A word from Salotto Zarletti
Salotto Zarletti: A New Place To Gather, is a dining experience designed by restauranteur, Brian Zarletti. The restaurant reflects Brian’s lifelong passion for Italian wine, food, and culture bringing a genuinità to Salotto Zarletti that can be felt throughout.

We hope you enjoy the simple, thoughtful cuisine prepared by Executive Chef, Andrew Miller, who pays homage to southern Italian traditions and the bounty of delicious products found right here in the Midwest. Whether it’s Salotto’s Neopolitan pizza, hand-crafted in the wood-burning oven imported from Italy, or one of our many housemade pastas, each dish is prepared and presented with both appetite and aesthetic in mind.

We are thrilled to welcome you to the world of Italian food, wine, and fun! Buon appetito!

In spite of the 800° oven, the pizza was soggy and the wineglass contained only 4 1/2 ounces for $10. As if the $10 price tag isn't enough they have the nerve to charge the tax at the bar. We will not be back.

We loved our meal at Salotto's. This is our third visit and we have never been disappointed by our meal. Service is attentive and knowledgeable. However we feel that a restaurant that charges $27 for its fish should provide patrons with fresh brewed ice tea. We can get fresh brewed ice tea at McDonald's so why not at an upscale restaurant. Would they serve wine from a box? Zima? Sanka? It's so easy to brew tea. Take a lesson from CPK, Cheesecake Factory, Applebee's, and Chancery just to name a few of the chain restaurants with good food, but not gourmet food who offer fresh ice tea. We hope on our next visit we won't have to taste that fake, powdery flavor of tea made from syrup and water.

The food here was fair. Monk fish special dinner for $29 wasn't worth the price. There were a mix of flavors, but the fish was deep fried and greasy. Pizza tasted very good, but the crust was charred so black that we couldn't eat it. Our server had told us that the heat of the oven might burn the crust, so we weren't surprised. But we have eaten pizza from wood burning ovens before, never this burned. Our server was very attentive and gave us plenty of time for conversation. Overall, though, we wouldn't go back because the food just isn't up to the standards of Zarletti's main restaurant downtown (which is one of our favorites).

As we walked in, there was a sign saying that the restaurant was aware of the high noise level, and had hired an acoustic engineering firm to remediate the problem. It is a good thing I saw the sign, as the noise was so loud (even as the crowd level diminished to a mere 25% full) that it was hard to carry on a normal conversation. Too bad, as it detracted from what was otherwise a very nice experience. They say the problem should be resolved by the end of the month (November 2014) or so. I'm willing to give it another go. Pricy, but good food and our service was equal to the food's value. Not the best in the whole MKE area, but a rival to the other high end restaurants near the Milwaukee-Ozaukee county border.

My second visit, first for dinner. Ali our server was OUTSTANDING, one of best I have had in quite a while. Patient, knowledgeable and attentive with warm friendly attitude. She even brought a small bowl of beans for our 18mo old daughter immediately after we inquired about them. Burrata some of the best in town. Osso Buco was excellent and beans were al dente as should be. Addition of tall tables in bar area big improvement over couches. Kitchen needs to work on timing to complete delivery of all entrees in sync and timely manner. Overall great experience & see why they made top 30 in first year of business...

We reserved a table and checked and had a few minutes to wait. When our friends arrived, they were told that we had not checked in yet and were still waiting at the door for us. After I corrected that, we were seated not long after. Appetizer was good, and the pizzas were good, but here were the problems: my friend ordered the same drink twice and the second drink was incomplete when it was delivered- missing the grenadine as it was in the first drink. Our pizzas came about 5 minutes apart- so we were not all served as one. Then when we had coffee at the end, we waited about 15 minutes for coffee. I'm hoping it was just an off night, we would go again.

We went there for my birthday with a group of 5 people, including two kids. They had our table ready and didn't mind that we shopped a bit at the boutique across the way. They put us in a quiet booth, as I requested. The waitress was attentive and personable. Everything we ordered was fabulous. The pizza oven may take some getting used to for some - they can't control the heat as well as they can in a gas oven, since it's wood fired. This is a great spot that has never disappointed me!

Food was good for people familiar with continental dishes, especially Italian configurations and menu items written in Italian. On our visit, Friday was noisy. Our guests felt intimidated by the menu. When one of our guests complained about his selection, manager was quick to offer a substitution that pleased him. Staff was accomadating and anxious to please. Waitess made an attempt to explain menu in English, but our guests were still confused. I can't fault restaurant for trying, but those unfamiliar with Tuscan and Piedmont dishes should view menu online and do their research to make the dining more enjoyable.

Had luck there recently with a business colleague. We each ordered different salads, and share an appetizer of olives. The appetizer was good with a generous amount of different olives, green and black, some of which are not so common. Very enjoyable. I had the Pear salad which will shortly be discontinued. It was tasty but extremely frugal on two of the main ingredients, goat cheese, and a pancetta-type meat. The salad would be fine as a side to a meal or as an appetizer but was not sufficient as a main salad. The ingredients were fresh.

I had a pasta with sausage and bone marrow. .it was terrible. .I threw it out when I got home. .This was one of the worst dining experiences we ever had

This is my second time at this fairly new establishment. Tried the eggplant caponata appetizer which was very different from the one I make. It did have all the right flavors. Although it didn't list onion as an ingredient it was in there. Thankfully it was not to overpowering. My friend and I split the vegetarian pizza. This pizza had mushrooms (not canned), roasted red pepper, zucchini, basil and fresh mozzarella. We both raved about the heavenly pizza crust. It comes a bit charred on top because of the wood fired grill, but what a taste. The place has high ceilings which makes it very noisy and hard to have a conversation during peak times. Bartender made a very nice vodka and tonic as well.

We were unsure we wanted to try this restaurant after looking at the menu online, but once we got in and were able to ask questions and have the menu explained to us (it is a traditional southern Italian menu, which we aren't familiar with), we were able to find many, many things we wanted to try. When the food arrived it was incredible! We ate things we were sure we didn't like but fell in love with them! While the prices are on the high end, everything was so exceptional it was worth it. We will definitely return to try more. The decor was tasteful, not too dramatic or cheesy, but with the high ceilings and the place being so wide open it could get a little noisy. We went at a slower time though so noise wasn't an issue at all.

not sufficient info on menu to describe the dishes (whether it was a meat sauce, was a side dish like kale served hot/cold, etc). Very noisy. My wife has one hearing aide and we were with another couple. All of us had difficulty carrying on a conversation. Too many "hard surfaces" so sounds bounced around too much. Would not return because of the noise level.

This was our fourth time at this restaurant. The first on a Friday night. The food and service were very good. However, it was very busy and so loud, we could not hear the person next to us. Yelling while dining does not make for a pleasant experience. I hope the owner realizes this and takes some steps to correct this. I love a lively environment, but this was one step from painful.
