During the week, the noise level is much lower which allows for easier conversation while sampling the amazing food. We LOVE this place!! The patio looks inviting and we plan to try it soon."

  • "The Salty Sow is a cool place with a good atmosphere. The service was so so. My pork roast was almost cold when I got it but the pinto beans were hot and tasty so I ate those with the guac and torts and took the pork home and ate it the following day - hot and tasty. It was a busy Friday night and I understand that these things happen so I would still recommend it and I will be going back to try some of the other dishes."

  • "This was our first visit to the Salty Sow but it won't be our last. The ambiance is great, relaxed and comfortable while being upscale at the same time. There was live music on the patio but it wasn't obnoxious or too loud in the restaurant; just sounded like acoustic background music. From the outside you'd expect it to be very dark inside, but the lighting is perfect -- not blindingly bright but just right, and not too dark at all. Service was good and friendly, and everything our waitress recommended was delicious. Everything we had -- drinks, appetizer, dinner, dessert -- was excellent. It's rare when both my husband and I enjoy a restaurant equally, but we both loved it and can't wait to go back."

  • "Our party of four enjoyed dinner ordering the PV Salad, chicken thighs, double cheese burger, and pork chili. We shared the duck fat fries and fried green tomatoes with guacamole. Everything was a thumbs up with the exception of the double cheese burger, which was ordered without a bun. The presentation was rather anemic and the taste did not separate it from the ordinary burger found everywhere. Overall a good restaurant to try."

The chicken thighs were well prepared and the sauces of each of the meals were very well done. I've been back to Salty Sow a number of times, and each time the specials that were added to the menu were also creative."

  • "First time for all four of our party at S.S. We were pleasantly surprised by the eclectic menu....we tried three appetizers (fried Brussels sprout leaves, duck fries, eggplant frites)....we all had different entrees (fried chicken thighs, beef shoulder with vegs., salmon, and beet salad with salmon) and ordered one piece of the buttermilk pie to share for dessert. Everything was delicious! Our server was Ammie and she took great care of us even though she was very busy. I do have one criticism....it was extremely noisy. It was early Friday night so the bar area was very busy but you do not want to go here if you plan on visiting with others in your party. Please consider doing something to reduce the noise....would love to visit more often."

  • "Everything we has was delicious. I suggest getting the Miss Piglet drink. It was pomegranate juice with rosemary syrup and bubbles! Delicious. I got a burger and my husband got the bacon and eggs. It was not a normal burger , it was quite possibly one the the best burgers I had ever had! Juicy and cooked to perfection. The bacon and eggs that my husband had was not a normal meal either. It was pork belly stone ground corn grits and a fried egg with a mustard gravy - yea it was amazing. We even got a dessert -which was a butterscotch pudding with salted Carmel and homemade whipped cream. I might go back just for that!!"

  • "I've driven past the Salty Sow numerous times, but since I'm not a big pig fan, I didn't give the restaurant much thought. However when we received a coupon in the mail for a free entree, my love for a deal won out. We enjoyed our appetizer, the entrees and my husband really liked his signature drink. My wine was disappointing, so I advise sticking to the long list of local brews and cocktails. We'll return to the Salty Sow...even without a coupon."

  • "I live in the neighborhood and when I saw yet another restaurant going into this building I thought it would be another dud; but I was pleasantly surprised when I took my sister (a real foodie from San Francisco) and we both had a great time. The band in the background was not so loud that we could not carry on a conversation. I had a specialty cocktail which was unique and good with Jalapeno ice cubes! The deviled eggs were yummy and I loved the Cesar salad with the bits of brussel sprouts. The beet salad was just as expected (I love beet salad and order it any place that has it), the chicken for dinner was very flavorful. I plan on returning to try the fish. I want to take many of my friends to share this new neighborhood restaurant."

  • "The menu was was not large but had a nice variety. The food was "foodie" quality. I liked the way the chef blended various elements that you wouldn't expect to be combined. Pork ragu on polenta and beef shoulder were both excellent. Wonderful comments from fellow diners on the bacon wrapped Pork Filet Mignon. The service was simply awful. We ordered bottled water; it was delivered without the cap removed(not a twist off) and no glasses. Waiter checked back once but generally could not be found. No special kids menu but I did notice that there were a number of kids, say 6 through 12, around the restaurant. It's fairly large and noisy. I would go back to try other menu items, but would want to be sure I had plenty of time."

  • "This was our second visit to the Salty Sow and this time we asked another couple to join us. Our friends have a few special food needs so dining out can be somewhat difficult. Our waiter, sorry I can't remember his name, was outstanding. He was very helpful and patient. Our food arrived as requested and as on our 1st visit was fabulous! Our only complaint is the restaurant is very loud and not easy to converse during busy serving times."

  • "The servers were professional, the drinks from the bar were incredibly slow, the food came quickly and was tasty and the noise level was way too loud. We appreciated the creative dishes, but the four of us couldn't hear one another. We were in the very back by the restrooms and back door. It was a rainy night so the servers opened the door often for two reasons: they said it was too warm in the restaurant and they were obviously smoking right outside the door which we hated. Even though we were tucked back by the restroom the entertainment was in the opposite corner but incredibly loud and it was just one guy. And if he wasn't loud enough the kitchen crew was yelling out orders and bantering with a few guys at the bar of the kitchen scene."

  • "Celebrated 2 birthdays with a group of 4. The menu is different and we got pretty adventurous with our orders, sharing small plates. The only negative I have about our entire experience was the expensive bone marrow dish -- which hardly had any marrow and wasn't true to the menu description. Otherwise, it was great...can't wait to go back and eat on the patio next time. I highly recommend."

It was a bit disappointing tht they didn't do anything special for Valentine's Day.   • "Had dinner two nights in row, by ourselves and with four friends. Everyone had a great time and excellent food. You can't go wrong with this place. Pork filet mignon is outstanding as are duck fries, halibut, ribeye steak, bone marrow app, etc. Only negatives were the special coconut cream pie--very tasteless/ordinary--and the lack of an espresso machine. We complained about the dessert and the server promptly took it off the bill. He was perplexed as we were why a restaurant of this level didn't offer espresso. The coffee they do serve is barely hot. These are minor complaints compared to the overall dining experience. Try it."

  • "Foodie friends recommended the Salty Sow and so wanted to give it a try. The staff was accommodating from the moment we walked in and our waitress was a big help with the menu. We went with another couple which gave us a better chance to sample the menu. We started with 3 appetizers: pork taco, eggplant frites and deviled eggs. All were great, but personally I loved the deviled eggs. My wife loves eggplant and the our friends loved everything. Dinner was no disappointment. Two of us had the halibut which was the best restaurant halibut I've ever had. Bottom line - it really didn't matter what we ordered because everything was really good. We all agreed that we'll be back. SS is a great concept with near-flawless execution."

  • "We had been looking forward to having dinner here for quite a while with friends. The decor is nicely done, the noise not too bad, the wait staff helpful, but the food was just average. We were there only 9 days ago and I can't even tell you what I ate. No memorable flavors in anything. It was just okay. Even the special Salty Sow martini was boring! Couldn't taste the cream cheese and bacon stuffed olives at all. There are so many other fun, memorable meals to be had in Phoenix that I wouldn't rush over here."
