A word from Saint Ann Restaurant and Bar
Designed by LA-based Shimoda Design Group and Harwood Design Team, Saint Ann Restaurant & Bar is the newest restaurant concept and has the largest garden patio in Dallas. Located next to Saint Ann Court, the historic St. Ann’s School was preserved and converted by Harwood International into a restaurant and bar surrounded by gardens and art. It is open for lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, and drinks.

The original structure was built in 1927 as Dallas' first school for Hispanic children. In addition to the original structure, Harwood International has preserved the mural of "Our Lady of Guadalupe" and serves as the focal point in the gardens. The first level of the two-story red brick building is Saint Ann Restaurant & Bar and the second level will house The Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection.

Please note that reservations cannot be made for the patio. Patio is first come, first serve.

  • "My friend and i had been looking for a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere and good food and Saint Ann delivered it all! The place was loud but yet enjoyable and energetic. Service was great and the food exquisite! We are looking forward to going back and taking our friends there for a great evening with them. The patio was just gorgeous and the tables on the side by the fires very intimate. Saint Ann is the perfect "hangout spot", as well as a perfectly romantic setting for a date night."

  • "The food wasn't that good at all. The steaks were not cooked as requested, and we sent one back; I kept mine because I didn't want to wait. They might want to think about having more of a selection on their appetizer menu. The noise level was a little loud of this particular restaurant, also."

  • "Great atmosphere in restaurant and bar area as well as patio which has city views. A menu with something for everyone. A Dallas dining highlight!"

  • "Went there for brunch this past Sunday. We request to sit on the patio... That was a mistake. They had live music playing, which was nice, but it was SO LOUD. It was impossible to have a conversation. They had a big cover on the patio that afternoon, which over-amplified the sound. The service was very slow from the beginning. The food was okay. Nothing special, but not bad. The end of our meal was when things really went downhill. It took us 45 mins from finishing our meal to being paid out. First, the initial check that came was wrong. After waiting 15 mins, we were finally able to get the waitress' attention to correct it. She did, but then left us again and didn't come back for 20 mins! She obviously was overwhelmed and needed help."

  • "We had brunch after my husband ran a 1/2 marathon. Very relaxing and delish! I look forward to going back and enjoying the patio when weather is warmer."

  • "We picked Saint Ann because of the great reviews and proximity to AA Center but we will be back because of the delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. We highly recommend the mussels although you will need extra bread to sop up the incredible broth! We had a very attentive and helpful waitress. We will be back."

  • "We tried Saint Ann Restaurant for the first time. Booked reservations at 12:15 and got our table right away! The brunch was delicious and I loved the look and feel of the restaurant. Very nice place to eat."

  • "Perfect place for a date. Ordered the Salmon and chicken, both were amazing. The Wine was great and the restaurant wasn't to noisy. Short walk to the American Airlines center for a game or concert."

  • "Service was simply courteous...nothing more. She seemed gerenally disinterested in our expierience and did the bare minimum in regard to service. We placed our wine order. Once the wine was delivered and served, we were asked for our orders. We asked if there were any specials. We were advised of of two off the menu items. She then went on to say that it as Tuesday night so all wine bottles under $50 were half-price. How interesting, since we ordered and were served a $52 bottle of wine, in which we chose over the $48."

  • "We (4 of us) had an wonderful brunch there is past Sunday. The place is amazing, such an interesting place and unique building. The brunch menu has a wide variety - I strongly recommend the Southwestern Benedict! If you have to wait, stroll thru the museum upstairs - a real nice surprise. They have a patio what will be the place to sit in a couple weeks as the weather warms a bit. Only problem we had was parking - hard to find a place. It was our first time there and will definitely become a regular."

  • "This was my first visit to Saint Ann. Had heard it had one of the best patios in Dallas and it certainly met my expectations. It certainly didn't hurt that it was a gorgeous day. I can't speak to much to the food because we were mainly there for drinks but my wife had the coconut soup and said it was amazing . Our server Maria was extremely attentive and very pleasant. Will certainly be coming back."

  • "Our third time here & tried new entrees this time. The scallops were delicate & delicious. The fish special with risitto was also good & ample portion. Always easy to find recognizable wines & new wines on the list. Service was a little rushed on a Saturday night & the bacon wrapped chicken was a little overdone/dry. Try a sorbet for dessert!"

  • "Great spot for dinner before an event at American Airlines. I called and was told I could not get a reservation until after 8 pm. I could not get reservations on line except at 4:45 pm I took the reservation and arrived to an almost completely empty restaurant and had to sit outside. The waiter was only average."

  • "The coconut soup is a must try. Also I had scallops, served with polenta, this is one of the best dishes on the menu. I can't wait to return for brunch."

  • "LOVED this place! It was a great find and the atmosphere, food & drinks were outstanding. Our server appeared to be overwhelmed with the number of tables she had but she handled herself well. Truffle Mac & Cheese……to die for!"

