"With a reservation we still had to wait 30 minutes, food was mediocre, noise level was super high, and they charge you $12 for 1/3 of a wine glass. Definitely a place to avoid! Too bad because it is a pretty place."

"Lovely restaurant with a tapas style memu. We ordered 5 plates altogether, 2 of them were just ok but the other 3 were fantastic, get the suckling pork if you can, it was utterly amazing! would go again for sure."

"We were visiting NYC and found out about this gem from an upscale hotel chain magazine. Very creative food, interesting combinations of flavours and ingredients - and very satisfying. Our server was first day on the job and outstanding at that."

"The food was creative and tasty however they were so consumed with getting their table back at 8:30PM that the waiter constantly rushed us along. It became so annoying that it completely ruined the whole dining experience. To add insult to the situation, the maître d came by to tell us they needed to rush us along as they have a very large party they are accomodating. Granted one of us was a bit late, but they refused to seat the rest of the party and enable us to start ordering/reviewing the menu. If they had done that, the dinner would have been much more relaxed and enjoyable. None of us will ever return to this venue!"

"This is my second time at Salinas and while the food is great, time management is an issue for them. Both times we had a 6 o'clock reservation and both times they were not prepared. This time we waited in the bar area for about 15mins while boxes where being moved. Really! couldn't the boxes have been moved at 5.30 or before you opened?"

"We had a show at the nearby Joyce Theatre so were looking for someplace close but good. The food was uneven, some dishes really great and some would have been great if not for the over-cooking. The garlic/chick pea/olive oil spread is delicious, as is the fried brussel sprout/califlower appetizer. The cocktails are fantastic; I had one with vodka, mint and tea and my companion the fresh strawberry drink. We had a planked shrimp first course and the sea-bass-for-two specials, which would have been delicious but were overcooked."
