  • "Above average Moroccan food. Middle east dishes are superior to most middle east restaurants"

  • "The food was very authentic, the service was exceptional! I was very impressed with the entire restaurant. We were with a large party with children and they were able to accommodate us with ease. So glad we found it, we will return!!"

  • "Sahara is always a consistently a delicious restaurant that we continue to visit and bring new guests to enjoy. We have celebrated a variety of special occasions at Sahara & most recently my family chose to surprise me for Mother's Day! I don't believe they were expecting such a June turn out, as there were only two servers. Thankfully we arrived early, but by the time we left the place was almost completely full! Great atmosphere, staff, but even better, their delicious fare! We love it! Try the garlic chicken but ask for it to be spicy! Also the vegetarian sitter to start is the perfect way to experience Sahara!"

  • "We can always count on a great meal from Sahara. The wait staff is friendly and the food is always delicious. Their lamb shank fell off the bone and their falafel was perfectly cooked (not overly fried as to become too crusty). The stuffed grape leaves appetizer was just right for the 4 of us. The food comes out quickly, but you'll still feel very comfortable lingering over a glass of wine well after your meal is finished."

  • "We've been to most of the Middle Eastern restaurants in Denver and this one blows them all out of the water! Such rich flavor and high quality meats!"

  • "We had a group of 11 including 5 kids when we dined at Sahara. The staff had the table ready when we arrived and they were very attentive throughout. The Hummus and Baba Ganoush was really good. Everyone's main dish was very good as well. The standout of the evening was the Honey Apricot Lamb Tajine. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the belly dancer (Saturday night) was fun for everyone as well. I would definitely recommend them."

  • "While spending a significant time in the Gulf region, I discovered a real penchant for Middle Eastern food. Since then, I've been looking for a good Middle Eastern restaurant in the South side of Denver, and it looks like I've finally found one! The food was excellent and authentic, and the menu provided a large number of choices for every palate. The belly dancer was an interesting touch, as well. "

  • "We purposely schedule dinner for a Saturday night so we could see the belly dancer. She was awesome! She took the time to take pictures with the kids and even gave them a lesson on how to belly dance. The entire group loved their food choices. A great evening had by all."

  • "We've been to Sahara many times and have always had good food and very kind service. I have dreams about the spicy chicken dish. I know DTC/Centennial isn't known as a foodie hotspot, but this is a great spot for delicious Middle Eastern food."

  • "The Hummus and Tabouli are very good. The lamb was solid and the beef in the Shawarma was outstanding. All in all, the entire experience was very good and enjoyable."

  • "My husband and I ate there last Sunday. We waited to be greeted as there was no one at the front. We noticed quite a few customers having to wait for some time to be seated on arrival. The restaurant needs up dated. The wall near our table is chipped and our vinyl tablecloth was less than appealing. The service was just so so. We both had a lamb entrée and felt like it was over cooked. The saffron rice was quite good. We won't go back."

  • "I have been going to Sahara for 14 years and it never disappoints. They are without a doubt the best Middle Eastern cuisine in the Denver and they are constantly updating their menu and restaurant. Saturday and Friday nights they have very tasteful and fun belly dancing and their food is second to none in the area. Their staff has very low turnover and most of them haven't changed since I started going there and they are all great. The food has never been anything but authentic and delicious. Weekend nights they have great Tajines with if you have never had one is a real treat. For the portion sizes and quality they are reasonable and with the beautiful last remodel the ambiance is outstanding. Make them your tradition today!"

  • "Living in suburbia in unincorporated Jefferson County, we do not have a lot of good, ethnic restaurants near us, rather there are mostly mediocre chain restaurants. Having a craving for Middle Eastern food, we tried Sahara, and were glad we did. We tried a delicious apricot lamb dish, a wonderful baked salmon, and the house combination plate. All were amazing looking, and tasting. Everything, including the hummus, seemed fresh and homeade. Sahara is the kind of restaurant that is worth the extra drive time."

  • "I wasn't sure what to expect from this restaurant, but the food was delicious! The strip mall it's located in and the decor is less than exciting, but overall it's worth eating here. Try the Lebanese wine, nice surprise."

