A word from Saffire
Nestled within The Factory at Franklin, the chefs at Saffire begin stoking the coals early in the day, well before any guests ever arrive. These Tennessee Hickory coals radiate from within the hand-built smoker and cast iron grill of Saffire's exposed kitchen.

Locally grown produce and indigenous flavors combine with exotic ingredients, deliciously tender meats and a phenomenal array of wines and libations to create a menu that is uniquely Saffire. A welcoming staff further distinguishes your experience at Saffire from anywhere else around.

Locally and nationally acclaimed, Saffire is a neighborhood restaurant with a big city feel. It's a sought-after destination for both locals and visitors who know it is well worth the trip outside of Nashville to experience everything that only Saffire can provide. Wonderfully creative cuisine and spectacular wine, welcoming surroundings and attentive service; this is Saffire.

  • "We were a party of four. Nice location, very accommodating staff. The food we enjoyed was great and we ordered one of each desserts. They were all wonderful."

  • "We chose Saffire to treat out of town family to dinner for 2 reasons: Great food, and outdoor dining. Sadly, we discovered upon our arrival that patio dining is no longer available. The inside of the restaurant was VERY noisy, but the service and food were perfect."

  • "A very unique space, as it was once part of a factory you have exposed brick air conditioning pipes all really give it a factory feel, the staff works well together and is very knowledgeable of the menu and the product's and ingredients that go into the dishes"

  • "This is a great place to take out of town guest. Its funky decor and local southern favorite foods make it fun. I especially like their grits. Really creamy and full of flavor. Top that with fish or shrimp and they throw in some collards for texture and its pure heaven. The sweet sauce on top was good but I got tired of it before I finished my dish. Still I'd recommend it. The service was great, the kitchen pushed our food out while its piping hot and all at once. My guest enjoy it and strolling around the historic Factory,"

  • "We have dined at Saffire several times since moving to the area. One of the reasons for selecting them has been the onion rings. They have taken the onion rings off the menu, the waitress said we were among at least five other customers to mention the onion rings so I hope Saffire will reconsider and put them back on the menu."

  • "The food was good, but a bit 'pricey' for what you got. This is my second time there, and the menu had changed from my first visit. I thought the previous menu was better. The prices weren't as high, and the choices were more to my taste."

  • "Fried Avacado Appetizer is Great. Planko Fried Chicken with the mac and cheese pasta over spicy turnip greens was fantastic!"

  • "Saffire and Amerigo are the two consistently best restaurants in Williamson County."

  • "We both got pork chops which had entirely to much fat. I realize it is hard to get good meat but both pork chops had entirely to much fat. The taste was good but to much fat, I personally will not get the pork chops again. For the money you pay one would expect to get a good pork chop with the fat cut away. The biscuts were okay we both ate one bite I would like about offering another choice."

  • "I met a dear friend who I had not seen in several years for dinner here on a Friday night. The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. This was my second visit and her first. She was impressed and said she would love to come back again. I have always been a fan and definitely will be back. The Shrimp and Grits was spicy and fantastic!"

  • "The brunch menu was good with a lot of choices. We enjoyed every item we ordered with the exception of the cuban pork sandwich. It had a little too much bread with too little meat. Otherwise, all the other dishes were excellent. The waiter was knowledgeable & made good recommendations. The chicken fried chicken over pasta was delicious!! We will return for sure!!"

  • "first time here and we have been in Franklin for 3 years because we thought it was way too fancy and only for special occasions. It was a very pleasant suprise the food was real not too upscale, prices great, phenomenal chef and great service. Highly recommend the brunch and the bloody mary bar!"

  • "I brought my niece and her family from Wisconsin there because my son used to work there and he takes me there occasionally and I always loved it. I was a little nervous because sometimes when you build a place up as being awesome you get let down. This was not the case. They loved it and thanked me for bringing them. I will be back soon with more relatives who will be visiting from out of town. Everything we had was wonderful and the service was great."

  • "I had been to Saffire for lunch, but wanted to take my wife for dinner. We started with the fried avocado, mostly because it sounded interesting. It was very lightly battered and topped with a nice shrimp salsa. Very good! She tried the corn and green tomato chowder and it was good as well. For entrees, we chose the legendary chicken fried chicken and shrimp and grits. Both were excellent. We don't normally choose so many fried items, but these were nice and not greasy at all. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was very busy (usually a good sign). I think Saffire has more charm than our waiter could share. Like the antique bar which is just beautiful and must have a lot of history. Saffire is a nice lunch or dinner venue."

  • "This place is always excellent *when* the indoor live music isn't playing (it wasn't this evening)(the music has been, in the past, so loud conversation was not possible). The cheese plate appetizer is overwhelmingly good, highly recommended. The service is attentive and knowledgeable always."

  • "We haven't been to Saffire in a couple of years until last Saturday. The food and service were excellent. I don't know why they dropped off my list of Franklin restaurants to visit but they are definitely back on. Being from the deep south I couldn't resist the shrimp and grits. Excellent!"

