Sakana Sushigreat sashimiThis neighborhood restaurant has the best sashimi in the Twin Cities. All the fish is so fresh, you have no fears in enjoying it. Also, their Japanese lunches and dinners are wonderful, and also very reasonable. I recommend this restaurant highly.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Specialty Rolls ...Three of us for dinner on Friday night. Tasty cocktails from a nice selection, yummy rolls well executed. YumYum, Godzilla and BMW rolls particularly tasty. Competitively priced, nice atmosphere, we'll be back!5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSunshine & Sushi!Had an early dinner on the outside patio on one of the first great weather days of Minnesota Spring! (Sad to say it was May 5!) RE: noise level: Because it was late afternoon the restaurant had very few people and it was a very calm, comfortable atmosphere. About 1/2 hour before we left a group with kids came in and it "livened up" the place a bit, but not overwhelmingly.
Server was very welcoming and friendly but not patronizing, very helpful in his information about both the bar menu and food menu. He was truly part of the wonderful experience! Calamari appetizer and White Tiger Roll was phenomenal! Great Mojito as well! [We went for multi-cultural on that one! :-) J/K]5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat EveningThis place is a nice place for a great evening. The sushi was great!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy to have sushi in Wayzata!Had a group of people from Cargill there for lunch and had a great experience. Thanks!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGrea food is always the keyWe have dinner at Sakana once a week, which as foodies who like to eat around, is a big deal. We've surprised ourselves with this weekly loyalty, and have decided while we like the service, atmosphere etc, we come back back because everything on the menu is good and good every time.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite sashimi!Once again the food and sake were outstanding. Baby squid salad and edamame were both prepared perectly, yum! The sashimi entree had five different types of fish, beautifully arranged -- all were exquisite and reflected a range of flavors and textures. Our server was very helpful and just the perfect amount of attentive. The range of sake choices, available by glass or carafe was awesome. A wonderful little spot in downtown Wayzata.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMNo better place to get sushiNo better place to get sushi w a Lake Minnetonka view. The menu is diverse and the choices are delicious.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMSakana - neighborhood gemI love this place. The food is excellent. The service is excellent. It is small but centrally located. They are always friendly and at the end if the night, the is reasonable.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as usual. GreatExcellent as usual. Great menu with special rolls.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMHigh quality food, range of sakes!Fabulous sashimi! Ordered the chef's choice sushi & sashimi platter and a couple of a la carte items- truly appetizing & gorgeous presentation, excellent flavors/textures for the fish, very high quality. Even the nori wrappers used had a wonderful roasted flavor & perfect texture. Squid salad had lots of squid in a delightful marinade, and fresh spring greens. Wide and diverse range of sake offerings - very impressive to have so many available by the glass or carafe. Our server Amanda was perfect: knowledgable, playful in spirit, patient, good at explaining things, and able to make great recommendations- all while the house was packed! A thoroughly enjoyable dinner, bravo. Beats other sushi restaurants in the surrounding area, hands down.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific sushi. Ate at anotherTerrific sushi. Ate at another sushi place the next day and there was no comparison. Sakana is the best.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFun and Delicious! Our first time at Sakana and we were impressed with the variety and flavors of the sushi we ordered. We also enjoyed the Saki flights - delicious! We will return the next time we're in the area.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMSakana's "Forbidden Love"We love this place. Not too big, not too small. Plenty of parking. Nice ambiance. Great prices and wonderful service. Reservations recommended on Friday and Saturday nights. My favorite entree is their "Forbidden Love" but they are excellent.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMSakana serves up amazing sushiSakana serves up amazing sushi but also has a full dinner menu with amazing dishes like the miso cod. They make the best fried rice ever! It's great to have fantastic sushi so close to home in Wayzata.3/18/2013 12:00:00 AMHigh quality sushi, range of sakesThe quality of the food was very high - including sushi, squid salad, and specialty rolls. There is a wonderful range of sakes to try - very impressive. The service this time was very much better than my first time (when we had to beg someone to serve us in a basically empty restaraunt)- tonight was packed, but service attentive and efficient. Only two problems: extremely dark (literally difficult to see menu) and honestly, the prices are a bit steep compared to other area sushi restaraunts, especially for the specialty rolls. The prices might keep me away from anything other than infrequent visits, which is too bad, as the restaraunt is nearby, and serves very well-prepared high quality food, and lets me try a wide variety of sakes.1/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
