Diner Reviews
  • "Crab cocktail, crab Louie salad was very good. Chicken dish really dry and uninspired. Crabwich sandwich was mostly bread with weird relish."

  • "Wonderful food and very consistent. Excellent every time!"

  • "we had mussels that were delicious and plentiful. The poor waiter had to wait for us to order because we met up with long lost friends but He did not show impatience. Great place Pierre Horn"

  • "We needed a Monday night birthday party venue for 20 people in Sausalito and Salito's fit the bill nicely. Peter the manager handled all our questions and needs for the party and the wait staff was fantastic! Top that off with a great menus and view to the bay and the entire combination just worked! Highly recommended."

  • "food was very good. our waiter rushed us to order our main course when we just wanted to enjoy our drinks and appetizers before ordering our main course. His only concern was to turn his table another few more times. Never had a high end restaurant rush us the manner he did especially with the prices Salito charges."

  • "First, they tried to seat me in a corner by kitchen (I reserved a water view). Then, when I used restroom, they cleared my table and were already seating someone else when I returned. My Loiue salad with crab came without crab. My waiter went missing and I could not check out. And, worst of all, I received none of sincere apologies."

  • "The food was really good The crab louis was lush and the crab enchiladas over the top. I wish I could have had the meats plates but for us it would have been too much. I would love to come back for drinks and the meat platter and the Kettle bread. Also I plan to come back for the Prime Rib dinner."

  • "Great seafood restaurant with waterside dining. The open, airy layout is nice. The food quality is fantastic."

  • "Salito's signature dish is dungeness crab prepared every conceivable way. My favorite is the crab burrito. But, they offer other great dishes like sand dabs and pork osso bucco. With ample outdoor dining with a great view of Saussalito's Richardson Bay, this is the place for lunch or an early summer dinner. Service can be slow, but the manager will get someone to your table pronto when you ask. And, don't miss the salted carmel cake; it's the best dessert in the area!!"

  • "it was a busy evening, but the manager seemed to be over-stressed..."

  • "We had a very nice meal. The grill pan dinners are great. The oddball waiter kind of ruined the experience. He was nice but just very robotic. The 4 of us shared 2 desserts which were both very mediocre and not cheap. If you eat here, go out for dessert somewhere else."

  • "Delicious food with a fantastic view!! Enjoyed our experience!!"

  • "My waiter sloshshed my bloody Mary so I had to clean it up with a napkin-there was not enough crabmeat in the crab sandwich to call it a crab sandwich. They offered great bread but no plates on which to put it until we had all taken the bread and broken it and put it on the table."

  • "Would have a hard time finding a better view. Sat on the water and had a shrimp and crab skillet. Great flavor. Nice service."

  • "Always a good time and delicious food with super service. The crab enchiladas are amazing! The view of the Boats in the bay is beautiful."

  • "I guess our waitress was just over-worked or had too many tables to take care of, because we rarely saw her. Had to wave her down a couple of times. When we said we could not want coffee or dessert, that would have been the time to bring us our check, right? Well, 20 minutes later we finally got it."

  • "Have been here several times and had good food and service, however on the last two visits, at least one dish was burnt or not prepared right. This time we took my husband for Father's Day and he ordered the crab omelet skillet. It had no crab in it. When he told our server, she just looked at it and said 'I'll go see if I can find some.' She came back 5 minutes later with a small bowl of crab meat. Not really the same. So, it was $20 for eggs with a bowl of crab on the side. Too bad."

  • "We live in Sausalito & have visited Salito's frequently. The food has always been ok, not great, but the location and service make it acceptable. Friends from out of town wanted a kid friendly place for Father's Day. We made reservations at open table, the only positive thing we experienced. When we arrived, they didn't have our requested table, but accommodated us. We sat for 20 minutes & had to go ask for someone to take our drink order. When our food arrived, Crabwhich that I always order, was terrible. Maybe they we running low on crab & put in a ton of filler, I'm not sure. The potatolitos were soggy & cold. They charged us incorrectly & had to fix the bill. I was really embarrassed since I chose the restaurant, I'll never go back."

