Salotto Zarletti: A New Place To Gather, is a dining experience designed by restauranteur, Brian Zarletti. The restaurant reflects Brian’s lifelong passion for Italian wine, food, and culture bringing a genuinità to Salotto Zarletti that can be felt throughout. We hope you enjoy the simple, thoughtful cuisine prepared by Executive Chef, Andrew Miller, who pays homage to southern Italian traditions and the bounty of delicious products found right here in the Midwest. Whether it’s Salotto’s Neopolitan pizza, hand-crafted in the wood-burning oven imported from Italy, or one of our many housemade pastas, each dish is prepared and presented with both appetite and aesthetic in mind. We are thrilled to welcome you to the world of Italian food, wine, and fun! Buon appetito!Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "I brought my wife to your restaurant to celebration her 60th birthday. At the same time 25 guests were gathering at our home to surprise her when we arrived home. Although I didn't inform the staff of this, I needed the meal to be on schedule. We arrived precisely at our reservation time and were seated immediately. The waiter was friendly and accommodating and served drinks and a salad in a timely way. Both entrees arrived also arrived in a timely way. The salad and entrees (salmon and scallops) were excellent. We arrived at our home five minutes later than the appointed time! The only negative was that we were seated at a table right next to a servers' station. Were I led to this table again, I would ask to be seated elsewhere."

  • "This was the first time any of us had been to Salotto Zarletti, and sadly we will not be returning. The food was okay, the wine was okay, the ambiance was good, the service was acceptable. There are many wonderful restaurants in the Milwaukee area but unfortunately this isn't one of them. Perhaps the chef could kick it up a notch or two? Our appetizers were the best dishes we tasted--the house-made burrata and eggplant starters were good. We tried two pizzas & were not impressed with either one, both arriving with mushy crusts despite the claimed 900 degree oven. The seafood stew was too salty & the seafood seriously overcooked. "Mediocre" is the kindest description for the server-recommended red wine."

  • "We went there for our anniversary and it was just O.K. I ordered the veal and it was without much flavor. The pizza was good. I had to ask for an ice bucket when the bottle of white wine was just put on the table. I had to ask for bread when I saw that other tables had it. No one said anything about it being our anniversary even though I noted it when I made the reservation. Therefore it was disappointing for a special occasion."

  • "Impressed with first visit. Cheese app was delicious with wonderful bread. Salotto salad was great. Pizza and pasta was solid. Service was so so."

  • "With all hard surfaces, the sound level in the dining area of the restaurant is oppressive. In addition there is a large window facing the parking lot and due to lack of tinting/ shades, the glare is very annoying. Also, while some very good choices in terms of decor (birdcage lights, rustic flooring, couches in bar area) the art choices are questionable at best. This is too bad because the food and service are quite good. Another strange choice is there are no umbrellas on the outside patio seating area. When I was there it was a beautiful sunny day and not one table was occupied. The sausage stuffed ascolan olives, veal meatballs and strozzapreti were standouts."

  • "We ate at the restaurant, which is very attractive, for the first time last weekend. Our biggest problem was deciphering the menu, as there were many terms with which we were not familiar. Our server did, however, answer all of our questions. My pasta was not great - mushy - but this was probably because I ordered it with gluten-free pasta. The same dish, however, with "regular" pasta, also did not get rave reviews. Salads were good, but the servers couldn't seem to figure out who had ordered what salad or what entree. Pizzas would seem to be the restaurant's strong point, and the one person in our group who had pizza did say that it was very good. Again, however, he had trouble picking one, because of the terminology in the menu."

  • "Having 3 small kids we don't often go out for dinner as a couple. But we've come here 2x in the last 5 weeks, including for our anniversary over the weekend. Great food. Helpful, friendly waitstaff. Atmosphere allows table conversation. Great wines and desserts. We're very pleased."

  • "Happy to have a new restaurant in our area. Modern decor is attractive but noise level is very loud. Server was very pleasant. Food came very quickly - not enough time to enjoy appetizer and salad. Had to ask for pepper on several occasions since it is not on the table. (Service staff still learning.) Glad we tried this new place. (For the money, we will probably not visit again soon. I'm not compelled to go back when I have other options in the area.) Would have enjoyed sitting outside, but they have no table umbrellas that I saw. I had hoped to eat at 6:30 pm but Open Table said the availability was 5:45 pm. The restaurant was half full at 6, half full at 6:30. I'm not sure why I couldn't book a later reservation?"

