Very nice, however different from the first time we went. It appeared to have changed to a 'more casual' dining ambience, than an upscale busy bar and restaurant. Nevertheless, very nice and we will return. Great restaurant in a great town!!

This is our go-to place for visitors--on the water with a nice variety on the menu--both comfort food and more sophisticated fare available. Excellent service from wait staff. Reservations a must--go early for dinner. They're pcacked by 6:30on the weekends.

Love the food but the din is often unbearable. The restaurant is extremely noisy so that although the view is scenic, one does not want to stay long and having dinner conversation is difficult at best. Not ideal for a romantic dinner because you will end up yelling at one another.

We were celebrating multiple birthdays with friends as has become a tradition and after eating at the Salt Creek Grille in California, this was a great choice. The building is rustic/beautiful, and the large outdoor fire pit adds to the charm. The service and food were very good, with a great selection of ample fresh specials. We all were torn by the multiple great choices. The addition of local craft beer from Kane Brewing (Drift Line was on draft), was a great addition to the evening. We are planning to return again for the great food and fun vibrant restaurant. The view onto the Navesink River makes for a great location, and just adds to this wonderful restaurant. Prices tended to be high, but not for the location and quality of the food

We had a bit of a love affair with Salt Creek Grille for high quality casual dining that, sadly, has come to an end. Not only was the food lackluster, but the dining room was dirty, with food remnants on the carpet and table when we were seated. The table was cleaned for us, the floor was not. The view is beautiful, but we were seated in a corner and forgotten by our server. We far overpaid for the experience, which was about on par with a TGIFridays. This experience--combined with my wife's roughly contemporaneous bad luck at the Princeton outpost of this restaurant--ensures that we can no longer recommend SCG.

This was my second visit to Salt Creek. The first visit was very impressive--had a very good grilled mesuqite salad with a delicious filet mignon. This time, I was very disappointed--I had the prime rib special. The meat was not fresh and a little chewy--like it was old and reheated. The grilled mesquite salad was cold. Quite a change! While I would go back again, I would not have the prime rib.

I treated my fiancee to a birthday dinner and the night was wonderful from start the finish. When we first arrived, the valet guys were courteous (and nothing was moved in my car when it was returned), and the hostess was friendly. We were early so we took a seat at the bar and bartender was very helpful in changing one of their martinis to fit my taste (not so sweet!). We were seated promptly and the waitress was friendly and great with wine recommendations. We both ordered the filet and even though it was a little redder then I usually like, it was delicious anyway, in fact the best I've had in NJ! Normally a steak like that comes alone, but this came with delicious mashed potatoes and green beans!

Located along the Navesink River, "Salt Creek Grille" offers up outstanding food with a spectacular view. Half-price wines on Wednesday brought a noisier environment, but the service was good nonetheless. A firepit burns outside the restaurant to keep would-be patrons warm. On this occasion, I had the Porterhouse Stroganoff and my wife had Chicken Diane, both of which were outstanding. The lobster bisque and potato leek soups that preceded the entrees were fine as well. "Salt Creek Grille" is reasonably priced, & has become one of our personal favorites.

this is a lovely restaurant for fun and families. The food is adequate and plentiful but the quality is not as good as i think it should be considering the price. We had to be insistent with the hostess that she give us a different table. The first one she tried to give us was a booth where all diners would be facing out. That would mean that we could not have a conversation among the diners. I was disappointed with this considering that I had a made a reservation in advance and was not a walk in.