  • "Our waiter was Rick. He was very helpful in picking out a wine to have, good advise on food selections, my first time, I will be back, and have told friends about you already!!"

  • "My wife and I enjoyed dinner at Saffire, although we found it very noisy. It is not the place to go for a quiet, romantic conversation. The food, however, was excellent and the service was outstanding, depsite the fact that the restaurant was very busy at the time we dined. We both had grouper, which was the speical for the evening, and it was perfectly cooked and deliecious. If you want a vibrant hot spot with excellent food and sevice, Saffire is the place."

  • "Our waiter could not have been more attentive to every detail. The food (I had salmon) was seasoned a bit salty but the presentation was beautiful. A piano player was drowned out by the noise level but still was a thoughtful touch. "

  • "this is one of my favorite restaurants in town. consistently good food, nice service, great place to take out of towners wanting high end and local."

  • "Saffire is one of our go-to favorite dining spots. The service is great both at the bar and in the dining room. The food is consistently excellent...but recently there has been a menu change which no longer offers their excellent catfish and onion rings. We were very disappointed. But this won't influence our return. We just wish that they would reconsider and add these items to the menu once again. That said, my fish 'n grits were the best I've had there. And the breads are wonderful! We also love to go for cocktails. The bar staff is friendly and knowledgeable and we enjoy eating one of their excellent burgers at the bar once in a while. We highly recommend Saffire...just don't expect to enjoy the catfish!"

  • "Mother's Day brunch. We had 12:15 reservations and were seated promptly. They were already out of one of their side dishes which was disappointing. Service was incredibly slow but our waiter was quick to help when we were able to flag him down. The food was mediocre which was surprising as typically we are very pleased. Prices are reasonable for what you get. We hope things improve the next time we dine here."

  • "We took a group of four (wife, mother and father in law) for brunch on Mothers Day. Made the reservation a couple of weeks in advance and were immediately seated. The food was good (I had the shrimp and grits) and the service was very good. I would recommend Saffire to anyone wanting a good restaurant with good food and service. We will definitely put saffires on our restaurant rotation list. "

  • "This is a great place to eat. My wife and I have been here several times. Also, my teenage children have been with us a few times. The fried avocado, bang-bang shrimp, and biscuits are wonderful as appetizers. Also, several of us have gotten the fish and grits (more than once) and it has been fantastic every time! I highly recommend Saffire!!"

  • "Excellent musical entertainment, well-prepared victuals from an inventive kitchen. Service was friendly, but disjointed - seemingly unorganized or understaffed. They tried hard, but it was clear that jobs were being shared with folks who may not have been trained to do them. For instance, the staffer who delivered the appetizers tried to force them onto the table without moving centerpiece, glasses or plates and nearly caused a mess. The diners should not have to lend an emergnecy hand in such as situation."

  • "After 3 so-so experiences, I was hesitant to go back. Glad I did! We booked an opentable reservation and used our OpenTable $$$ for this meal. It worked great! We had the Avocado appetizer. That is a must have! For dinner, I had the catch of the day on a beautiful bed of kale, tomatoes & jalapeño cheese grits. Overall, a delicious meal and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be back!!"

  • "Saffire is one of the few restaurants in Franklin that consistently delivers an exceptional casual dining experience. It has become our go to choice when entertaining family and out of town guests as we know the service will be great and the food outstanding. "

  • "Toyota of Cool Springs .. Everything was great and very helpful. Food was AMAZING Only thing maybe get matching chairs lol joke.. wE LIKED that it was different it kinda gave people something to talk about. My wife also like it bc she had the tall chair and i had the short one so she made sure to rub it in that she was taller that night. The Chef personally came out to say hello and ask how we enjoyed our dinner. You can't ask for better service than that. Keep up the good work "

  • "Saffire was a very pleasant surprise. A friend recommended we try this restaurant while we were in town. The appetizers were great as were the variety of entrees that we tried, from Chicken Fried Chicken to Prime Rib to Shrimp Creole, it was all very good. I'd definitely go back."

  • "Mt boyfriend and I went here for our anniversay. Food and service were excellent. My only complaint was concerning the hostesses who were unfriendly and difficult. I have worked as both a server and a host and I feel the hostesses could have been much more accommodating and friendly. Other than that it was a lovely experience. "

  • "When I made my reservation, I wrote this was my 10 yr anniversary dinner and to make it special. I also called a week ahead to confirm the significance of the date, and reserve their best table. No problem, I was told. When we arrived, we were asked to wait at the bar. Not an issue, they seemed very busy. We ordered wine and waited. When the hostess finally approached us, she said they had accidentally given our table away but she had a table in the front corner. We reluctantly agreed. It was very cramped, squeezed into the corner. I went back to her and asked to be moved. She said the only table that was available was right beside the kitchen and we would have to finish eating in 45 minutes to make room for reserved guests. Outrageous! "
