A word from Saffire
Nestled within The Factory at Franklin, the chefs at Saffire begin stoking the coals early in the day, well before any guests ever arrive. These Tennessee Hickory coals radiate from within the hand-built smoker and cast iron grill of Saffire's exposed kitchen.

Locally grown produce and indigenous flavors combine with exotic ingredients, deliciously tender meats and a phenomenal array of wines and libations to create a menu that is uniquely Saffire. A welcoming staff further distinguishes your experience at Saffire from anywhere else around.

Locally and nationally acclaimed, Saffire is a neighborhood restaurant with a big city feel. It's a sought-after destination for both locals and visitors who know it is well worth the trip outside of Nashville to experience everything that only Saffire can provide. Wonderfully creative cuisine and spectacular wine, welcoming surroundings and attentive service; this is Saffire.

my wife and I booked this for 8p. We arrived at 7:45p and were told that your table will be available at 8 p. We went to the bar and walked past a few open tables which one ended up being our table. We questioned why we weren't seated when we arrived. That said - we loved the instrument band that played, the guests we met, the service at the bar, and our wait person. The food was good. The liquor and wine are a bit pricey.

My wife and I went out for date night Saturday. Drinks were creative and tasty, the KY Bourbon Ale was very good, and our food was delicious. The gumbo ya ya, New South Caesar salad, Chicken Fried Chicken and New York Strip were all well presented, well cooked and the Truffle fries are addictive. We love the old bar at Saffire, and the atmosphere is great. Overall, we kept wondering why it had been so long since we last dined here. We'll return much sooner next time!

We brought out of town guests to Saffire for lunch. The table reserved was actually saved for us; the waitress was very attentive and accommodating (even brought small samples of the soups for the day to taste); the bartender made great drinks and told us the history of the antique wooden bar; prices were reasonable; and overall it was the perfect choice for first time visitors to experience a piece of Franklin. We've brought other guests to Saffire and everyone has been equally impressed. We love it there!

Excellent dinner. Decided to have appetizers as our main course and they did not disappoint. Enjoyed lobster empanadas, fried avocado and spicy shrimp. All 3 dishes were flavorful, fresh and delicious! Loved the fried avocado with shrimp salsa. Another member of our party had the crab cake salad and raved about it. Our service was very good as well. We were headed to a show at Music City Roots and our waiter made sure we were served promptly so we were not late for the start of the show. Cocktails were topnotch as well. We will be back.

My wife and I had never been here before. I decided to make reservations for our five year anniversary. Highly recommend reservations as they were turning people away with a 2 hour wait time. Great live music bit we were still able to hold a conversation so it was not overly loud. We started with the lobster empanadas which were perfectly cooked. I ordered the fish tacos and my wife the salmon. Both entrees were excellent. I tend to cover everything in hot sauce but the flavor was so good I could not bring my self to it. Our server doug was also top notch. Highly recommend

I ordered the crab cake salad with some hesitation because I lived on the Eastern Shore of Maryland for a number of years and those are the crab cakes all others are judged against. Saffire did not disappoint! They were delicious and I plan to make that my standing order on future visits. We also recommend the cheese plate appetizer for several to share and the fabulous Mud Pie for dessert.

I booked a reservation there before a Music City Roots event. The Open Table reservation helped because we were on a tight timeline for the show. The service was quick and our server was very attentive, offering options but not pushy. We had the blackened fish tacos which was an excellent choice. Everything on the plate was tasty - and eaten. The restaurant itself was well handled in all respects. The manager came by to check on us. The atmosphere leaned toward casual. I'll be back.

I have been a customer for years at Sapphire and this is the first time the experience was less than desirable. I ordered the shrimp and grits. When it arrived, I took the first bite and it tasted like someone had poured the entire box of salt on it. To double check, I had my wife, a salt lover, try the dish and she could not handle it either. The waitress was very delightful and helpful to take it away and offer an alternative. I elected to go with the Prime Rib instead. The manager personally delivered the Prime Rib with an attitude. He was only concerned that I was not going to send the steak back and never apologized for the salt mine in the shrimp and grits.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Saffire. The oysters were ice cold and fresh, and our entrees were fantastic. You must try the Fish and Grits. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and always there when we needed him. This is truly a neighborhood gem. It's a little off the beaten path, but because of that it escapes the traffic and madness of the nearby Cool Springs area.

