We took our family that is visiting from out of town for brunch and had a wonderful time. We were seated right at the window with an amazing view of Elliott Bay on a beautiful day in Seattle. The view was matched by the excellent food on the brunch buffet, with too much to list. Our guests had a great time and it will be a lasting memory of their trip here and I am sure we will be back as more guests come to visit.

Have been to Saltys many times for lunch, dinner, brunch and happy hour. Brunch on Sundays is too crowded, chaotic, noisy, long wait for seating and food. Food quality is great and our server was nice...but save your visit for another time or event vs brunch.

My wife and I came here for our 1 year wedding anniversary. I made reservations and when we got there at 6:00pm (our reserved time) they asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. It was nice out so we said out side. We were told 10 minutes, but we can sit in the bar. We went to the bar and service was very slow and it took 15 minutes to get greeted. we finally got out table after 25 minutes had passed. They sat us right next to a door where there was a lot of traffic from servers and guest. The server did not acknowledge that we were there for our anniversary. I only mention that because, I over heard another server ask why they came in.

Sorry - great view, but the food was not nearly good enough for the price. Much was served cold or undercooked and all was way too salty and covered in butter. Also, despite a booking and phone confirmation we were seated almost 30 minutes late.

We felt like we were on a wonderful vacation when we ate at Salty's (even though we live in Seattle). Great atmosphere with outdoor seating right next to the water. Great view of Seattle. Loved the visit from the seal who played around right near the shore. We loved the food too- all of us ordered different varieties of fish, the fish soup - and dessert of course. Fabulous! Our waitress was patient and offered suggestions when asked. Loved her too.

I have visited Saltys on Alki a couple of times and each time the Salmon lacked flavor, just uninspired. The clam chowder was also lacking. This most recent visit was on a Sunday evening at about 7:30 and it was uncomfortably warm. The service was excellent with the waiter really making us feel special so much so I felt I couldn't complain but later I felt My money would have been better spent elsewhere.

I have been to Saltys many times; I find their food and service to be great. I had heard that the weekend brunch was amazing. I hadn't been, so when a friend had a birthday; I suggested we go. The food was good. It was fresh and there was plenty of it. The look and feel of the buffet was great. We even got sat outside, which was great and what a view! However, that was where it all ended. The server seemed less then enthused to be there. Almost seeming put out off to explain the buffet to us and then having to make a bloody mary. There were only two place settings and I had to get a third. Fresh silverware and drink refills were always late in coming. Nothing was ruined, but it is true that a server makes or breaks the experience.

One of the members of our group is deathly allergic to crab & prawn SHELLS. Yet our visitors from San Diego love Dungeness crab. To solve this dilemma I asked our waitress if she could have the chef crack the crab in the kitchen and then serve the crab meat to our guests. Without hesitation she did and voila', it was a lovely brunch. Fabulous Service - thank you!

We booked this at the last minute looking for some great food and views and were very happy with both. Our waitress was really nice and most dishes were very good. I would give the restaurant 5 stars but the dessert was pretty bad. It was a banana/ chocolate combo which just didn't work. We were willing to give it a try because chocolate and anything should be OK, right? Well, not this time. And we thought - you can hardly wreck chocolate so even if we didn't like the banana part, we would be fine but even that was dry and boring. So go for everything but the funky dessert. We had another white cake with fruit that was good so there are some alternatives.

It was great, I also recommend the oysters and a nice Washington Riesling to wash it all down while enjoying the great view of the amazing city of Seattle. After dinner why not take a stroll on Alki beach which is just up the road. This place is worth a trip over on the water taxi or the drive.

The server did a great job. However we had a reservation over a week in advance with a added note that requested a window seat. When we arrived, we were given a seat higher up. Still a great seat, but not the best, and when you make a reservation the expectation is likely that you will get the best seat. The reason I KNOW this is because the hostess admitted that they do not reserve the best seats, and I thought this was completely ridiculous.

