  • "A great meal. Very good service. Simple, not fussy, delicious and relaxed."

  • "Made reservations at 8:30, but didn't get sat until 9:45. Ordered a $7 appetizer....it was literally only 2 pieces of toast..... Dinner came at 10:30, mashed potatoes were made from powder, and super watery. Overall, not worth the $115!! Would never recommend this place."

  • "Both my friend and I had the Bookworm sandwich. In reality, it was a ham and cheese sandwich, but was it GOOD!! Add a little hot sauce and it was a great meal - not super filling, but still, really a pleasant experience."

  • "Salt's Cure is wonderful-not only superb food, but the wait staff is knowledge and attentive. I would recommend this for brunch and lunch anytime."

  • "Live down the street. Always walk by with my pup and see a line. Finally went in with an out-of-state guest. Loved it. Had the chicken liver to start. I highly recommend that. Followed it with the NY strip. Divine. Melted in my mouth. Perfect cut, perfectly cooked. Finished the meal with stickey toffee (or date) pudding. It was incredible. I can't decide what I liked most. It's an adorable find. I've tried their dinner and must return for some brunch!!"

  • "Salt's Cure is a peak into the future. The food is well prepared and very tasty. What you get is meat from organically grazed animals. There is an attempt to follow the philosophy of using the entire animal, from tail to snout so there is less waste."

  • "Sizeable portions of bespoke deliciousness served with haste and grace without any sense of pretense."

  • "I enjoyed Salt's Cure and would go back, although I don't know that it quite lives up to the hype. I had the famous pork chop, which was flavorful but a tad dry. Waldorf salad was hard to eat and too fancy for it's own good. The appetizers are the best part...stick to cured meat and you won't go wrong."

  • "The food, in general, was good. They were creative in their combinations and some flavors, the pea pure', was excellent as were the pretzel role and baby broccoli. It, however, fell short on the pork chop. I was told it was the house specialty. I found it fatty and lacking in flavor. It looked great but turned out to be boring. Our waiter was very good, friendly, energetic and helpful with suggestions. We found the rest of the staff friendly also. The venue was warm and maybe a bit loud. I recommend the place but steer clear of the pork chop!"

  • "Homemade ketchup, homemade strawberry jam, meat so honest it's butchered in the back. There is a real commitment here to honest food. Food that comes to the plate straight as possible from a natural farmer. It's like being in a farmers kitchen. Hearty and simple this place offers food to fuel and ground you. The complexity of flavour is designed for you to find it in the authentic taste of the beef or pork or oats. There is no foam or crazy combinations of multiple ingredients but there is an offer of going deeper into the complexity of basic food. Bravo for your bare food as it is enough in itself. Loved it. Will go back for sure."

  • "I love this place. I've been here 3 or 4 times and enjoyed it every time. Food is delicious, especially the house-made sausage. We all had breakfast but also split a baby kale salad (because it's healthy to have bacon if you balance it with kale). I love their salads here because they have a light touch with the dressing without losing out of flavor. Service here is always very friendly. And I love that they play music off an actual turn-table - the music here is analog, just like the food. Love."

  • "I wanted to like this restaurant a lot, locally sourced ingredients, etc. Sadly it did not live up to my expectations. Fair at best."

  • "The food is simply prepared but absolutely delicious and flavorful. Our main entrée was the red Hampshire pork chop with a side of mash potatoes. The chop is about 2 inches thick! For dessert we enjoyed the date/toffee pudding and mint chocolate chip ice cream. Service was friendly and timely too."

  • "We are from Philadelphia and we are visiting LA for the weekend while on our SoCal trip. Our food was so delicious. We had the 1/2 chicken , sea bass, beef tartar, brocolli, kale salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. My personally favorite the chicken. I will defiantly be craving this place when I'm back on the east coast. Also our reservation was on time and service was excellent !"

  • "Don't serve å la carte at these prices in this restaurant it's too pretensious. Food was fine, we would never go back becasue of all these factors and I can get a better meal at a thousand other places."

  • "Although, the food was amazing, the rest of the experience is not worth going back for. The tables are crammed too close together, the music is not condusive to enjoying a good meal and the overall ambiance is lacking beauty. I understand this restaurant caters to the hipster crowd but the food and prices don't match the rest of the experience. The excellent food and high prices say "welcome, people of means who appreciate well-prepared quality cuisine" and the rest of the place says "come hang out in your skinny jeans and pretend you're cool". The party next to us was complaining to each other about the same things I just said. The rest of the tables were empty. :("

  • "Wanted to introduce a friend to a friend so we met after work. Brought our own wine but Salt Cure had a nice wine list. Started with their nibbles. The toast has a wee bit of relish on it, then a generous dollop of egg salad topped by a sardine that lost it's fishiness but retained the freshness of the sea. Hope that sounds as good as it tasted. We also shared the cured meat platter. Don't laugh but head cheese never tasted so good and it was the best pepperoni we ever had. By then I was more than happy to split the steak which was perfectly done. YUMMMM. Live music kept the energy up but at some point I would have liked a moment of calm...I think we go loud trying to talk over the jazz...but they were good."

