Diner Reviews
  • "The patio, food and bar specials were all excellent"

  • "My wife and I went to Salty's for the first time 18 years ago and talked about it ever since. We went back to Seattle for vacation and had to put it on the must do list again."

  • "This is really a nice location with great views of Puget Sound. The seafood is fresh and good. The rest of the buffet is excellent, too. It is a bit expensive for what you get. To get value here you have to really love seafood and the sea views. We do so we come back on special occasions a few times a year. Service was polite and adequate but I was rather disappointed to never be offered a coffee refill until I specifically asked. My cup stood empty on the table for quite some time without anyone noticing."

  • "The food are excellent but service need some improvement."

  • "So it's funny that they ask you to "limit" your "dining experience" to 1 1/2 hours. Since the food took almost an hour to show up. We waited for a table outside, even though we had a reservation. The table we were seated at was open the entire time until we sat at it. The food took a long time to come except for the Truffle Fries, which are great BTW. Even the salads took a long time. Then, only part of the meals were delivered. And although the waitress was great and very personable (she took the missing food off the bill) the service was really slow and not worth the trip for the "view" from where we drove to get there. Will go to Salty's in Alki Beach next time. Too bad."

  • "I have been to Salty's at the Alki & at Redondo locations several times in the last 3 years. Of course, being at Salty's we always order a fish entrée, usually Dungeness crab. The meals have always been well prepared and the price for lunch has been reasonable. The other draw to Salty's is the friendly staff. They have been informative and accommodating for any special needs or occasions. Receiving emails is nice because there are often recipes from the chefs."

  • "We were treated special even at a brunch. We received a special dessert for our anniversary. Wonderful service"

  • "We have eaten at this location several times, and it never fails us. The salmon was perfectly prepared, and my husband loved his oysters. The recognition that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary was very sweet, and the table we had was superb."

  • "We were seated next to a very large work group dinner and could not talk to each other across the table as the noise level was way to loud. My son and I ordered the Ahi and were very disappointed in the portion size. For the amount of money you charge for this dish, to only receive 6 or 7 pieces the size of half dollar is very disappointing. We have had Ahi at other local places nad received 6 or 7 slices of Ahi which would be 2 to 3 times the amount of Ahi for the same price. So to sum up the evening, the noise level was to loud to enjoy talking to anyone at our table. The food was good, not great and the portion sizes were to small."

  • "$210 Meal for two of badly cooked Halibut cheeks and Copper River salmon-a shame for two specialty items; only highlight was the service ( and the cup of chowder ); to be avoided."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "First time at Salty's and it was fantastic! We had a beautiful evening, perfect for sitting on the deck and enjoying the outdoor atmosphere. I had the Mixed Seafood Grill and my two guests had the Copper River Salmon. All three dishes were flavorful and cooked to perfection. The seafood chowder was also very delicious. I'm not from the Seattle area but will be sure to visit Salty's again on my next visit!"

  • "Salty's is a nice older restaurant that sits right on the Redondo beach. The atmosphere is relaxing, but the food was not to die for. The menu is limited, and portions are small. Prices are high for the food. Not impressed."

  • "We were well attended to without being rushed. The food (fish tacos) was very good and the outdoor seating and sunshine made this a perfect venue to catch up with an old friend."

  • "Salty's is the closest restaurant to home and we have eaten there twice since moving here 2 months ago. The food is always good and the service excellent but be prepared to spend $100+ for 2 with wine. The seafood is excellent and always prepared in innovative and unexpected ways. If the weather is good, the outside tables are a must because the whole restaurant is on a pier and you are right on the water."

  • "We had a very enjoyable brunch. The food selection was very good. We made our reservation online and had a table the minute we walked into the restaurant. We highly recommend Salty's at Redondo Beach!"

  • "This restaurant in my opinion is very overrated. The location is nice but the food is really so-so and very expensive. There were crumbs on my chair and the window sill next to my chair. The music was loud and we got seated next to the bussing station even though we were one of the first diners to arrive after they opened. So we had to sit through silverware clanging, waiters chatting, look at water pitchers lined up, loud 70's-80's soft rock. The meals were not exceptional and nothing memorable. We didn't get any drinks and still the bill with tip fr three people was 175.00 for a couple of small appetizers and 3 dinners with no salads or chowder."

  • "I chose this restaurant for my wife and I to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. From our initial impression with the hostess through out our entire meal; we were treated as special guests. Of particular note was our server; Jared. He was attentive, polite, well-mannered, knowledgeable and took time for our concerns. We were truly blessed to have been served by Jared."

  • "Overall good food and service. Waiter was a little too laid back but did a good job. And it fit our own desire for a nice romantic evening. Great view and it was summer solstice! The sun started to set and it got a little chilly. They had a few heaters but not enough. Offered blankets, which we appreciated. Good selection of beers. We thought our appetizer was a little too greasy and was because it was fried food. Main meal a little on the small side, for what we paid. The salmon special had mashed potatoes, which were excellent but only two asparagus!"

