Salt Kitchen & Tasting BarI took my boyfriend to SaltI took my boyfriend to Salt for his birthday- all the way from North Shore!:)
Food was amazing! Small plates I thought were reasonably priced & portion was good size- large plates were a little small for the price but it tasted so delicious we could look past that- we were just sad there wasn't more skirt steal cuz it was Ono!!!
Gnocchi was super yum- rabbit, oysters and pierogi all so good!
Dessert- must get churros with horchata custard!
Service was on point- only complaint was our table was a little awkwardly placed and felt like we were in the way anytime someone walked by, but that didn't ruin our overall experience. Definitely check this place out!6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMhot spotThis restaurant/bar is in a great location and opens at 5 so it's great for a drink and snack before a movie or other event in Kaimuki. They have made a very small space into an attractive multilayered venue. Food was also very good. Fingerling potatoes were exceptionally fresh and perfectly cooked6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat customer service!!!Great customer service!!! Our waiter was friendly and took his time explaining any questions that we had. The food was also great! We will be back!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat lil spotThe food and ambience were spot on, and so was the service. This wasn't a busy night so luckily our food came out on time. Not too fast or slow. Would recommend for both couples and groups, but maybe not kids. Great overall .5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved Salt!Little plates, big plates, salads, burgers, we loved it all at this small, hip restaurant. We tried to eat our way through the menu and did pretty well. Try it: the fried oysters, the rabbit rillette, the octopus, the oxtail empanada. You won't go wrong. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. If you are lucky enough to be in Honolulu and are willing to venture away from the guidebook restaurants, then try this place. We certainly weren't disappointed one bit.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat new experienceAmazing all made food, deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. We loved the servers' ecxellent and descriptive explanations of each component of the items.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst Visit To Salt-04/20/2013Overall we had a very interesting and good first visit to Salt Kitchen and Tasting Bar. The portions were very tiny and a little expensive. This was the kind of place where you were eating with your eyes more than your mouth. Great attention to detail was given by the staff in constructing each item and its presentation in intricate detail. The loft or mezzanine dining room was unique but totally non-compliant with ADA Standards for a modern restaurant. Also the wait staff tripped and fell bringing up food up the steep stairs which disrupted the dining room once. An Elevator or ADA Lift is a reasonable accommodation for handicapped customers and the dining support staff. All of the wait help were very well trained and great.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSimply put: relocate SaltSimply put: relocate Salt in Manhattan or Williamsburg, Brooklyn and it would easily receive three New York Times stars.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMStarted with the CharcuterieStarted with the Charcuterie tray then the Potatoe fries with the gnocci plate. Ended with the chocolate fudge cake - all simple and excellent. Good experience.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA Local TasteSalt is one of the places that is both great for meeting friends (at the bar downstairs) and for a nice dinner with someone (upstairs). Great food and drink pairing, and knowledgeable wait staff to guide you to good choices. I love the emphasis on local products!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a great time with my familyHad a great time with my family for my brother's birthday. Great food and service. I highly recommend!!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMMany restaurateurs here onMany restaurateurs here on Oahu should take notice to Salts customer service while providing unique, delicious food. Having never been to Salt, I expected the usual fare Honolulu has to offer. However, upon our arrival to Salt we were greeted with a smile. The staff was not about expediting the service. They were about helpful service with a positive rapport. Clever cocktail creations from the menu led way to delectable food choices. Salt offers a WOW factor I simply cannot explain with-in such a short review. We will return.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful grilled foods...Wonderful grilled foods... and great wine selections from The Rare Wine Company, CA.1/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA little New York in KaimukiThis place feels just like Manhattan to me-slick, vibrant, energetic. Ever changing cocktails and yummy food.10/13/2012 12:00:00 AM