  • "This was our second visit. Arrived a bit early so we could sit in the comfy bar area and enjoy a cocktail before dinner. Bartenders were helpful and suggested some refreshing summer drinks which were quite tasty! We were then seated promptly at our reservation time. Service was prompt and our waiter was able to answer all our questions regarding specials and menu items. The appetizer we ordered had more cheese than toasted bread to accompany it. We asked for additional and promptly received. Pizzas were excellent and the wine we enjoyed was suggested by our waiter. The only negative - and it was very minor - was not one person in our party was delivered the pizza ordered. We played a little switch up and all was fine.Definitely recommend!"

  • "The food was very good. I would have liked more bread with the mozzarella appetizer. Since I am getting older, having all of those hard surfaces makes it hard for me to hear. It seemed very noisy. Both of us really enjoyed our main courses and we will go back to eat outside."

  • "I have had lunch at Salotto 4 times now. I wish they would use mixed organic greens instead. They could add more soups but over all the food is good and fun."

  • "Was very excited to try Salotto Zarletti. I live in the area and would love to have a new 'regular' spot. Decent wine selection, which was great. Ordered pizza - didn't care for the blackened bottom. It took away from the ingredients on top. Our server was a nice guy, but in serious need of training. When he took my friend's salad plate, he removed her fork and knife and put them on the table top!?! EW! How about either getting fresh ones, or putting it on the bread plate?? He did a terrible job clearing used glasses, beer bottles, empty plates...by the time we were having coffee at the end of the meal there was a mess left all over our table - not very relaxing or elegant feeling at all."

  • "I had high expectations for Salotto. I knew they imported their brick oven from Naples, Italy, just like my favorite Chicago restaurant with a similar-looking menu (Spacca Napoli). These are authentic Neopolitan-style pizzas. The crust is just charred enough, just chewy enough and the toppings are fresh and delicious! We shared the Burratta as an appetizer - it was perfect - and split three pizzas amongst four of us: the Diavola, the Del Re and the Genovese. All were superb! We also ordered a couple of desserts - a cheesecake and a lemon custard...neither of these were especially remarkable. Fine, good; but not overwhelming. I am delighted to have found a restaurant so close to home, doing pizza the traditional way. We'll be back!"

  • "Food was delicious, waiter a little difficult to understand, only 6 people in restaurant for Sat lunch so very slow and hard to judge ambience. They need to advertise, better signage out on the highways surrounding the location and person that seats you needs to bring you the correct menus (lunch and/or dinner) and be friendly. Sort of depressing that such a pretty place with good food has no customers yet Cafe 1505 was packed."

  • "Solutto is a vibrant energetic restaurant with a diverse menu. The greeting upon arrival was warm and friendly with attentive, if not a bit over the top attention. Rather distracting was the constant parade of wait and bus staff which unfortunately disturbed our dining. Pizza offerings were unique and varied, risotto was swimming in olive oil but tasty and pastas were flavorful. Would try again..."

  • "We were really pleased on our Friday date night. Our server, Brandon, was very knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine, and he was extremely friendly without being "in your face". He checked in with us the perfect number of times. (The only weird thing was a manager (or someone) who was wandering around peering at customers and tables without saying anything. I don't know if she was doing evaluations of the waitstaff or what, but it was very obvious and a bit awkward.) We had appetizer, entrees, a side, dessert and wine. Though the portions could be a little larger, everything tasted excellent. We loved the atmosphere and the decor. Perfect for date night, but also for GNO or even a family gathering. We will DEFINITELY be back!!!!"

  • "1. A couple had a DOG at their table. That alone started the evening (our anniversary) on a down note. Why you would ever allow pets is beyond us. 2. Noise level was very loud. Hard to have a conversation between the two of us without having to repeat what was said. 3. Food was just OK. Much prefer Joey Gerards. 4. Waiter was very good explaining the different entrees. However, no one ever came back to refill the water glasses. This is one of the points I always check when reviewing my experience at a restaurant. I would find it difficult to recommend Salotto Zarletti to anyone."

  • "It's nice to have another restaurant come to Mequon. It's a brand new, lovely restaurant in a very accessible area. Parking is easy. Service was fast and friendly. Just wish they had more vegetarian, non spicy menu choices. I think they need to tweek the menu a bit."

  • "Had to wait on ordering food and the dessert took over twenty minutes to get to our table. The food was great but I ordered wine and got less than half a glass. The service was slow but I believe we will try again in a few months."

  • "The food was good and the service ok, but there was constant questioning about taking away plates on the table. We had appetizers and they were not gone yet and we were asked 6-7 times if they could remove the plate. It was like we were being rushed. Totally get the "turning the tables" but by the time we left it was almost 9pm and there were plently of tables. Don't rush me and don't keep asking to take uneaten food away multiple times."

