Sage Restaurant is excellent. We've been going there for almost four years and it is always a good time, with great food. New Year's Eve was the last night for Sage at this location. Look for them to reopen somewhere near the John Wayne airport. Can't wait.

We have dined at Sage for 15 years. Our New Year's Eve dinner was the last at this location. We eagerly await Chef Mead's relocation of Sage to a nearby new location, hopefully this spring. He has a loyal following and we are among them. Sage has such healthy, farm to table offerings and a loyal following. We heartily recommend Sage to all..an innovative and creative menu brings us back time after time!?

Sage has a varied menu and you are guaranteed to find something you would like. The food is very well prepared and you feel very comfortable in the restaurant. It's the type of place that you want to visit often. I prefer lunch because it's not as noisy. On busy nights, it's not that easy to have a conversation.

Sage has been a local favorite for many years. They should have their own theme song. Great food and friendly service; menu changes and daily specials ensure you never get bored. Unfortunately, their landlord is forcing them to relocate via a large rent increase, so Sage is closing, at least for a little while, while they find new digs. A loss for Eastbluff.

Sage is my first choice when out-of-town guests arrive. There is always something good (and different) on the menu. Only thing I've never done is eat there alone - not sure why - Sage just says to me that anytime I bring a guest - we will enjoy ourselves. That is what I am looking for in a restaurant.

Quality and varied food menu in a good atmosphere with very reasonable prices in Newport Beach. Beats all the competition in the city for value and serves after 8 PM on Sunday evenings! Can't believe the Irvine co. is closing them down (unreasonable lease terms)!

We were seated 35 minutes after our reserved time. Bill was not adjusted even though the hostess offered us a free drink for the inconvience. They were out of our first and second choice of wine which waiter did not know in advance so we had to wait only to find out they didn't have the wine we selected. Food was very good.

We spent Thanksgiving Week in the Newport/Laguna area - - our first time. We relied on Open Table for our restaurant recommendations. Sage sort of jumped out at us with a consistent string of 4-star recommendations. The four of us were very pleased with the atmosphere, food and service. The décor was a bit dated but the food easily made up for the paint and fixtures. We fully enjoyed our visit to Sage and would not think twice about recommending or going back next time we’re on the Newport Coast.

I have always been impressed with Sage, and therefore for this Thanksgiving decided to book a reservation there. When are arriving, we were seated outdoors in the dark cold area, and I was never asked whether this option was one that I would be interested in. The Thanksgiving dinner the turkey was good but not great as I would expect from Sage, and the waiter seemed to be bothered by having to work that day.

It is very sad for many regular customers that the lease, held by the Irvine Company, will not be renewed. Sage will be closing forever, at this address, in December. Many of us have sent letters to the Irvine Company, but they are very interested in income but appear to not be much interested in the neighborhood and the continuance of an excellent, much appreciated restaurant.

Sage has a wonderful reputation in the Newport Beach for an excellent menu, food, ambience and location. It is tucked away in the Eastbluff community and a local gem. The community is very upset and generating a petition to ask the Irvine Company to rescind their decision to end their lease at the end of the year. I would highly recommend Sage and hope that they remain in their current location.
