We sat outside - it was a beautiful night, the restaurant is next to the marina, and it made for great people watching as the crowds walked along the walkway to Seaport Village. Our food was delicious and the waiter was knowledgeable about both the food and wine. And at the end of dinner, fireworks went up at the SD Pops concert. A great night!"

Service is spotty with long forced waits for a group dinner for 9 people while restaurant was less than half full. Sit outside and enjoy the marina views and San Diego weather. Dinning room is noisy with its hard surfaces."

The only real complain was the presence of bones and scales in my crispy skin Hawaiian snapper and cartilage in my wild mushrooms. It showed a definite lack of attention to detail by the chef and became a choke hazard."

We didn't expect great food at a hotel restaurant, but this was an exception - food was excellent (we both had a fish/steak special combo that had creative presentation & seasoning). Prices were not that bad given the location. One tip: in the confirmation email it said you had to specifically request the patio, so I called them to ask for that. They graciously said yes. That was fortunate because the patio tables sit out right along the boardwalk by the Bay, a very nice experience. You can probably add that request when you reserve online."

  • "Had a celebratory brunch in the outdoor dining area. Angel was our waiter and did a fine job. Food was great, I had the crab cake eggs benedict and a Bloody Mary. The bloody mary seemed to be made from shrimp cocktail juice and wasn't something I'd re-order. It was another perfect day on San Diego's waterfront and all 5 of us had a very enjoyable brunch. "

  • "We come at 7 pm and were seated at an inner-yard table with a good view of the bayfront promenade. Found a great wine list. The salads were small (especially the beet salad) so not noticeable. The crab cake and fish-n-chips were really good. But expensive. Had to wait for 15 mins for a glass of wine and to remind 2 times. Overall - very good."

  • "While staying at the Grand Hyatt, I chose to eat at Sally's twice (so that says something in and of itself). I enjoyed the ambience and service, as well as the views of the harbor. I had the sushi, which was of high quality, while my friends sampled a wide array of menu items. Everyone enjoyed their selections from surf-and-turf to more elaborate sushi rolls and delicious salads, in addition to wonderful complimentary mini-bread loaves. The wine selection was especially pleasing, as was the service. Our waiter on the 2nd night was one of the best waiters I've ever had (and I travel and dine extensively). Insightful knowledge of the menu, clearly enjoyed his work, keenly interested in our having the best possible dining experience."

The view of the boats and harbor from the upper outside patio on a sunny afternoon with a glass of wine is to live for. I brought a friend there for lunch two days ago: she was reluctant because she had a dinner date there later that day. We shared the Seafood Cob Salad - beautiful salad with tender succulent shrimp and scallops (one of the four tests of a chef is his/her salad) and we shared two interesting sushi rolls. We paired this with an auxerrois and then a dry Vouvray from Oregon. After this was over, my friend said, "I know I"m having that salad tonight again!""

  • "We really enjoyed dining at Sally's Seafood on the Water I ordered the Surf and Turf the shrimp were succulent and the size of a lobster tail, the short ribs were seasoned to perfection and melted in my mouth. We were celebrating two birthdays and my parent’s 48th Wedding anniversary and our server Joseph recommended several dishes and provided exceptional customer service. We look forward to dining at Sally’s again soon."

  • "We had a delightful lunch at Sally's on a perfect spring day. The restaurant is right on the coast with a great water view. The food was outstanding. Three of us had the seafood cobb salad, which was perfect: grilled shrimp and scallops on butter lettuce with lots of avocado. The other member of our party had the mushroom risotto with salmon and thought it was wonderful. He had hesitated to order the salmon because so many restaurants overcook it, but this was just right. We all enjoyed the breads and butters and a lovely bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Truly a treat! We'll definitely return."

  • "I really wanted to enjoy this restaurant. It has a lovely setting, great menu (especially for gluten-free folks - all items identified) and is convenient for those staying at the Hyatt. Unfortunately - the service started at ok, and then quickly degraded to poor. Our server was just not at all what I would anticipate of a restaurant at this price point. I appreciated that the food was labeled GF. Unfortunately there was issues with the main courses and dessert. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you are doing a quick stop. I found the waiter to be condescending and inattentive. Im used to fine dining all over the country and beyond. I found this experience to be quite disappointing."