  • "Food was very good. This is a new restaurant so I'll cut them some slack on the service but it needs to improve. One minor complaint was a very watered down drink."

  • "It took a while before a server came over to tell us he would be right with us. The place is extremely loud so I wouldn't necessarily recommend if you are looking for a quiet dining spot. We ordered a couple of appetizers, pizza and a pasta dish just so we would have several dishes to try. Food arrived in a timely fashion, everything was delicious. Also feel that everything is reasonably priced. Dinner for my husband and I was $70 without tip. We had the two appetizers, pizza, pasta dish and four glasses of wine. Would definitely go back."

  • "Salotto Zarletti has brought good cuisine and good service to our neighborhood. We have had DINNER there which WAS OUTSTANDING. This trip was for lunch. The service was great, but the food was a little below expectation after our dinner experience--the lukewarm pizza and burger came out first, and then it took a while for my salad to arrive after that, limp and doused in dressing. I would try it again, as they've only got lunch started, but to be safe i would stick to dinnertime."

  • "Love the look of the Restaurant. Filled with people making it a fun place to be. My Pizza crust tasted burnt (yet it didn't look it) which made the toppings not able to be tasted for the most part. My 2 other friends really enjoyed their meals. Server was great. Noise level was extremely high which took away a bit from the experience. Restaurant is in a great location and we will be back."

  • "Great atmosphere. Good service. Mediocre food. Lobster pasta too spicy. Pizza soggy. Risotto a bit like gruel with 4 tiny shrimp. Fig appetizer very bad. Figs not ripe and it had a fire smoke taste rather than the sweetness of figs and honey. Too bad so sad on my birthday dinner!"

  • "We arrived 1/2 hour late, and were told we had an hour before they wanted our table. As they erred initially on a salad, and service was slow at first, they did not appear to hurry us unduly in the end. Asparagus salad ( sans bacon) and Caesar were good- though asparagus should have had less coating ( dressing served on the side, as requested). Cabernet and Grigio wines were good, if a bit pricey for the venue. Eggplant entree was crisp and well flavored, vegetariana pizza surprised with fresh Buffalo Mozzarella and basil. It is Sicilian style, so lots of red sauce."

  • "I enjoyed my meal but there were 2 things that were very distracting. A woman who I would guess is a manager kept walking around the restaurant and coming past our table with nothing to do. My friend that I was with also made notice of her. And lastly, the noise level was very loud which made it hard to hear the waitress and have a private conversation. But I did enjoy my food...the pizza was excellent."

  • "It seems like they want to be a little of everything...sports bar, bistro, better dining. Noise was excessive and the women (3) were freezing from the AC. extremely disappointed in not receiving the seating I was shown when I made a special visit to be sure our party of 6 were comfortable. One of us is recovering from serious surgery and is fragile. Didn't give me what we had agreed on earlier and crammed all 6 of us in a booth. No table room, very unpleasant."

  • "We brought another couple here that we dinner with occasionally. Out waiter was funny and fantastic! I loved his genuine advice. He had great info and good recommendations. I love the couches. Didn't think the wine list was substantial enough for an Italian restaurant... Bar was not adequately stocked for an upscale mequon restaurant... Ex. Belvedere vodka. A mixologist might be nice if you want to boost the bar business. Food was great!! Prices pretty darn good!"

  • "food from start to finish. From the freshly made bread to the homemade teramisu you cannot go wrong. The prosciutto fritters are a must for appetizer. For a main course I highly recommend the steak dish or the salmon, which my date ordered and thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back to try the pizzas as other tables had ordered and they looked delicious. "

  • "we had heard that the pizza was very crispy, which we like. we did not find that to be the case. the bottom crust was not crisp at all and that was a disappointment. the rest of the meal was ok and we enjoyed the place."

  • "Enjoyed the food, tasty and interesting . Although we had to send the rissoto back because it was way too salty. The server didn't really react as expected. I think she said that is the way it is prepared. They did remove the item from our check. Service in general was inconsistent but it is early in the game , they may still be working the kinks out. By the end of the evening it was too noisy but overall the evening was a success. "

  • "We dined at Salotto Zarletti with another couple. We were seated at near the back of the restaurant. Our reservation was for 6:30 and it happened that the table was directly in front of a window that had yet to have a blind or curtain installed. I spent the entire meal staring into glaring sunlight with the explanation that blinds were being installed in the next few days. Seems like a basic detail to overlook. Of the 4 meals, 2 in our party were impressed and 2 were not. I had the Tomato Rigatoni and found the sauce bland, watery, and not enough to cover the noodles. The decor of the restaurant is very nice, and our waiter was attentive, polite, and apologetic about the discomfort caused by the sunlight. "
