Diner Reviews
  • "The food and service was very good but the place is dated and in need of refurbishing. The fish tank is terrific but not a reason to dine there. "

  • "We were in a hunt for delicious food in PNC Beach. We were there already for a few days and were not impressed with the food. This dining experience however changed our opinions. You must go there if you visit Panama City Beach. The food is expensive but delicious! "

  • "We were visiting PCB for the first time and wanted a restaurant to celebrate my birthday. All of us loved the food and the portions were pretty sizeable. I had the smallest cut of the Prime Rib and it tasted great. We had a very pleasant server; but the service could have been faster. I wasn't sure if it was the server or kitchen. While my food was good it wasn't piping hot which tells me it could have been a server issue, but i'm not sure. There are two sides to the restaurant. To the left seems to be more family oriented but the accomodations are not as nice as on the right. The right side of the restaurant is a little louder but the setting and furniture make for a nicer setting and more appropriate based on the cost to dine."

  • "I brought my Brother there for his B'day. First, our waiter was great. Never had to wait between courses, glasses always full. It was just a great experience and I will be back."

  • "Not only was our food delicious, Victoria was an amazing server! She is a high energy, genuinely friendly person, and fun! We couldn't believe it when she told us she's only worked there a couple of weeks-she knew her stuff! We will definitely be back on our next visit to PCB! So much better than that other more commercial seafood restaurant in town."

  • "As usual, the food, hospitality, and service were superb. Verey consistent from one visit to the next."

  • "With two of us requiring a gluten-free diet, this is the BEST restaurant we have ever visited! The choices were more, the menu was clearly marked, and the food was simply amazing! Unlike most restaurants, they did not charge extra for gluten-free fried foods. Can't wait to visit again!"

  • "I loved the unique entree choices, and I wasn't let down by my meal. I had the Snapper NOLA, and it exceeded my expectations!"

  • "I made a reservation for 5. We were placed at a table for 4. Our waitress was rude. I was very disappointed compared to our previous visits."

  • "We ordered from the early bird menu and the main menu. Definitely worth it! Our 2 year old..wanted the calamari plate - all of it! Fresh bread always. Mahi was very tasty, jumbo shrimp yum, the ragu wasn't the best but it was still good. The aquarium is absolutely stunning..the first thing you see when you walk in. AWESOME! We eat there every time we come to town."

  • "Food was amazing and we made a reservation for 10 and they say us very soon after there was not much waiting at all for such a big group. Service was fun and very good. Had large portions of food so you definitely got your money's worth. Definitely a place I'd go to again."

  • "This restaurant was highly recommended by several people who work at the resort we were staying at. We were, however, very disappointed. We had a reservation for 4 people and were seated immediately. Then we waited over an hour to get our salads. Two tables of 4 and a table of 8 were seated after us and they got their food before us. The outside temperature was 50 degrees, but the air conditioning was so cool we ate with our coats on. Even after complaining to the staff, conditions did not improve. We couldn't enjoy the live piano music because of how noisy the restaurant was. The food was good, but all the other issues detracted from our dining experience."

  • "We finally found a clean upscale restaurant that served excellent food -has not been the experience so far in this area. We were happy to find this restaurant. It was very busy with all ages -we were seated in a nice quiet corner table for 2. We were pleasantly surprised to find a piano player ! in our corner. Our waitress Michele was excellent and most pleasant. We found the menu interesting and varied.. Our meals were excellent -highly recommend this eating establishment."

  • "We have been in the area for 10 days now and have eaten at many different restaurants - two days left and we're going to go back a second time. We usually do this for the "BEST" restaurants on our trip. Had another in mind too, but that one is mostly outdoor dining and it's cold today :)"

  • "May be a bit pricey, but well worth it. Our waitress was friendly and helpful - in fact all the staff were friendly. Especially enjoyed the $5 lemon chiffon martini. Our new favorite restaurant in PCB."

  • "Early Dining option is an excellent value and the food, especially the prime rib is great. Save room for the dessert sampler, plenty of sweets for 3-4 people to share."

  • "Their wine list was nice and the food was good, but it was nothing impressive. The bar happy hour specials were also a bit unclear, and that was paid for- literally and regretfully. But the main restaurant- we were there on a Saturday night from about 5:30-7:45 (bar then dinner). The restaurant became INCREDIBLY crowded around 7, when the pianist arrived. It was a catch-22: calm quiet dining, or lovely music with conversation volume similar to a club. The food, like said, was good, but for the price, I was hoping for either a bit more food or a bit better-tasting food. The Bonefish Grill in PC across the bridge offers a much better value for what you get on your plate and in your glass; we'll be returning there next time instead."