  • "Tiny spot that does the locavore thing quite charmingly. Burger is expensive @ 17 but quite good--it has a nice texture and the bun , house-made, is soft. Cured meats respectable, pickles a little flat but good. My server was great and attentive and had perfect timing. My other confreres had a the winter BLT-ciabatta looked a little heavy as a choice, but the 2x2x2 is a fine as standard go to. Breakfast sausage had perfect seasoning. And I don't like sausage that much! I'd come back, especially if I was in the area. The big plus is that they will take reservations-nice for a small place like this."

  • "I read about this place and decided to try it for breakfast before heading to the airport. Glad I did. I ordered the 2+2+2. All their food is sourced in California and made on-site. It was all great. My favorite was the sausage. Seasoned perfectly, not too salty. Great flavor. The sunny side up eggs were perfectly cooked. The griddle cakes were soft, moist and flavorful and the compound butter was just the perfect amount of sweetness. The bacon was good but not my favorite thing on the plate. Just didn't have quite enough flavor. The biscuit was ok; maybe not enough flake and too much cake? Everybody was very nice and service was outstanding. I vote yes!"

  • "Meat-centric and proud of it . . . Salt's Cure is a welcome addition to the LA dining scene where too much is patterned after the Cal-Ital, next generation of Chez Panisse and the like. Here we have a restaurant that features high quality meats done honestly and with emphasis on the flavors and textures of pork, beef, lamb and fish. Highly recommended. The only negative was the lack of bread or toast points that come with the cheese and charcuterie. Odd choice to provide "cracker strips" and we had to ask about bread and then were told we had to buy it. This is a small matter that can be easily changed for the better."

  • "the food was amazing! everything was pretty much perfect. the only downside was getting seated right by the door when the rest of the place was empty."

  • "What a great find. The food here is excellent. Extremely fresh and innovative without being strange. My husband and I both agree that this is a very San Francisco style restaurant. Very small, very hipster farm to table (you drink out of mason jars). For me this is a great Thursday night place, great food with a come as you are vibe...I was waaaaaay over dressed because it was Saturday night and I had no idea of the overall vibe. Beware, there is no valet and parking is hard to find so give yourself some extra time."

  • "I had the best steak frites -simple, juicy, and very tasty. Together with some excellent wines by the glass and a wonderful date -well....a great evening."

  • "Start to finish, one of the best new spots in LA. Winter solstice beer, pretzel, 1/2 chicken, avocado/citrus salad. You won't be disappointed. Every single thing I've tasted here has been delicious."

  • "Love the food. Great tasting. The menu is written on a chalk board means that it changes according to what is good for that day. Wonderful idea. Will definitely be back. The lighting however can be much brighter. I had to bring out a flash light to read the wine list and the other menu at the table."

  • "Had Reservations for 7 thankfully by 8:00 it was impossible to talk across a very small table. Restaurant takes short cuts in too many areas from the menu with a limited wine selection to no valet parking in an area hard to find street parking! The noise level was not energetic! It was deafening! Too bad because the food was very good. We shared the charcuterie board and enjoyed the variety of cheeses, pates and sliced sausages. Had the pork chop and it was perfectly prepared. Mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy! Never had a chance to find out about the desserts as they were not offered and even if the waiter had tried, we wouldn't have been able to hear him. It was expensive as well. Too noisy!"

  • "I'm going to be dreaming of the duck dish they had for my New Year's Eve Dinner for months. The grilled oysters are becoming my favorite preparation for oysters - never had before Salt's Cure and delicious. Thanks to everyone at Salt's Cure for consistently making my taste buds happy! You are my favorite restaurant in LA hands down."

  • "This was my second time. Food and service both times were amazing. Unfortunately at the end of our meal our waiter seemed to have taken a break but no one filled his place. After getting our plates cleared we were never offered desert when we had intended to order some. We waited for 15 minutes before asking for the check. Overall a good experience just ended on a bad note."

  • "Small place, interesting menu, lovely service. The food was great, but for me, not worth the cost. With a glass of wine each and an appetizer, entree and desert for 2 we walked away with $150 bill. And it just didn't seem like that level of restaraunt to me. Happy to pay that when it's worth it and this didn't feel like it was. This is definitely a place for foodies."

  • "The burger doesn't hide behind blue cheese and a "special sauce" like many other "great" burgers do. . It's a perfect balance of quality ingredients that are allowed to speak for themselves. Order the pork chop, and you get two things on the plate: a pork chop and homemade apple sauce. I dare you not to finish it."
