Have been here a number of times. The food is pretty reliable, but on the last visit a couple of people in my party felt the curries were underpowered even though they had asked for them to be hot-hot. May just require more communication. Very nice and accommodating staff.

When you walk in you offered either "floor" or "table." If your back allows it, take the floor. This part of the restaurant, where you are seated on pillows, has much more ambiance. Either way the food is great. If you've never had Afghan food before don't hesitate to ask for recommendations.

I love Afghan food, and Salang Pass did not disappoint. I love that they let you choose between low pillowed tables and traditional tables. My friend was pregnant and would have had a hard time with the low tables. Everyone there was welcoming and kind, and accommodated our request for extra salad instead of rice (ah, diabetes).

Food was good but service really lacked attention. Appetizer plates stayed on the table after we were served our entrees.

horrible customer service. would not take restaurant.com mobile coupon and insisted on having a printed copy. told me I could fax it to the restaurant and when I told them I had done it, they said their fax machine was broken. They directed me to fax it "next door" which I found out later was a grocery store/deli. Will not go back and would not recommend to others.

Our family enjoyed our trip to this tasty cuisine. Very authentic seating is offered and clearly this is where local Afghani's prefer to eat.

The food was exceptional, well presented with considerable care, and everyone in a diverse party enjoyed it very much. While there were some longer delays in obtaining service, the waitress was excellent and very accomodating. We had a great time sharing the appetizers. I think you just need to expect that the detail in these dishes requires additional time.

Salang Pass is a good way to enter this food world. My friends enjoyed the new experience with lots of variety and checking out the neighboring plates ordered. There is no alcohol but they will allow you to BYOB.

Delicious food. Attentive service. Hard to ask for more than that. Sitting in the raised platform area on cushions seems to be the way to go, although be ready to remove your shoes (no small task for my girlfriend with her heels). Highly recommend the lamb shank and afghan ravioli, which were both fantastic.
