  • "We celebrated our anniversary at Salty's and it was supurb! We had a window table with that view of the city that is 2nd to none. The food was excellent, as was the service. We came all the way from Redmond in rush hour traffic for this experience and were not disappointed. As said by General Douglas MacArthur, "I shall return"."

  • "Salty's is a fantastic spot for the view and the food. Service is excellent. A little expensive, but happy hour prices are extremely reasonable. The view alone is worth the price of admission! We sat on the outdoor deck near the water with a wonderful Seattle view at sunset. Great place for meeting friends and just hanging out away from the city traffic and noise. Salty's has been a special spot for me for meeting friends and having celebrations over the years, so it's always fun to be there. Staff is friendly and very responsive to your wishes. Highly recommend this spot in Seattle. Although the restaurants in Seattle are praised, there are not many that actually deliver the goods like Salty's!"

  • "View of downtown skyline nothing short of impressive. Busy place for dinner, but promptly seated with reservation. Very good menu with plenty of seafood choices. Recommend this place!"

  • "We had out of town guests that were visiting Seattle for the first time so we thought what would be a restaurant that would have a great view and great seafood - Salty's fit the requirement and we weren't disappointed."

  • "Pros: Great view, great waitress, received nice table as requested (it was our anniversery) Cons: overpriced, food presentation average at best, old (not nearly as nice as a venue like Palisades)"

  • "We went for our anniversary dinner and the food was nearly raw (fish) and the value non-existent. Service was excellent though and the view was stunning! Not a "do over"."

  • "After a 20 minute wait, we had the best table in the house, window with a sweeping view of the bay and a friendly, efficient server. Unfortunately the food did not match up except for the fried offerings. I had the Snow Pass salmon. It was cooked just right but the bed of broccoli, one of my favorites, was almost tasteless, even withe the golden raisins. The tomato topping was way too powerful for the already flavorful fish. I scrapped it off and ate it with the flatbread. My husband ordered the honey basted salmon. His portion was small and the sauce was much to sweet and overpowering. The accompanying potatoes were a good touch. It felt like the chef really doesn't like salmon?"

  • "We had a 6:15 reservation for a Birthday dinner and had requested outside seating. We arrived 45 minutes early and were told it'll be a little wait, so we went to the bar. 1:45 min later we were finally seated after speaking to several waiters, Mgr, etc.(Also stating it was a Birthday celebration) When we were finally seated by the manager, we were placed in the far corner of the back deck. He told us then he could move us to the first table below on the water once they got it set up, so we said yes. He then gave us a comp appetizer. When we finally got seated at the other table it was great (but still no balloons or mention of birthday). The meal was great, but when it came time for the dessert, no birthday mention."

  • "Salty's was a perfect location with impressive views for an intimate dinner with immediate family the night before my son's wedding. Two appetizer trios & a couple of clam chowders for a table of 12 proved to be a perfect amount & each selection was fabulous. My 17-yr old grandson, from Nashville, ordered a filet & said it was the best steak he had ever had. He eats a lot of steak! The remaining diners, from my 13-yr old granddaughter to my 99 yr old dad, had some sort of DELICIOUS seafood. We shared 2 wonderful desserts & the waiter brought two more complimentary desserts for the bride & groom. The waiter was attentive & very accommodating, bringing extra utensils for tasting! All in all - a DELIGHTFUL evening."

  • "Our dining at Salty's West Seattle was fantastic. Quite pricey, but well worth it. The bar staff was great while we waited for our table. Our waiter Cody was superb, taking time with us to explain the menu, lend us binoculars and provide excellent service. The food was awesome and we will make it a point to return on our next trip to Seattle."

  • "Our table of four were delightfully surprised by the great experience at Salty's. Mary our server was not only sweet but very knowledgeable about our wine choice and food choices as well. Great food, and too top it all off we had a beautiful ride home in a limo with driver James who told us Canadians a lot about your beautiful city. Great experience!!!! Was a little more expensive then what we were expecting, but food was excellent."

  • "Salty's, we love you, but the slow service has to improve. We were sat at 7:40 p.m., and didn't leave until 10 p.m. Granted the rest of our group arrived at 8 p.m., but it took forever to get drinks and food, and even then our waiter was nowhere to be found when we wanted drink refills or extras."

  • "Salty's has upped it's game. We have eaten there many times over the years. It's not just for out of town guests anymore. It was an outstanding experience from start to dazzling finish (baked Alaska and decadent huckleberry ice cream to die for)! Lorcan made our evening and was so professional, yet funny. It was like having a great friend pop over to our table. Our server was lovely, (I think her name was Megan), food was interesting, perfectly prepared and worth every penny. I can't say enough. We will now be regular, local diners. Thank you, Salty's. It was a memorable night."

  • "From the spectacular view from of the Seattle skyline to Mt. Rainier Salty's is a great experience from start to finish. The décor is bright and colourful and surrounds you with a nautical environment. The minute you sit down you will notice the exceptional friendliness and professional service. This night we share the Chilled Colossal Prawns and the sampling from their daily oysters tier. Everything was extremely fresh and presented in wonderfully simple plating. I was my lucky night and ordered the special of grilled halibut and an amazing seafood risotto. There is also a nice wine selection and fresh deserts. I definitely recommend if you are in the area you put this gem on you must do list."