  • "I've enjoyed visiting Saint Ann's restaurant on beautiful spring, summer and fall evenings and especially prior to Mavericks games. It wasn't until this visit when my date and I both wanted to substitute a side dish that we were told the chef never allows that. We offered to pay an extra charge and were told it can't be done. I can't think of the last time I was at a quality restaurant in Dallas, NYC, Chicago, Denver, Phoenix or any where that the chef was so adamant about switching a simple side dish. One very fast way to spoil a nice dinner is to make that declaration and serve a meal that the patron isn't happy with for little reason. I'm happy there are so many choices to dine in Dallas."

  • "Saint Ann has always provided attentive service and attention and pride in their food. Maybe there have been recent changes, because unfortunately we found the service lacking and the food mediocre at best. This is a restaurant that those of us that live in Uptown, enjoy having and frequent often. We definitely will not abandon you, so please don't abandon us. Pep talk, finished!"

  • "This was my fourth visit to this restaurant and the food was great as usual. I had the red snapper which was cooked perfectly rested on a bed of flavorsome cous cous. The service was very quick although our waiter could have been friendlier. Portion sizes for me were just right...enough to leave me feeling satisfied but not too full."

  • "My husband and I made reservations to Saint Ann to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived on time, and the hostess tried to seat us outside. Though on nice summer evenings I am sure that is the best place to dine, we were wanting something a little more up-scale. We asked if we could sit in the dining room, and she said we could chose whatever two-top table we wanted. This was a bit annoying because I hate small tables. But I didn't say anything because I assumed it was a typical, busy Saturday night. However a few minutes later that same hostess sat a party of two at the four-top table right beside us. Our server was personable and helpful. The food was good. The wine and dessert were my favorite."

  • "Wonderful place to spend Valentines with my wife. Service was fantastic. I wish we had arrived earlier to enjoy the museum display upstairs (it closed at 6 pm)."

  • "Overall this restaurant is not on my list of places that I want to return to. Nothing was really wrong at dinner, it just didn't leave you with a memorable experience. The service was fine, the food tasted good but I would say the level of service was lacking. I ordered the chicken and asked if the skin could be removed in the kitchen. I was informed this could not be done, which was disappointing because removing the skin is not a hard thing to do. Our side dish came out late and my date's pork chop was so over cooked he couldn't cut it with a knife. However the other people at our table enjoyed their food. One other thing is that inside the actual restaurant the ambience is nice, however we were seated in the covered patio area."

  • "Great friendly service! The valentines menu was just delicious!"

  • "This place seems to have some serious possibilities for the warm weather months with an amazing patio. However, in February, the food isn't enough to carry this to greatness. We ordered three things: chicken poppers, the cheese plate and the pork chop. Chicken poppers lacked interest, but was basic. The pork chop was awful. It was super chewy and tough (a properly cooked pork chop from Kroger is better than the quality we got here). But, the cheese plate was colossal and my favorite item of the night. Weather has been bad in DFW and so this could explain the low key atmosphere on this evening, but I see serious potential once the weather warms around here and I do intend to revisit for appetizers and more beverages."

  • "PorK Chop was quite tough, not particularly tasty, and not unexpensive. Sauce was nice though. Duck was served too rare! Chicken Sizzler appetizer was very good as well as truffle fry's although you couldn't taste the truffle oil very well."

  • "This place is simply amazing! The food is superior, the service is exceptional and the environment is outstanding. Definitely a great hotspot. I have visited multiple times now and it is my current favorite restaurant. Recommend to everyone! Complimentary valet parking and a private samurai museum upstairs also!"

  • "Hostesses were okay. Restaurant was lovely and has nice patio but too cold the night we were there. Place is a little hard to find if you have not been there before and parking lot is across the street but they did have complimentary valet and the guys were very nice and friendly. Waiter was not attentive at all and we had to ask about specials and dessert, he had to read the one special from his notes, didn't bring dessert menu, and barely mentioned a few desserts without trying to sell them or describe them. Didn't see much of him the entire night. Someone else refilled water frequently and brought the food and wine to the table. Food was outstanding and temperatures were hot. Tables for 4 were tiny & quite close to the other diners."

  • "We were very impressed with the food, the service, the ambiance, et al. We were further impressed by the magnificent gallery upstairs containing a vast Samurai collection that brought the period to life. It was amazing. The Restaurant, paired with the collection, was a wonderful experience. I would recommend it highly to anyone. Now for the minus 1. The parking lot valet had no protection from the cold and rain. Otherwise, this Restaurant is tops all the way."

  • "Took my wife out for her birthday dinner along with another couple. Made the reservation on Open Table same day, so earliest opening was 8:45PM. Great open-air location. It is a pretty energetic place on a Saturday night, but that was perfect for us. We were having a great time, and I tend to get exponentially louder as the good times roll. No problem. The food was great. Excellent bar. Highly recommended as the focal point for a fun night on the town whether as a couple or with a group."

  • "From the moment I walked in, I knew this was a find. The atmosphere was inviting. The crowd was a mixture of casual and nicely dressed in their 30's and 40's. Food was presented artistically and was very good. Service was great. Will definitely go again."
