Tapas were a great choice for dining before a show - the sardines and avocado on toasts were great little bites to start, and the special pork tenderloin slices were delicious . Very innovative flavor combos. Ambiance was warm and service was excellent - efficient, friendly, and professional.

Salinas is absolutely beautiful in decor, cozy, romantic, elegant. The food is exceptional. The crispy octopus was one of the best things I've tasted. Steak for two was delicious, as was the perfectly prepared paella. The waiter suggested a wine that was rich and delicious - about $75, and was very professional and always there when needed. The only thing we did not like was that when we were seated at 7:15 we were told that we had to be out by 9:00. Both the hostess came over to let us know followed by the waiter. We were shocked to have a time limit in such a top-notch restaurant. It was a special occasion and shook us all up. One of us then went to the manager and explained, and he graciously apologized and we ended up staying until nearly 10 p.m. The service was then excellent, and everything was perfect. I know the goal is to turn tables, but for the cost of dinner, I don't think this is a sufficient time frame. 2.5 hours might be a better bet in the future.

Salinas is one of the most romantic restaurants that I have been to between the lighting and the amazing decor with the roses. It was my boyfriend's birthday and I wanted the perfect place to celebrate and Salinas proved to be just that. The cocktails are exquisite, the cuisine is delicious and the service is impeccable. They even remembered to add a candle to the birthday dessert even though I mentioned it only when I made reservations. Everything about my latest visit was perfect and I will definitely be back for more romantic dates.

We took a very memorable trip to Spain and loved the food, wine and people and were hoping to recreate that memorable feeling. Unfortunately, this restaurant did not meet our expectations. The dishes we chose were just ok.( Mine was turbo fish...not very flavorful.) Many reviews labeled this restaurant as highly romantic. We found it on sensory overload. The electronica music did not lend itself to being romantic and while the service was attentive, we did not feel any desire to linger and enjoy celebrating the birthday we came to celebrate.

We went for our anniversary and I included that on our reservation notes. I was somewhat disappointed when they sat us in a small table in a tight spot between others. I would have hoped for a more private table, but I guess I needed to tip the hostess or something?? But if that's the case, it would be the same if we didn't have our anniversary. Once seated, I will say that we had great service and the food was fantastic! Such a romantic place with flowers and candles lit all over. Great place to bring a date or for a special occasion with your significant other.

My second time dining at Salinas, so obviously I liked the place. On this occasion I made a special request in advance which was perfectly satisfied. Salinas moved me from a happy customer to a dedicated customer. The food is excellent and the presentation magnificent. I don't think there is anything on the menu that would disappoint. The service is attentive and friendly and the decor of hundreds of tiny lights is only outdone by the hundreds of fresh cut flowers. This restaurant defines romantic!

Food was terrific but there were problems with service and the kitchen - our first tapas was mistakenly served to the next table, next tapas came without cutlery so we had to borrow from an empty table, and main was delayed about an hour. I'd go again cuz the food was so good but I would go knowing that service could be a disaster. Wonderful eggplant and fidores.

We ate at Salinas when it first opened and the food was great. We went back again a few nights ago and there was nothing on the menu that stood out. We still ordered an array of different Tapas and other dishes and the only thing any one in a group of 4 liked were the patatas bravas. Not only was the food very mediocre, we were shocked at how high our bill was. Way too expensive for the quality of the food. The flower arrangements in the restaurant are beautiful.

Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, food was very good (try the octopus special, patatas bravas and paella) . The desserts ( chocolate pistachio cake) and sangria were extraordinary. The atmosphere by candle light and Ecuatorian roses makes it well suited for a romantic night!

A beautiful dining room, great food but lacking warmth and friendliness. We all understand cuisine as an art form and innovation is here at Salinas for sure but we all have food allergies, issues, idiosyncrasies and if the kitchen cannot accommodate more then they're at a loss...Not sure we'll back.

I love this restaurant. My new, absolute, favorite. Must be the most romantic restaurant in all of Manhattan. :) And the food is delicious - my go-to menu: braised lamb with rice cake, baked goat cheese, popcorn-crusted octopus. The desserts are somewhat disappointing, compared to the amazing quality of the appetizers/main courses, but perhaps I just haven't found my favorite yet!

Second visit and still wonderful. Inventive Spanish food in a floral bedecked, candle lit, romantic room. The tapas is exceptional, nothing usual about any of the dishes. I find the small plates more interesting than the mains, and the mains are delicious, too. Attentive, friendly service. Good wine selections. Soothing atmosphere. Way to go, Salinas!

Food is delicious and atmosphere was "cool" and "trendy." The flowers added to the ambiance but beware of taking them home. I had octopus for my appetizer that was tender and a good size. My wife had a cheese dish that she enjoyed as well. While fish seems to be their specialty, we dared to try the steak for 2 as our entree. It did not disappoint. The steak was tender, came to the table perfectly done and was accompanied with a delicious roasted vegetable and potato dish. The wine list is not extensive and focuses on Spanish wines, wines I was not familiar with. Our server was friendly and assisted us in choosing a wine that paired well with our meal. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for a date night. Isn't kid friendly though.

Salinas is a beautiful restaurant, a gem in the heart of Chelsea. Unfortunately, the service was a bit lackluster. Although I booked on Open Table, the hostesses were confused when we arrived due to the commotion caused by those who showed up as walk-ins, and we were made to wait 15 minutes. Once we got seated, our table had two different waiters taking our drink and food orders. Although I'm sure this is standard practice at some restaurants, it was difficult connecting to the waiter. Once we finally got a chance to order food from the waiter, he seemed unfamiliar with the menu. The octopus was the best thing we ordered. Other than these flaws, the restaurant was gorgeous and redolent of flowers that we just sat back and enjoyed the cava.

This place is beautiful, very pleasing on the eyes. The food, not so much. Being Latin, I like to find places I can go to get a taste of my culture. Salinas is an ultra watered down version of a Spanish style restaurant. I ordered the Arroz Pulpo (rice w/ octopus), expecting something amazing since it takes 30 minutes to prepare. It honestly looked like rice with one piece of octopus on the side. When I asked the waiter what was in the dish, he sure made it sound amazing. To me it tasted like burned rice with one piece of octopus on the side. As an aside, I do go out to eat quite often and rarely write reviews (except for when I feel compelled). This is obviously one of those times. I will probably not go back. It's nothing special.
