  • "The food was presented nicely, but not authentically flavorful. The chef's modifications of the food put it into fusion category. Take lamb luc lac for ecample, while the lamb was tender, it did not even come close to the luc lac flavor of seared beef. The sauce was so salty that is not edible without rice($3,sold as sides) Howevr, maybe the most disappointing part is the price. Way overpriced for the portions served. The service and ambiance are the strength."

  • "Went with 3 friends on an early Friday night before the main dinner rush. Excellent service, quite atmosphere (I don't even remember hearing the Green Line). Food display was all excellent. Flavoring was slightly different than anything I've had before, some good and some just okay. Not that filling, we had 4 entrees and 2 appetizers and were not satiated (lamb luc lac was our favorite entree and the bread in the mussels sauce was delicious). So price for amount of food is high, and so I think Saigon Sisters is only fit for foodies looking for something new and interesting. Or perhaps lunch, they had some interesting and reasonably priced lunch specials."

  • "I have gone to Saigon Sisters a couple of times now, and love the food! The fresh spring rolls with shrimp and pork are excellent- especially the homemade peanut sauce. I have had a couple other things on the menu, but those are my "go-to". The only negative comment I have about this restaurant, is, and this is unfortunate, but the price of alcohol. Their cocktails are priced at $15 a cocktail... and their Corkage Fee is $35 Monday-Thursday and then not offered on Friday or Saturday. I just think that a $35 corkage fee is ridiculous."

  • "I'd never been to Saigon Sisters and have rarely eaten Vietnamese food, so my boyfriend and I were really excited to try this place out. It did not disappoint, from the attentive and friendly staff to the unique, delicious food we enjoyed every bit! I'd definitely love to go back to try some more items off the menu - we got the baby octopus and lamb dish which I definitely recommend."

  • "Everything we had was wonderful, starting with spring rolls and ending with the banana bread pudding. We also had the bbq ribs, fried rice and the vegetable dish which that night was cauliflower. I don't even much like cauliflower but I am converted, really good. I think it is a bit pricey but worth it once in awhile. I'd definitely come back. Service was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Dinner during the week is obviously a slow time for them."

  • "The food was delicious. Unfortunately, we were distracted by the poor service and close proximity of the group sitting next to us. I included a special birthday request for a surprise dessert when I submitted my Open Table reservation. The dessert was never delivered. Additionally, our waitress forgot one of the items we ordered. It was not included on the bill, but by the time we realized it wasn't coming out it was too late and we needed to leave. We also had to flag down the waitress every time we needed something because she didn't come to check on us. "

  • "Saigon Sisters is simply an excellent and different experience. I had never been curious about Vietnamese cuisine and i was a bit leery of the tiny restaurant under the El tracks on Lake. however, I've been there four or five times now and they never disappoint. The food is excellent, spicy in most cases without being overpowered by the heat. Portion size is solid, prices are within reason and the service is generally good. It can be a little cramped in there; i don't think the restaurant can hold more than 35 or 40 people. However, the noise level isn't too bad. We plan to try more of the entrees and add this to our semi-regular list of go-to places."

  • "The food was absolutely delicious: quinoa salad, steamed fish (Ca Hap), lobster sandwich, and muscles were our favorite. The deserts were excellent as well (banana bread pudding and sweet sticky rice). I can not think of a bad item here. The whole snapper is an art within itself - the presentation and flavor are both out of this world. We shared a bottle of white wine - the savennieres. It complimented the food very well. The crafted cocktails were excellent as well, especially the Dragon Pearl and the HaLong Breeze. I never think of this place having good cocktails since their list is limited but all the ones we had were amazing. Staff was nice and friendly and always willing to help!"

I'm not sure there was anything on the menu under $10. We would go back for sure, but maybe 1-2x per year only."

  • "Good but pricey. Don't be fooled by the waitstaff's recommendations that you need to order 2 plates per person plus appetizers. It was too much food and expensive. Why does the wine per glass have to be priced at $15/glass? Have some selections that are in the $8 range that are good as well. The eggplant and short ribs were good but a bit too sweet. The vegetable of the day of cauliflower with fish sauce/paste was just ok. Not sure why opentable indicates the price is $30 per person when it's more like $50/per person without alcohol."

  • "Went for dinner. The food quality did not match the price that Saigon Sisters' restaurant charged for its dinner dishes. With the exception of the Lamb Luc, which was made fresh (it was also the most expensive item on the menu), everything else (Baby Octopus, Pork Belly Bahn Bao, Fresh Spring Rolls, and the Beef Pho) seemed pre-made and tasted more like fast-food quality dishes than restaurant quality dishes. Ambiance was small and tight, instead of intimate and romantic, and made it difficult for conversation unless you almost shout. If you must, go for lunch, but not for dinner, as they serve almost all the same food items (at cheaper and more honest and reasonable prices) during lunchtime."

  • "This is the second time I have eaten at this restaurant and the food was excellent but not unusual. Perhaps I am just getting jaded, but it seems to me that now that I have visibly aged (I am 67), my food is usually prepared more blandly than it was when I was younger. I could have used more spice. Our wait person seemed not to be on the ball. Rather than seeing that my shearing coat was too heavy for the chair and offering to hang it up, he let the chair fall over. He assumed that I would want to drink my beer out of the bottle, and he suggested what turned out to be fruit drink for my companion when she wanted a white wine recommendation. Nevertheless, I still think this restaurant offers an oasis of good Asian food in the West Loop."

  • "Nestled underneath the tracks on Lake Street, Saigon Sisters is right around the corner from the French Market. Having selected this restaurant from the Open Table list, we were not disappointed with the food which had good flavors accompanied by a variety of sauces. The menu was limited for lunch, but there were sufficient entrées from which to choose. While the restaurant was clean and decorated, the delicatessen atmosphere was not what I expected. Saigon Sisters has a wine list, but with most glasses of wine in the $15 range, it was easy to pass up for lunch. I thought that they might be trying to recoup their profits on the wine to compensate for moderately priced food. All-in-all, we had a good experience. The service was great."

  • "I enjoy this place more every time I visit. It's been a perfect spot for me to enjoy lunch with a colleague, dinner with a foodie friend, and a romantic dinner date with the husband. The ambiance is quiet, intimate, and modern. Very small, but that only lends to the "quiet and intimate" part of the experience. The food is phenomenal -- SO flavorful! Some of the dishes truly conjure up memories of some of the best dishes I ate while visiting Vietnam. Not a place I'd recommend for a big group or a rowdy crowd."