  • "My wife and I enjoyed this resto recently. When you get in the front door be prepared for the 25,000 gallon salt water aquarium- it's about 24' x 16' x 7ft high- fabulous. We booked for an early meal- They have a 4.00-5.30pm menu( like a table d'hote) for the early crowd( coincides with the happy hour drinking clients). I had fried calamari and my wife chose firecracker shrimp in an Asian ( Thai?) sauce- delicious. Second course was soup for me( vegetable beef) an a house salad for my wife.) Entrees were beef tenderloin and stuffed Chicken breast( mozzarella and prosciutto- another hit here. We finished off with desserts- chocolate crème brulee and key lime pie( a touch too dry for my liking) Over all a very satisfying meal"

  • "Tina and I discovered you via word of mouth early in January 2014. We since made SWG a weekly occasion. We have quite a collection of glasses from your wonderful peach daiquiri's! We have sampled every meal from the early evening menu and have found all are equally great meals. Your chef's are to be complimented on the preparation and presentation of the entire menu. In addition the staff are complete professionals. They are full of information and so willing to share it all. The friendliness is outstanding. We have only four weeks left of our winter stay and needless to say we will continue our weekly visits to your gem of a restaurant."

  • "My husband and I moved here almost 2 years ago and my husband said, "This is the best meal out we have had in Florida." I couldn't agree more. I got the grouper and he got lamb and we savored every bite. We were not impressed with the twice baked potatoe, but we very impressed with everything else. We will definitly be back! It is a little pricey, so for us we may be able to go once every 3 months or so."

  • "Be seated by 5:30 and you can order from the early bird menu, where dinners are less than $17. The fish was excellent and the beef melted in my mouth. Really nice dinner experience and it looked like a largely local crowd. I recommend getting a reservation; it can be crowded (for good reason). This isn't a tourist trap restaurant, folks!"

  • "We went for the early bird special. Our server was very nice and the food was good. We had several drinks, but did. It care for them. I'll go back to eat, but not for the drinks."

  • "Overall very disappointed with this restaurant. It was loud and noisy, service was slow, and the food was only "okay". Our entres included the sirloin steak, grouper, red snapper, and scallops. The first three of these were reported to be "just average". The rosotto (scallop dish) was so salty I couldn't eat it. I notifed the server and she did nothing to fix the problem. The lobster bisque was good. The raspberry bread pudding with raspberry ice cream, both made there, was also "just average". The prices were quite high for the quality of food and the very noisy atmosphere, with entres $27-$30 each. A bottle of low-end wine, entres, and two shared desserts came to more than $200 for the four of us, including tip. I can't recommend!"

  • "Food was not specilal. Prime rib was dry. Ahi tuna wrapprd in pastry tasted like canned tuna, Dining room was bare tile floor and not decorated. Main menu is probably better, But avoid the early specials."

  • "My husband and I eat out frequently and Salt Water Grille is our favorite restaurant. We prefer to eat on the water but the huge salt water aquarium is beautiful. We had a nice table near the piano bar. It is enjoyable music for dining. Our service was good except the waitress did not seem to want me to have wine. Our bread and water was brought out in a reasonable amount of time. I reminded her of my wine order about 15 minutes after getting our bread and she brought it right away. I asked for another glass of wine when we were nearly through eating our meal and never received it. No big deal -- very busy night. So thankful for Open Table to be able to reserve table."

  • "Outstanding service, delicious meal highlighted by perfectly cooked prime rib and an excellent salad, all at early bird prices, made this the best restaurant of our vacation thus far. The phenomenal aquarium visible from the entrance area and both dining areas was a real bonus."

  • "The Early Bird Specials truly are special. There is a nice range of entree's and the happy hours drinks are also wonderful. I heartily recommend this restaurant."

  • "We visited this restaurant and did not realize we would be there before the early bird special was over. It was very busy, but we ended up ordering off the early bird menu--excellent salad, entree, and service. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, in spite of being very busy. We will definitely return."

  • "We had a lovely dinner for two while on vacation in Panama City Beach. Great table in a little alcove, service by our waiter, Warren, was exceptional. My husband's prime rib was delicious and cooked perfectly! Being a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised by a wonderful broiled vegetable combination. The presentation was beautiful and very tasty. Would definitely return in the future!"

  • "Our party of four was seated a few minutes past our reservation. The huge aquarium makes waiting more pleasant. Our waitress was friendly and helpful though very busy. I had the grouper imperial, topped by excellent crab meat. My husband had a Greek salad topped with shrimp and crab he also pronounced very good. We also enjoyed the tart key lime pie."
