  • Parking Details: There is metered parking on 3rd St & 2nd Ave $1 per hour (meters enforced until 11pm daily for 2 hours). A convenient secured & well lit parking ramp (Ramp C) is located on 2nd Ave between 3rd & 4th St (just across the street from our building).

  • "Unfortunately the first hostess who greeted us was either having a bad night or new. We went there to start off our 25th wedding anniversary weekend and was going to be seated at the worst table until we said something. I had told them in advance that it was our 25th and wished for a special table. Thankfully the other hostess/manager saw all that transpired and we were seated at a lovely table within seconds. We asked the waitress for recommendations and she said everything is good - but we were looking for a little guidance or recommendations on size etc...The lamb was amazing and it was very kind that the chef came out to ask us about our meal. Would we go there again? Yes, for a date night, friends, but not for a very special occasion."

  • "We had never been to Saffron before and our server never asked that question or told us anything about how to order, etc. The we ordered a 2012 bottle of wine and recieved a 2013 - which is fine, but when we asked our server about it he just said it was a typo on the menu and never offered us anything else or a discount. He was rude about it. I always say you can have terrible food, but if you have an awesome server, you forget about the terrible food. This was not the case at Saffron. The food was good, especially the Sea Bass entree, that was my favorite. It was so tender. Everything else was super rich. We ended up sharing a bunch of stuff between the 3 of us and it worked out great."

The restaurant smelled right from the moment I walked in, with the subtle smells of good Middle Eastern spices. We ordered small dishes to share and enjoyed them all, though disappointed there was no kibbeh. Of our selection, we especially enjoyed the traditional spreads, sausages (na’anik), cinnamon-scented slow-cooked green beans, and chicken “bisteeya”, all served with wonderful fresh pita."

  • "My daughter and I were visiting Minneapolis and stumbled upon Saffron through Open Table - it was near our hotel. We had a fabulous meal - great reccomndations from our server (portion sizes and blending of dishes). The food was served at a great pace, nothing rushed so we were able to reflect on our busy day and enjoy the dishes as they were presented. After arriving back at our hotel, we saw Saffron was listed as one of the top 50 resaurants in Minneapolis!!! Great find for us!!!"

  • "Noted on Open Table reservation that our group of 6 was celebrating my wife's birthday, no mention was ever made of it. Our waiter rarely checked back with us. During appetizers our beverages were empty, but no waiter for 10 min. I had to ask the water server to ask the waiter to come back. After clearing appetizers, the waiter never reset the table and two of us didn't have forks when dinner was served: I had to ask the water guy for forks. Expensive dinner, inattentive staff."

  • "We came in as a group of 4 for dinner. We shared many of the small plates including the octopus, cauliflower, meatballs, hummus and had the lamb tagine for the main entree. Oh yes - 2 people just had to have the lamb brains. Can't forget the lamb brains. The food was excellent as was the service and there was plenty to share with a bottle of Cotes du Rhone recommended by our server. This was a return visit for us and we'd certainly recommend Saffron to others looking for a special evening meal."

The food was delicious, and I felt as though the offerings were varied enough to really show off the menu to someone who had never been there before. Most impressive were the wines that were served (an optional add on) with each course. They had obviously been paired very well, and they just brought the whole meal to the next level! Oddly, we all took an intense dislike to our waiter, who said that "All white wines are fruity" when asked about a particular one. He didn't ruin a lovely evening for us. Also, the owner stopped by and chatted for a while. It was lovely."

  • "We went for the Valentine's Day tasting menu with wine pairings. The experience was fantastic (Valentine's Day tasting menu patrons were given white tablecloth treatment). The trout is to die for. One ding on service: for the steak course only one of us received a knife. We were given a second promptly after we pointed it out, with an apology and the explanation that they had nearly run out. In all other respects the service was excellent - helpful, unobtrusive yet responsive, unfailingly courteous."

  • "The five course tasting menu was perfectly selected. Each course was a new flavor from the last and they all were cooked to perfection. The spices of each course worked well with the overall flavor palate. The portions were small but very flavorful. I would have liked to have less down-time in between courses however. My fiancé and I waited about 20 minutes between each course which made for a long night. We ended up getting the dessert course to-go because we were behind schedule."

  • "We had the 6 course tasting menu. The food was interesting different and tasty and paired with wines that were from non traditional regions which complimented the food nicely. . The waiter was also awesome. Our only drawback was it took a long time and we had to leave before desert because we had a show to go to. But it was Valentine's day and the time wouldn't have mattered as we were totally enjoying ourselves. Strongly recommend."

  • "When ever we get to Minneapolis, we make sure to stop at Saffron. Each time every dish is just spot on perfect. From the tagines, to the fish, to the cocktails, attention to detail shows. We worry we will get a miss (because every place is going to have an off night, or off dish), but it never happens. Oh, and once you have this humus, every other one you try will never live up to it."

The tagines are especially tasty (and the small portion was plenty for 1 hungry diner). A satisfying meal can also be created with appetizers/sides (for example, Middle Eastern Sausage, Squash & Mushroom Farrotto, and Charred Brussels Sprouts was more than enough food for dinner)."