This was my first visit to Saffire. I'll be back. The atmosphere and the staff were warm and inviting. The food was great...tastes were on point and servings were (almost too) generous. We started with the cheese tray which featured HUGE chunks of several delicious varieties. Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked, juicy, and substantial. The best part of the meal, however was the bread pudding..warm, sweet, and tasty...and very well balanced with a citrus finish.

Saffire is hidden in the back of an old factory, with several stores in the front of the building. We weren't sure at first that we were in the right place. We had a fantastic dinner. Looking at the menu online, we decided to go to Saffire because of the lobster empanadas appetizer. It was excellent! For the main course I had the Fresh Market Plate and added salmon. It was EXACTLY what I hoped it would be. My husband had the Chicken Fried Chicken, and enjoyed it. The White Chocolate Orange Bread Pudding for dessert was also very good. My drink (Saffire Martini) was fine, my husband's red wine sangria was not sweet at all so he was disappointed. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive.

I took friends visiting from Virginia for a culinary treat - which they got. We all loved our entrees - shrimp and grits and peach-glazed pork chop. Kudos to both serving and kitchen staff - everything was perfect. They even were able to accommodate my sensitivity to bell peppers - but a craving for shrimp and grits - by switching the sauce with that of the "blackened fish and grits" which does not contain my "evil vegetable". It was delicious and the plates were totally cleaned! We could not resist their chess and pecan pies - both top marks, also for a tender, flaky crust. Only minus point: It gets very loud on a Friday night and conversation is at shouting level. Also the light is very low in some places for reading the menu.

The only positive thing about the restaurant is that it had a unique ambiance. Otherwise, my steak was over cooked and over priced. $36 for a filet that could have easily been bought for $20 at Outback Steakhouse. I'm not sure that it was seasoned at all though the sauce was good. The asparagus was barely cooked and very crunchy, though some prefer it that way, I do not. Dessert was a mini pecan pie which was no better than what I buy at the grocery store. This was our 17th wedding anniversary and we were visiting Franklin from out of town. It was recommended by two family members. I will not be back and I will not recommend it.

I took my girlfriend to Saffire, for her birthday, this past Wednesday. Neither of us had been before. I just really wanted to take her somewhere nice. Wow! We were both amazed. We started with the 'Devil of an Egg.' Best deviled eggs we've ever had. She had the chicken-fried-chicken, macaroni, and green bean/shallot. I had the peach-glazed pork chop, mashed potatoes, and turnip greens. Both meals were top notch. We couldn't ask for more. From the service, to the excellent ways in which our meals were prepared. Usually we put salt and pepper on everything. No need here, as the food is rightly seasoned. We will both DEFFINITELY be back.

The atmosphere is rustic and casual, but the dining is gourmet. The menu has excellent choices and the dishes we chose were nicely prepared and tasty. The noise level was a bit loud as the restaurant was pretty full, but the live music likely contributed to that. The live music was very good. The waiter we had was a bit slow, but he was knowledgeable of the food and drinks they have. Overall, we had a great experience.

Waitress was rude and brought wine in a dusty wine glass. She was not happy to be there. Not sure why she came to work that day. My husband and I were so excited to go on our lunch date. Our daughter's grandmother was watching her for a couple of hours. We were so dissappointed in the service. The food may have been good, but, we couldn't enjoy it because she was so rude. I had to flag her down at least 3 times for service. She obviously did not like being there or she did not like waiting on us. Not sure why... we were happy to be on our lunch date and tried to be conversational. I realized she was just an unhappy person.

Cocktails were fantastic although a bit overpriced. Food was incredible - The southern fried chicken and mac & cheese were top notch, with generous portions. The bang bang shrimp appetizer was also very good. Definitely recommend for a date night. It's a little loud for larger groups to have conversations though.

I love Saffire. My mom, sister, and I had lunch there while shopping at The Factory. The service was exceptional. Please have the burger, because it'll be one of the best you've ever eaten, but you'll love all the other fresh and healthy choices on the menu, too. The crowd was very diverse, from couples to construction workers, and the noise level was just right (didn't have to yell to be heard, nor did we have to whisper). Saffire is definitely one of my new favorites.

This restaurant was terrible. I've been to this restaurant several times since they opened several years ago and they have consistently gotten worse. The service was great, but the food was awful. The $38 filet of beef I ordered was tough and didn't even look like a filet. I suspect it was sirloin. My mom had the prime rib and was extremely disappointed. For the same amount of money, I recommend going to The Southern in downtown Nashville which is owned by the same person as Saffire. It's quite surprising that both restaurants are owned by the same person and one is so much worse than the other.