Seafood at Salty's is always fresh and delicious. This time we took our 12-year old. He loves shrimp and pasta. He did not see a shrimp pasta on the menu so he ordered pasta with shrimp added. The waitress asked how many shrimps would you like. He said four. When we received our check we were charged $6 per shrimp, making his entrée over $60. Personally, I felt this was a rip-off.

Salty's is a great restaurant. I've dined there more than a dozen times in the past year. Their brunches are superb. Even a great restaurant can turn out a bum meal, though. On my last visit, my dining partner and I ordered live Maine lobster after being told the kitchen had run out of lobster tails. The lobster we were served was over cooked and had an off-flavor. I should have said something at the the time, but didn't. The tab (for 2) exceeded $200. Lesson learned.

My boyfriend was in town from another state and wanted a good seafood dinner. I took him to Salty's. We had a two-top corner table with an AMAZING view of the city and the sound. The service was amazing, the waiter was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He was able to describe the dishes in a way that made me want to order everything on the menu and knew what wine to pair it with. We saw a seal on one of the buoys out on the water and he brought binoculars so we could see better. I couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. I definitely recommend the baked Alaska for dessert too!

Consider me a brunch regular at Salty's. This is my husband and I's go-to for a great brunch date or work group celebration. We haven't had much time lately and went for our first summer visit on Sunday; I was disappointed and sad. To start, it was extremely hot in there. Maybe the air conditioning broke but I was fearful to drink my hot coffee! The service was very slow compared to any other experience. She seemed to keep forgetting our drinks but remembering neighboring tables. Not too friendly either. The hashbrowns and gravy were overly salted (never like this before). This was the first visit I did not feel my money was well spent. Then, valet brought the wrong car back to us & we were told "he's new". I will give another try in 3wks.

Went for Sunday brunch. Very large selection. Dungeness crab and snow crab legs, oysters, mussels, clams and shrimp. Add thick omlets, dollar pancakes and fresh waffles! Lines can be long and the shuckers could not keep up with the demand for raw oysters. There is something for everyone, and everything is cooked simply, but deliciously. Great for big family gatherings. Management does ask you to limit your mealtime to 90 mins, but unsure how they enforce that. We stayed a bit over an hour and saw big families who were there when we arrived and still eating heartily when we left.

We had eaten there before but the food this time wasn't nearly as well prepared and cooked. At window table, the music level was so loud that we could only hear our waiter with great difficulty and could not have a normal conversation. I asked the hostess to have the music reduced and explained the problem. She took care of it. Diners at neighboring tables thanked me. Then the music returned louder than ever. She reduced it again and then it returned to high level. I asked for the manager. He said, "Ma'am, we like that level of music for ambience." His choice reduced an art-filled, wonderful restaurant into a single-bar vibe where everyone wants to have to make body contact to have a conversation. The food and waiter were superb, but I am wary of bring guest there again.

We came here for a date night away from the kids while on vacation. The Seafood Brochette was amazing! The Hidden Falls Coho Salmon (a special) had an unappetizing yellow sauce on top. I couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be or why it was there. It had little flavor. I scraped it off and was happy with the fish and the tomato risotto. We ordered the Going Bananas dessert. It was over flavored. It had a very strong banana taste and the rum was very strong too. I wouldn't recommend it. Our server, Gracia, was friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. Terrific view!

We got a recommendation to go to Salty's on our trip to Oregon. First try -Sunday - Only Brunch for $50. We passed. On our way back to the Seattle airport we tried again. We wanted to be on the water. They gave us a table outside but it was in the "third row". We would have preferredv being by the water and not in the back row. The food was wonderful! Flatbread was great but split! The Alaskan Cod fish sandwich was very good!! NOTE: a table next to us had an irate couple that insisted on getting the evening menu (steaks) which was clearly not on lunch menu. Made the waiter feel terrible and they did get their steak! Pretty nice of the kitchen.

We celebrated our anniversary at Salty's and it was supurb! We had a window table with that view of the city that is 2nd to none. The food was excellent, as was the service. We came all the way from Redmond in rush hour traffic for this experience and were not disappointed. As said by General Douglas MacArthur, "I shall return".
