What I do appreciate more tan anything is the fact the servers did not refer to us as "you guys" or "hi guys". Totally unacceptable and disrespectful, which is becoming more and more prevalent.
I truly feel the young servers think this is being friendly, but I assure you, people old enough to be their grandparents do not like being addressed in this manner.
So I give Salty's higher marks for training their staff the art of talking with the public. It is a less formal location than the Salty's on Alki and much more relaxed. We have always enjoyed the crab & artichoke dip, as always this did not disappoint. We brought friends with us this time and they were totally blown away by the food and the view. My wife had the salmon over golden potatoes, she said the salmon was cooked just right (not dry and not gelatinous which seems to be the trend these days for salmon). Our friends had the halibut and the steak w/cracked blue cheese. Both very excited for this meal and neither talked much while eating as they were very into the experience. They were doing a buffet, which was SO much fun because we were able to try a little of everything. We had tons of crab legs, blackened salmon, all the classic breakfast items (the bacon was thick cut & super tasty) and we sampled from the desert buffet....pie, chocolates, scones,chocolate fondue......there was a ton of food! They were giving away tomato plants and complimentary photos which they printed out right there for you to all the moms. It was a lovely experience, we stayed for 2 hours and never once felt rushed by our waitress. Service was spot on, food was amazing, ambiance was just what we were looking for to treat our mom with!
