The table was ready when we walked in, the Make-Me-Mimosa was a great idea and JUST enough champagne for two people to have a nice time of it. The food was fantastic and would have been taken home, but we were in town only for the graduation. I had the flatiron steak-- OMG! We ordered from a prefix menu-- and as a pickier eater, I can say that I was satisfied. YUM! The tomato soup special was exceptional, as were the spicy chicken tacos. Decor is open, but noise level was not too bad on a busy day. The prices hint at more fine dining but the atmosphere is very casual.

I am not a big eater, but I was wishing for more accompaniments to the salmon I ordered. My 20 year old son had the delicious tomato soup appetizer and the ahi entree, and he announced that he was on his way to Taco Bell (yecch) after our dinner because he was still hungry.

I started going there for the fantastic cocktails and the incredibly competent and knowledgeable (and good-looking) bartending staff, but the food is just as good as the drinks. The food is always well prepared and tasty and the wine selection is a good match to the menu. Service, from your first step in the door to the time you leave, is excellent. On this occasion, we had an early reservation (5:30) and enjoyed a leisurely early dinner. Salt never gives you the impression that they are trying to turn the tables quickly, so this is a good restaurant to go to when you want to socialize and enjoy a conversation. We've taken friends and family to Salt and have recommended it to others as a place to go to have a good, friendly and relaxed meal.