  • "We were looking forward to a dinner with dear friends that lived-up to the hype. We were sorely disappointed. The Fettuccini was watery and bland-the portion small. The prime rib was not cooked to order, tough/gristly and unappealing. The fried potatoes were soggy and cold. The creamed spinach tasted like it came out of a box-watery, tasteless and chewy. The Caesar salad was small, watery and also tasteless. The waitstaff was pleasant enough but disengaged. It is too bad the food did not do the view justice. We will not be going back."

  • "The view was very nice, and it was comfortable to sit inside, shelter but almost feel like we were outside. Foodwise-if you're looking for a classsic prime rib and crab combo thia is the place. The spinach and potatoes were delicious also. The service was just ok, he was nice enough but didn't add anything to the experience. I think I have some out of town family who wuold really love this place."

  • "Salitos is a gem! They have an amazing location, on the water in sausalito....down near old town...or local town as we know it. The place was filled with happy well fed locals ...many who lingered and nibbled for hours. You must order the kettle bread...soft sour chewy bread served/cooked in a kettle. Loved it so much i am baking one now! The shellfish is the highlight. They serve huge sizzling platters on risers filled with your huge crabs, dozens of muscles or shrimps ! Their salads are great. Crab enchilada is yummy minus the lettuce wilted in it....not necessary. The drinks are ok..but small. And they are verrrrrry slow to deliver drinks. This was their only bug problem. The atmosphere is nicer than sams. Need fries"

  • "Brought a large party here this past weekend for a birthday celebration. It was our second time visiting from out of town. My guest absolutely loved their meals and the ambiance was incredible as usual. We could not have picked a better restaurant for this event. I definitely recommend the crab platters for large groups. They are amazing. "

  • "Salitos has a beautiful view. Everything else makes it feel Luke a tourist trap: the overly expensive food served in small portions. The $50 crabs served with half of the flesh missing (probably used in the equally expensive crab appetizers), the slow-mo service and this feeling that you're just here to be ripped off in exchange for a beautiful harbor view. If you're a foodie, I would recommend one of the many other authentic crab restaurants in town. If you're coming for the view, you won't be disappointed. But that will be all. "

  • "Eaten at Salito's many times over several years - never disappoints - so many unique and wonderful dishes and the kettle bread - yum. Grilled seafood, mussels, brunch - really the top notch in seafood - with great views and an easy walk to town along the waterfront."

  • "Great restaurant with excellent food and service. Right on the water in Sausalito. Only about 1/4 mile from town. Dinghy dock right outside!"

  • "I took my 24 year old son to Salito's and we both loved it. The outdoor deck has a fantastic view, but the wallls of the restaurant are all glass so you get a view of the bay from everywhere. The bloody Marys are outstanding, the bar scene is exciting and there are tvs for sports fans. The mussels are some of the best I've had and I will be going back soon to have more. The "wiches" are delicious served on housemade bread. I've had the fishwich and the crabwich and they are both a delight. Salads are nicely dressed and flavorful and a great way to start a meal. Everything is large enough to share so you can order a few things and dig in. I would recommend this restaurant to all my friends and I plan on going back soon."

  • "I came with my two teenagers to celebrate a belated Mother's Day and was ushered by the kind and courteous hostess to a table outside at the edge of the deck.PERFECT! We were greeted right away by our server who was quick and efficient but who also was mindful to pace his visits and the delivery of the courses. The kettle bread with Strauss butter - so delicious. Then came the oysters -- YUM. Crab cakes were nice. My daughter savored her crab alfredo pasta even into the next day since the portion was quite generous. My son chose the cioppino and powered through to the last bit of fish and seafood in the tureen, exclaiming all the while how he loved the sauce. My cucumber martini, crab chowder and house salad - tops!"

  • "Food and drink is ordered electronically. The food came before we had been able to take a s from our cocktail. Our servers fault. Don't fire it until people are ready to eat. Let them relax with a drink first. "

  • "DO NOT order the crab cocktail unless you like tiny amounts of crab atop coleslaw for $15. Service and view was good. "