  • "Sahara has the most delicious falafel, they are light and the flavor balance is perfect. Their food is always good (trust me, I frequent this place at least once a month), and their baklava is amazing, served with hot honey syrup. It's a great restaurant for gluten-free or gluten-restricted diets as things are marked appropriately on the menu. I almost always get the Sahara All Veggie Special because it has a little bit of everything that I crave when I eat here. Highly recommended!!!"

  • "We visited Sahara for the first time on Saturday night and definitely enjoyed the food. We were a group of 4 which allowed us to sample 4 different appetizers and 4 different entrees. Each dish was wonderfully spiced and delicious. We especially loved the pastilla appetizer - chicken in puff pastry. Each entrée was large and two of our group got to take home food for lunch the next day. On Saturday night they have a belly dancer who starts around 7:00PM whose entrance really made the restaurant come to life. Definitely a fun evening and one we look forward to re-enacting again."

  • "We are regulars at Sahara, which is near our home. We tend to get the same favorite dishes on most visits. The food is generally consistent and very yummy. Service is comfortable. Just keep in mind if you are going for a quiet dinner and chatting, check with them about their Belly Dancing performances. We forgot the other night, went at main dinner time on a Saturday and were seated under a speaker. When the Belly Dancing occurred, the music was very loud for us and we couldn't talk easily. I am sure the performance is enjoyed by many, but that night it was not of interest to us and was a little disruptive. So, depending on your interest, check the schedule -- it may be just Saturday nights. Overall, again, we like Sahara!"

  • "The only thing missing was "Home Made Pita". Store bought and cold, does not cut it with such good food otherwise. Gotta try the Hush-Puppies"

  • "Our neighborhood group of 4 couples go out to dinner quarterly. It was my turn to choose the restaurant and I chose Sahara as I am trying to find a local Middle Eastern restaurant as good as the two we tried in London. This is as close as I have come to finding that... The food was great, the service good and the Lebanese red wine delicious. Every one enjoyed the evening. DG"

  • "Don't mind the trek from downtown to the DTC area to have Sahara. The grape leaves are delicious. I love the homemade hummus. The pita bread is fresh. Their veggie platter is perfect!!!!"

  • "The food was amazing and I am a HUGE fan of Lubna's Spicy Chicken. The service was poor on Sunday evening when we went. We have been to Sahara many times and this is the first time I can report bad service. The restaurant was very slow and quiet when we were there which leads me to believe that the service is better when the restaurant is full."

  • "I had no idea what to expect dining at a Moroccan restaurant. I was looking for different and found the Sahara on OpenTable. The hummus was fantastic and the best I have ever had. The main course, Louba's Spicy Chicken was excellent. The spices were wonderful and flavorful. The chicken was tender and the sauce was outstanding. My date had the salmon and it was wonderful too. I look forward to eating there again. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the Sahara!"

  • "I went with my sister, her daughter and son-in-law (and their baby). My niece & her husband are very particular about food, so when they said it was really good, you have to know the food was outstanding. We had hummus, grape leaves and pastillas (spelling?), which were amazing! For dinner, I had my salmon, which was delicious, my sister had the lamb shank, which she loved, my niece had the Saraha Combo which she enjoyed a lot, and her hubby raved about the gyros plate. I thought the hummus was about the best I've ever eaten, and the safron rice was delicious. Our waitress was great ~ attentive and had a great sense of humor. (I wish I could recall her name, as we will be going back and, when we do, will be asking for her."

  • "Excellent food. Delicious. Good portions and good prices. Service was a bit slow, but it was very busy so I understand that. The belly dancer was irritatingly loud. Would be better without her."

  • "The food was amazing. However, I feel it was a bit expensive. If I didn't have a "coupon" for a meal I don't think it would have been my first choice. I went on a Friday evening which was a mistake because it was crowded and the serivice was a little under staffed. I think we waited a little under ten minutes for someone to bring us water. Once the staff got it together, the service was pretty good."

  • "Terrific food...Service was too slow and when food arrived was cold."

  • "The food was great, the service quite good, but I was very disappointed in the seating. I asked for specific seeing by the window, 2 weeks in advance, and not by the kitchen. We were seated near the kitchen, right under the speaker. Maybe they could pay more attention to requested made that far in advance and try to accommodate that. thank you."
