  • "This was our fourth time to the restaurant. We enjoy meeting friends for a good dinner there. The restaurant never disappoints. I had the salmon, my wife had the steak, and our friends had the pork loin. The food and service was excellent. They change the menu around so there is always something new to try."

  • "The house-made charcuterie was a revelation--on par with the best I've ever had. Sublime escargots. Jidori chicken, confit de canard, boeuf bourgignon.... All amazing, authentic and delicious. Be sure to make a reservation as the secret to this Culver City gem is out!"

  • "We are regular patrons of this lovely, local bistro. It was really an off night, and we wanted it to be a little bit more special since it was a Christmas Eve dinner for us. The bus staff, a young woman, rushed us. There were three of us at the table. And while two of us had finished our entrees, the bus person swept over, removed all of the plates on the table, including the bread plate and the bread basket while the diner who had not yet finished their meal was still eating. We had to call her back to return with the bread and a fresh bread plate. That was just so uncalled for. And then she was rather snippy when she checked back, saying "lady - do you want more water." We plan to talk to the owners of Saint Amour ourselves."

  • "You know how you order gnocchi in a restaurant and it comes out and your take a bite and it's kind of a gluey mess? That didn't happen to me at Saint Amour. One of our specials for Christmas Eve dinner was a lobster thermador served over gnocchi, and these were the best, little pillows of air that just melted in my mouth. I'm still dreaming of them. The rest of the meal was fabulous as well - the hub had venison that was flavorful without being gamey and our starters of baked oysters and escargot were perfect. We adore this restaurant. Service is always fabulous, and with their heatlamps we can sit outside on all but the coldest nights. A little bit of Paris in Culver City."

  • "I had wanted to like Saint Amour, as I have a friend who goes there frequently. Our waiter was attentive, but I don't think he spoke six words to us the entire evening. When we were about to order, he told us they were out of the chicken, which was a disappointment. My friend asked if there were any specials. "No." No suggestions, no explanations about the chicken. Then, a party entered who brought a baby. Who proceeded to scream the entire evening. They were there for 2 hours. Our wordless waiter never checked to see how we were doing with the din. I know management can't do much about babies, but it would have been nice if someone had checked on us. A light over us wasn't working and flashed on and off the entire evening. Sigh"

  • "I did enjoy this restaurant, although last time the service was not quite as good as before and a couple people in my group were not thrilled about their food. Now, I see it has closed. Too bad. I loved it at one time."

  • "This visit was our second. The place was considerably busier on a Friday night than the time before. The food is absolutely superb and sold at most reasonable prices. We shall return."

  • "Bruno's Charcuterie plate was so delicious. Good wine fairly priced as well. Grilled salmon was expertly cooked. Crispy skin and moist flakes inside. The best!"

  • "Saturday night, went around 9pm; place was busy and noisy, although not completely full, Got in right away and had pretty good service. Endive salad was excellent, Steak with Frites was quite good. Good choices of wine by the glass. Finished with expressos. We were the last people there and they were waiting for us to leave around 11 so I guess we enjoyed it!"

  • "I've been several times since they opened and liked it a lot, but this last visit was only a bit above okay. The waiter was not knowledgeable about wines, but was ready to push a very "safe" choice. He did give me a taste so I was able to order something much more interesting. Toward the end of the meal, the buser actually asked me if I was "still working on that." Really unfortunate."

  • "Service was not very friendly - in fact, the hostess seemed surprosed to see us. We had to wait at least 10 minutes for our table of three - at the bar - although the restaurant was nearly empty at 7pm. In their defense, there were several large holiday parties expected, so the staff seemed not to care about our "little" group of three. The noise level was almost unbearable. Our waiter was surly and didn't even offer a "hello" or a "bonsoir, " didn't bring the refill of bread we asked for. The food was excellent however, well prepared and served in a timely manner once we were seated. I have been to the restaurant for lunch and service was better and more relaxed when seated on the patio."

  • "This was our second time to Saint Amour and it was even better than the first. The endive salad with apple slices and a French cheese was perfectly dressed. The casoulet, which I shared with my wife (it is only made for two or more) was among the best we have had anywhere. Fortunately, it is located only 1/2 a block from the Douglas Theatre. We will return!"

  • "What a wonderful time we had at Saint Amour. We loved our server Kavim, he brought such a warm vibe to our evening. He let us sample a couple of wines before we found the one we LOVED!!! The food was very good - the sunchoke soup was divine (recipe please...). The only issue we had was logistically. We were seeing a show at the Kirk Douglas theater at 6:30 PM (only a few doors down) so we made a reservation for 5 PM. However, when we arrived, we were told that the kitchen didn't open until 5:30 PM. I wish they wouldn't have taken our reservation for 5 if our dinner wouldn't start to be made until 5:30. We had to skip dessert because of time. :( Otherwise, a wonderful evening and we'll be back (when we don't have theater tix)."

  • "We were there on a night when a private diner had a party of 17 so it was busier than usual and service was a slower. But that was to be expected. The private diner was an international foody so that in itself was an endorsement of the restaurant. Our food was exquisite. The casolet for two with lamb and duck confit and three kinds of sausage was excellent as was the Beef Cheeks. The mushroom pot pie was so good we will come back for it. The escargot is served with little puff pastry muffin tops to dip in the sauce and the frog legs made you want to lick the plate. Finally the pot of salted chocolate with caramel was heavenly."

  • "We loved our experience at Le Saint Amour - food and service excellent. I would highly recommend it especially the outside dining. It was cool and we dined inside the restaurant but I would definitely choose outside on our next visit. We had lobster bisque, mussels and chicken - just perfect French bistro food."

  • "I was making plans to meet a friend who recently arrived from Sweden for a visit. She wanted to try to eat somewhere new, I gave her several choices based on the extended schedule for Dine LA week. She chose Le Saint Amour. The place is cozy, comfortable, plenty of seating, inside and out, friendly staff. Our waiter was giving us the run down on specials, when i asked him about the Dine LA menu, a special 3 course menu for a set price that was a part of that event, and had been extended at this restaurant as per DineLA website. It was one of the reasons we had chosen this place. He told us that it's no longer in effect, but that the owner was there and he would check with her. He came back stating the same: "It's no longer available". We c"

  • "Boeuf bourguignon was over cooked, filled with gristle and tasteless. Serviced an equally bad pasta. Service, hors d'oeuvre and the water were excellent. Grossly over priced relative to the quality of the food."

  • "The food is always good. The service is always S L O W. This time the fryer was broken which was a drag because my friend wanted the mussels with fries and had to settle for mashed potatoes instead. But, the rest of the meal was delicous and we even had the profiteroles covered in chocolate sauce for dessert."
