winner is Saluda's!"

  • "Saluda's is perhaps my favorite spot for a steak in Columbia. This time I had the salmon special and was not disappointed. We normally eat at the bar - Eddie is great! but this time we sat outside since the weather was nice and enjoyed the atmosphere. We consistently have great service there and this time was no different thanks to Margaret. We will definitely be back."

  • "We used Open Table for this Reservation and requested a nice table for 2. Instead of a nice table, we were seated in between 2 tables for 2 where the patrons on both sides of us sat quite close to us and they were very focused on their "groupon" deals as much enjoying their dinners. Even more awkward was the table next to us where an older (55+) fellow wore his bright orange baseball cap throughout his entire meal in what is advertised to be "fine dining" establishment. We purchased a nice bottle of wine to go with our shrimp and grits which were tasty and generous in serving. The waitress was nice. So ambience was very fair at best. Thank you."

  • "I have visited Saluda's several times; it is one of my favorite restaurants for special occasions, or just for a delicious night out. For dinner, I had the Lamb and it was divine. My boyfriend ordered the Sweet Tea Pork Chop; we both completely cleared our plates! This was the first time we sat on the porch area and we really enjoyed the outside atmosphere at Saluda's. My only gripe was that I love browsing menus prior to dining, and the menu posted on their website was not the menu in use that night. The only issue in this was that I was excited to try an item that was not offered that night."

I noted that we were celebrating our anniversay, but it was not acknowledged in any way by the restaurant or server. The service was attentive & the food was outstanding. Reasonable food & drink prices. We sat outside & had great view. I would recommend this restaurant."

  • "These folks deliver reliably excellent food and personable, professional service every time. I don't find the "ambiance" particularly stimulating, but it's in no sense a downer unless you're pathological about ballcaps and flipflops on the people around you. Two quibbles this time. I checked the online menu and allowed my mouth to water all day in anticipation of the bourbon osso buco, only to be told that it had been taken off the menu two days previously. This should not happen. An incorrect online menu is worse than no online menu, IMHO. Also, we were there early in the evening, and the greens were tough; an hour later, they were likely fine, but the greens I tasted were not ready for their closeup."

  • "My wife and I choose Saluda's for Father's day. Great Choice! We started with fried green tomato's topped with barbecue and coleslaw (delicious), then tried one of Chef Blake's new creations, fresh fruit salad. Wonderful blend of fresh berries (some were pickled) which made and explosion of flavor in my mouth. This has to be the most unusual and creative combination of refreshing fruits that I've ever eaten! Shrimp and grits was great as well as the grouper my wife had and the deserts were delightful and tasty! John did a great job serving! We felt special the whole time we were there. Best restaurant in town! Thanks Saluda's, we'll be back soon!"

  • "Service and food were so so, not meeting the expectation of a fine dining restaurant. Service was slow due to some private large party. The pork chop was over cooked. The stuffed grouper was fair and on the dry side. The duck was slightly under-cooked but it was the best entree at our table. Dessert was good but expected more from Saluda in variety and taste."

  • "Visited on a Sunday evening. 3 diners-excellent service. 3 different entrees all beautifully presented. Pork Chop: "best I have ever eaten." Shrimp and grits: "excellent taste, sufficient number of shrimp, needed more grits, however." Ribeye ordered Medium rare: flavorful; prepared rare; either the steak knife wasn't sharp enough or the beef was unbelievably tough; spent several minutes trying to cut through sinews and chewing sufficiently to swallow without choking; have consumed tripe with less effort." Did NOT inform server. If this is typical, recommend that ribeye be removed from the menu. Will consider a return visit, but will not order steak."

  • "We took out of town friends here for dinner and had another enjoyable meal on the balcony. Though the restaurant is upscale, it's not stuffy---we took our 2 year old and our friends brought their newborn. Sitting on the balcony is a bit noisier, but the white noise is good for kids (the newborn slept through dinner, and our daughter's chatter didn't bother anyone). The food was excellent as usual (the pork chop is always amazing) and everything came out quickly. Service was great. I drink a lot of water and appreciate when servers notice and keep my glass filled!"

  • "We have been to Saluda's a half dozen times and chose it to celebrate our anniversary this year. We decided to sit outdoors on the balcony for the first time. It turns out that two guys in the park across the street decided to "serenade" the public with a trombone and tuba duet. Well it was not good, but it was loud! The food was great (as usual) and did not disappoint, but our service was very slow and not as attentive as our previous experiences. Still like Saluda's and will return - just won't sit outdoors next time."

  • "Like always, everything was out standing. My wife and daughter order steaks and my wife wanted median rare, but close to well. My daughter wanted well. When they received the steaks it was not median rare close to well and my daughter was not well done. We told our waiter and he was more than glad to take the steaks back for them to be cook the correct way. James was very understanding and he apologized for the mistakes. Everything turned out great. We also enjoy going to Saluda's. Thank you. "

  • "We went to Saluda's on a Sunday evening about 5:30. They were not busy at that time but it was picking up while we were there. Food was excellent-a small but nicely varied menu with specials each night. Will go back. The eggplant appetizer was most excellent. Lamb Osso Buco was very tender and flavorful. Ribeye was a good size and juicy. Did not have dessert as we were full and took half the steak home but they had coffee Creme' Brulee' and we would have shared that. Used a Group-on. "

We had previously gone to Saluda's for a romantic evening so we knew the inside of the restaurant was a little more quiet than maybe a birthday party would warrant. We asked to sit outside and I'm so glad we did. While the environment was much more suited to our laughing and chatting group, the food and service remained exemplary. We enjoyed some of the specials and also I browsed the cocktail menu which included several drinks I had never had before. The basil grapefruit punch I ordered was refreshing and suited the warm evening very well. I highly recommend Saluda's and hope to make it out for future celebrations."
