"Salt & Pepper was outstanding, to say the least. I went with a party of 6 and we were seated upstairs. There were a couple of other groups upstairs but the room did not feel too crowded or too noisy. Our food was literally one of the best meals I've ever had. Each person from our table was raving about their dish too, and passing around bites for each other to try. Not only do I recommend this place but I can't wait to return here. If there was any downfall, I would have to say that the drinks were too expensive ($12 for all specialty cocktails), but like I said, it's the food that makes this place like no other!"

"The food was wonderful. No complaints with the food but one of the people in our party of 8 did not receive her dinner until we were all finished our meals. Her order was overlooked. We also noticed that as the night went on, the service got slower. Overall, it was a good night."

"Best meal in quite a while. Quaint little restaurant. Service was great. Owner greeted us and came over a few times assuring our meal and service were good. We ate downstairs which was smaller than upstairs and was very relaxed and quiet. Upstairs seemed busier. Only 6 or so entrees which we liked because chef can do a better job than with 20 - 25 entrees. Our guests who frequent many fine restaurants thought the meal was the finest they had in a long time. A REAL GEM"

"We had a party of four. Loved the food and the wine, beer, etc and our waitress was excellent. Unfortunately there was a power failure but the Salt & Pepper staff handled it with extreme professionalism. Apologies were given but we were enjoying the relaxing atmosphere and the desserts that were given to us due to the current condition. We will become loyal customers going forward. Thanks again to the staff and owner at Salt & Pepper."

"We had a great time even though the power went out as we were having drinks. They handled the situation with finesse and aplomb. Using a gas stove they made a fabulous soup and served some cold items that were also great.

"the subtitle of this place is "An American Bistro". This is literally true. A small, intimate, softly lit room, like a dining room in a wonderful old house, the light reminiscent of Vermeer. A squash soup we had was exquisite; complex, not overwhelming, rich, and just interesting. A simple dish of roast chicken and risotto was superb; delicate and subtle flavor, yet quite distinctive. The chef knows his sauces. THe owner, Joe Massara, is warm, gracious, conversational and sensitive to the diners' privacy.....a perfect combination of hospitality and serving competence. Reminded me of Paris."