  • "Great service and delicious food sum it all up! For a first time dining experience at this restaurant it has to have been one of the best ever! The view across the bay towards the city is spectacular, even on a cloudy day! A must go for anyone who hasn't been before. Can't wait until we can go back!"

  • "The food was a great as ever. The waiter was exceptional! Trace was awesome. He has a great sense of humor and timing. He anticipated all our needs. We all had a great time and can't wait to do it again. The food is eclipsed only by the view of Seattle."

  • "This is hands down the best brunch buffet I've ever had. The fact that you get donuts as you walk in was amazing. Our waitress was over the top great. I highly recommend this place if you're in Seattle."

  • "I went here for brunch with my husband for our wedding anniversary, and it was absolutely amazing. The food and service both lived up to the Salty's name. I can't wait to go back."

  • "Our family chose to celebrate my retirement of 30 years in WA school libraries & my husband's 70th birthday. Our party of 5 adults & 2 granddaughters, 2 & 8 years old. Our selected corner window was perfect. It allowed for our toddler granddaughter to move about. She & her cousin were treated to see a Jewish wedding, a tug boat pulling a load & a black seal diving & surfacing. Of course their grandparents, mommy & daddy all had these views. Buffet was visually pleasing, artistically displayed, inviting to the eye. Eat me it called out to each of us...to a 2 & 8 year old & their 70-year-old grandpa. Our 8-year-old granddaughter ate her first raw oyster, "Hmm pretty good." Everyone made a few trips..all food choices were delectable."

  • "I was entertaining out-of-town guests and live in Seattle. I choose Saltys for the seafood, view, and proximity to the water taxi. I was actually quite disappointed!!! Our service was slow, not very friendly nor helpful. It was very loud eapecially when the band began to play downstairs for a wedding reception....at least let us know ahead of time!! The food was warm not hot and my salmon was raw inside...I opted to not send it back as I was just looking forward to leaving at this point. In a town like Seattle....I would expect more from a higher end seafood restaurant...so many too choose from....based on this experience saltys definitely does not get my vote!!!!!"

  • "We had a very nice dinner with a great view of the Seattle skyline. Food and service was superior. We were a bit disappointed with the serving portions of the entrees considering the high cost of the items. Really that was the only negative for the whole dining experience."

  • "We always bring out of town guests here for the great view and delicious seafood! Salty's never fails to impress on every level. We know we can always count on it being a very special occasion for our guests."

  • "We were disappointed with our entrees. I had the Maine lobster tail, which I was willing to pay $59 for, but was disappointed that it was over cooked (tough) and significantly oversalted. My husband had the halibut special, which was mediocre at best in the preparation. Decor needs a facelift. View is outstanding and wine was good. Appetizers were better than the entrees. For $200 it was not the meal we expected. We won't be returning soon despite being foodies new to West Seattle who love to dine on the water"

  • "Friendly service and beautiful views of Seattle skyline. But I was not impressed with the food. Expected a higher quality given their menu prices. I'll go for brunch next time."

  • "We have not been at Salty's at Alki for a few years; what a huge disappointment! We went with family members to enjoy seafood and the view. The service: my crab cake was missed and brought late. The popular chowder was pasty and not even hot. The OMG cocktail tasted more like grapefruit juice than anything else! The prices were exorbitant for the quality of the food. There are so many choices in Seattle; don't make the choice to have dinner at Salty's."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "On the way to our table the hostess interviewed me in such depth I thought I was talking to a census taker -- long form. Our server was so chummy it bordered on intimate. When he knelt down in front of my son's girlfriend to explain some bizarre chef's special, I got the impression he was about to propose. And then there were the stange flourishes of the giant wrought iron gizmo holding our appetizers (We asked him to take it away) and a pepper grinder only slightly smaller than the Space Needle. In short, we felt trapped inside an intrusive, orchestrated marketing strategy. The food was good (consistent with the high prices) but long on protein and very short on salad greens. The view is great, but just leave us to enjoy it, please."

  • "The view from Salty's is terrific. It is probably the best view of the Seattle skyline from any restaurant in the city. That being said, the food is mediocre at best and exceptionally over-priced. For a restaurant that claims to specialize in seafood, the selection is limited and without imagination. There are many similarly priced seafood restaurants in town with significantly better selections and better food (e.g., SeaStar). So if it is the view that you are looking for (and that's why I went this time to entertain out of town guests), Salty's is a great choice. Just bring lots of money. If it is great seafood that you are looking for, go somewhere else."

  • "Outside of the Space Needle this is most likely the best view in Seattle. The service was excellent and the seafood was nice. The view of the Seattle Skyline at sunset and lit up after that was amazing ..."

  • "I can probably lame myself for not ordering seafood. The prime dip sliders were awful. Overcooked greasy beef on very sweet rolls. Not a good pairing. The service and atmosphere were terrific."
