A word from Saint Ann Restaurant and Bar
Designed by LA-based Shimoda Design Group and Harwood Design Team, Saint Ann Restaurant & Bar is the newest restaurant concept and has the largest garden patio in Dallas. Located next to Saint Ann Court, the historic St. Ann’s School was preserved and converted by Harwood International into a restaurant and bar surrounded by gardens and art. It is open for lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, and drinks.

The original structure was built in 1927 as Dallas' first school for Hispanic children. In addition to the original structure, Harwood International has preserved the mural of "Our Lady of Guadalupe" and serves as the focal point in the gardens. The first level of the two-story red brick building is Saint Ann Restaurant & Bar and the second level will house The Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Mueller Museum: The Samurai Collection.

Please note that reservations cannot be made for the patio. Patio is first come, first serve.

  • "vibrant, neat setting , great courtyard, loved the crab cake appetizer which came with a salad garnish , my husband enjoyed his pork tenderloin, specialty drinks are refreshing"

  • "So in love with this place I have been twice in two weeks."

  • "We have gone here many times over the years and had thought it was decent. Last Saturday we ate on their patio and had one of the worst restaurant experiences. We got seated fairly quickly, but it goes down hill quickly from there. Our waitress was completely apathetic, in two hours we only got one round of drinks and never got our water glasses filled. We ordered the Mussels, which were incredibly small and bland. For entrees we ordered Scallops (chewy and bland), Red Snapper served on bed of lettuce (ok), Salmon (decent, but overcooked), and tried to order their signature Rib Eye, but they do not allow any substitutions (wanted the Fillet setup as the other was things we were allergic too). We never saw our waitress after the food came."

  • "I took my cousin and a friend who is soon to be married as girl's night out and it was amazing. The vibe, the people, and the ambiance was amazing. I am not one that typically goes to these types of locations, but I will definetly go again. My friends really enjoyed it, and the food was AMAZING!!! The burger, and the 16 oz steak. No sauce needed. The sangria and the skinny vida was awesome!"

  • "Our guests from Poland loved the food and atmosphere. We had a wonderful evening!"

  • "We had an excellent experience. Restaurant is very attractive, a little noisy, but fine. Loved the historic building. Server was a little stretched serving outside, as well, as inside. Had to ask a few other employees for service needed, but always attended to fairly quickly. Overall...a good visit."

  • "I've been here several times before. If you come by, even just for happy hour, you must make a reservation to be inside. When the patio is open its one of a fave spots. They have good mixed drinks, could use more on the beer selection."
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "Nice restaurant, but when the hostess tells you have you to be out by a certain time because there is another reservation after you, sets for the wrong tone. Never have we been told at a restaurant we were on a time limit! Probably won't be back because of this. Nice outdoor seating and bar. Wish had a bigger wine selection."

  • "We enjoyed our first visit to Saint Ann. The beet salad and heirloom tomato salad were fresh and well-prepared. I had the filet, and others at the table had fish. All done perfectly. Dessert was yummy - lemon tart and lemon sorbet. Very energetic - pretty loud - but made the experience fun and lively, rather than annoying. The outdoor space is lovely, although it was too warm for us that night, so we dined indoors."

  • "Food was quite good, but the waiter was incompetent. I ordered pork tenderloin, and the waiter asked if I would like it medium rare, which should have been a clue that he didn't understand what I was ordering. Of course I don't want medium rare pork. When the meal arrived, it seemed very much like beef rather than pork, but whatever, it was good and I didn't want to complain since I was out for my friend's birthday and didn't want to send the food back. When the bill arrived, the beef was apparently TWICE as expensive as the pork. A $40 mistake! For the amount of money I threw down at this restaurant, I'd expect a waiter who has clean ears."

  • "I absolutely love the atmosphere and look of the restaurant. They have a wonderful outdoor patio given the downtown location, but the food and service was a disappointment. Two of us order steaks, each of which was significantly overcooked, and the waiter never came back after serving to see ask if the meal was acceptable."

  • "Wonderful food, good wine list, outstanding desserts, attentive service, uniquely furnished. Just wish it hadn't been so hot outside or we would have LOVED to have eaten in the outdoor patio. Very nice ambiance! Will dine again next time we're down in Dallas."

  • "Took my wife for our 5 year anniversary. Sat on the patio. Great ambience. Ordered filet and rib-eye. Steaks came out over done, but my wife didn't complain about hers because she hadn't eaten. My steak was redone and the second time it came out, it was overdone again. By this time, my wife had finished her meal and we were in no mood to wait for another steak. We left with with $150 tab, which the majority were drinks we had while waiting on food."

  • "We went for brunch and I thought they had a nice brunch menu. Too bad it was raining - the best thing about this place is the patio and unfortunately they weren't seating out there due to the rain. It was almost too loud for brunch with my husband and our moms, but we had a nice time."

  • "If you blink you'd miss Saint Ann's - didn't even realize that it was within walking distance of our hotel until our friends suggested it for dinner. Great atmosphere and the food was very good and reasonably priced. I had the duck breast and it was very tender. Food was served quickly and dining outside was a delight. (It was also a bit quieter outside than inside.)"

  • "We arrived to celebrate our anniversary, without realizing that a Mav's playoff game was an hour later...crazy busy but the hostess and manager were awesome-told us up front there would be a delay and promised it would calm down 20 minutes before tip-off...offered us a complimentary cocktail and a comfy seat to wait. Sure enough, we had the place to ourselves in no time and the food, the service and the atmosphere were fabulous!!"

  • "Great brunch menu and wine list. Exceptional Eggs Benedict Salmon. Although busy, service outstanding. Prefer dining indoors for Sunday morning brunch but outdoor patio in the afternoon. Reservation ensures prompt indoor seating. Tour upstairs museum before or after dining."

  • "One of the best patios in Dallas. Great for relaxing and having drinks. If you're there for the food there are much better options in Dallas. I thought the menu was limited and the food generally uninspiring. If they would just concentrate a little more on the food this place would be spectacular"

  • "My friend and i had been looking for a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere and good food and Saint Ann delivered it all! The place was loud but yet enjoyable and energetic. Service was great and the food exquisite! We are looking forward to going back and taking our friends there for a great evening with them. The patio was just gorgeous and the tables on the side by the fires very intimate. Saint Ann is the perfect "hangout spot", as well as a perfectly romantic setting for a date night."

  • "The food wasn't that good at all. The steaks were not cooked as requested, and we sent one back; I kept mine because I didn't want to wait. They might want to think about having more of a selection on their appetizer menu. The noise level was a little loud of this particular restaurant, also."

  • "Went there for brunch this past Sunday. We request to sit on the patio... That was a mistake. They had live music playing, which was nice, but it was SO LOUD. It was impossible to have a conversation. They had a big cover on the patio that afternoon, which over-amplified the sound. The service was very slow from the beginning. The food was okay. Nothing special, but not bad. The end of our meal was when things really went downhill. It took us 45 mins from finishing our meal to being paid out. First, the initial check that came was wrong. After waiting 15 mins, we were finally able to get the waitress' attention to correct it. She did, but then left us again and didn't come back for 20 mins! She obviously was overwhelmed and needed help."

  • "We had brunch after my husband ran a 1/2 marathon. Very relaxing and delish! I look forward to going back and enjoying the patio when weather is warmer."

  • "We picked Saint Ann because of the great reviews and proximity to AA Center but we will be back because of the delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. We highly recommend the mussels although you will need extra bread to sop up the incredible broth! We had a very attentive and helpful waitress. We will be back."