  • "Had heard a lot about Salty's and always wanted to go there. Got together with a friend and had a great time. We bad because was on a Sat. at 5:30 but found a parking spot and a waterview table. Our waitress, Erin was busy but made everyone feel we were her only table. Our friend had gone to Salty's in Alki and said that she liked the Redondo Beach better."

  • "We're frequent visitors to Saltys in Redondo and often take out of town guests there. This week I took my best friend for her birthday celebration. The service is the best thing. Chris was our waiter this time, and despite having a huge party next to us, he gave us wonderful service, as do all the waiters there. They have women wait staff also, but we always seem to get a man."

  • "We tried it again after a bad experience on Mother's Day, it was just ok not great. The Riesling we ordered they were out of. 3 items one the menu we wanted to order they were out of. We had a new waitress and she did well for only being their a few day. The bus boy Was the best I have ever seen anywhere. He was so good not only with our table but in the entire restaurant, so much so I made a comment to the manager."

  • "You can't beat Salty's for the food and ambience. They gave great seafood. Be prepared to pay quite a bit more than normal though. A $40 bottle of wine, 1 appetizer each, one entree each, no dessert, tax and tip $277.00."

  • "Maybe a separate area for large groups that want to talk to everyone at their table?"
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "Great setting on the water....IF you get a good table. A table for 6 is tough. We wanted by the window...great view. Got seated in the back near the front door. Waiter poorly trained to handle "special" request. I wanted to pay $200 toward total bill (since my family was not prepared for the expensive check)......I secretly sought out the waiter in the back of the restaurant and asked him to put $200 on my card. When he brought the check to the table he commented "Here is your $200, sir.....the balance is for the four of you". Ughhhhh.....did not want my family to know. Embarrassing. Food was fair.....not bad/not great....very average."

  • "The food was excellent and the service outstanding. I had grilled salmon that was cooked perfectly (not over done), fingerling potatoes and asparagus and my partner had a fried (crisp, not greasy) seafood platter. It was the best meal that we had in Seattle."
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "We had 5:30 reservations but found out that happy hour is only allowed on one side ---so we did get a table on the other side but was quite close to the other tables outside and could hear conversations on both sides with chairs very close---- love the food love the view......Thanks"

  • "Had a fantastic time at Salty's celebrating birthday and anniversary"

  • "Salty's has always been a favorite of ours. We have never been disappointed with either food or service at the Seattle area restaurants we visit. On this most recent trip to Redondo even the staff not waiting on us was totally outstanding. Of course, on a beautiful evening in such a gorgeous location it's hard not to be in the best of moods. Worthy sidenote... we visited Redondo because Alki's online menu indicated bacon in their halibut dish, which we did not want. Turns out Redondo had the same item, but the chef altered it for us deliciously! Make no mistake, Salty's is expensive, and it's hard to justify frequent visits, but the special occasions that can be afforded are richly rewarded. You definitely get your money's worth."

  • "We had several issues with the bill, charged for things we didn't order, price on the menu was not the price we were charged etc. I had a salad, steamed clams and 2 drinks..that added up to $58, a bit much for what I got."

  • "We paid $15.00 for Chicken Ceasar Salad. It was barely a lunch portion. "

  • "I've been to nice restaurants, but I'm not sure I've ever been to one as expensive as Saltys.... Yikes! And the portions are very small for what you get. We will never be able to go back!"

  • "Such a beautiful place to eat outside and enjoy the sunshine. "
    Dined on 5/27/2014
  • "Great service! Interior could use an update, but the food and service was outstanding. Bread was a little stale - it tasted like it had been sitting out a couple days. Great beer list. I let the restaurant know it was a birthday, and they had balloons waiting at the table, and provided complimentary dessert. Two thumbs up!"

  • "Brunch is great and service was good. However, if you do not like seafood this brunch is not for you. Not to many items for the person who is not a seafood fan. "

  • "Best Sunday brunch we've had in the Puget Sound. Salty's brunch has been the go-to for all of my family's birthdays for the past 10 years or more."

  • "Dinner that night was my girlfriend and myself. We sat inside and had a great time. Food was great and the sevice was even better. Every single employee I came across was very polite and attentive to whatever needs we had. Great experience!"

  • "The dinner was time consuming & arrived incorrect. When received, my seafood was cold. Drinks ok. Too loud to enjoy our conversation."

  • "Went here with my two daughters in 2010, enjoyed an fantastic seafood dinner. Went back May 2014, prices were the same, but the menu, the food and the service deteriorated significantly. The new menu was very limited, with too few basic fish dishes. The staff were tripping over each other, and the main course took forever. Could have gotten the same dishes at any chain restaurant, for less. "
