  • "This is truly a gem. The ambience of the whole antique building is very charming, and the restaurant is in the same genre. Unbeknownst to us, is was restaurant week (my flying parter & I are from Los Angeles). First, kudos to our waiter Brad, who was as professional as we have seen. We both ordered the same dishes (Ribbon Salad & Shrimp & Grits) and were beyond impressed. The 2 different rolls were both good, but the buttermilk roll with chives was exceptional! Can't wait to go back and bring my family."

  • "Saffire is a local place that always surprises and pleases. This was our first-time Sunday Brunch. The main room is bright and engaging, service was outstanding, loved the hint of barbeque smoke in the air. My companion and I both had an old-time favorite, Eggs Benedict, which Saffire offers with different twists. We had the version featuring a buttermilk biscuit, applewood bacon, white gravy and cheesy grits on the side - delicious! Coupled with a glass of the house Chardonnay, it was an outstanding meal at a moderate price."

  • "We have dined at Saffire many times since they opened and have rarely had a complaint. The food is always delicious. This last visit was exceptional! Their fish (corvina) & grits, hickory smoked filet & avocado, bacon cheeseburger were SO good! And their French fries? Crispy & hot. Perfection. Service was great! The only complaint we had was that it was very loud. The music was great, but we had trouble hearing our server & ourselves. We can understand it if it was later in the evening, but we were there at 6:15... We will definitely be back."

  • "Visited Saffire for lunch for the first time this week and it was much more than I expected. The deviled eggs were divine. I think I could have eaten the whole order by myself! My entrée was the chicken fried chicken with country ham gravy over mac and cheese. It was wonderful. I am not always fond of gravy but this was very tasty! The buttermilk pie was a great ending!"

  • "We booked this based on the reviews found online. Wasn't quite sure what to expect when it came to the restaurant itself. It's in an old converted factory... which isn't all that converted! It has the old original windows and pipes everywhere. It was certainly unique! I can't say i like the vintage look when it comes to a restaurant, but the food was outstanding! Three of us had an appetizer, mains and shared a dessert. Really nice traditional southern food, very well cooked. The waiter was great, too. It was very busy (but it was a Saturday night) and quite noisy, lots of people at the bar, etc. I'd definitely come again for the food, wish the surroundings were a bit more pleasant, though. And it was pricey but worth the cost, I think."

We hadn't had a "date night" in ages so this was a good way to start. This isn't a cheap place and you can spend some money without trying too hard but it's worth it. We aren't big eaters and my wife had a single glass of wine and we dropped $85. No complaints."

Top that with fish or shrimp and they throw in some collards for texture and its pure heaven. The sweet sauce on top was good but I got tired of it before I finished my dish. Still I'd recommend it. The service was great, the kitchen pushed our food out while its piping hot and all at once. My guest enjoy it and strolling around the historic Factory,"

  • "We both got pork chops which had entirely to much fat. I realize it is hard to get good meat but both pork chops had entirely to much fat. The taste was good but to much fat, I personally will not get the pork chops again. For the money you pay one would expect to get a good pork chop with the fat cut away. The biscuts were okay we both ate one bite I would like about offering another choice."

I was a little nervous because sometimes when you build a place up as being awesome you get let down. This was not the case. They loved it and thanked me for bringing them.   • "I had been to Saffire for lunch, but wanted to take my wife for dinner. We started with the fried avocado, mostly because it sounded interesting. It was very lightly battered and topped with a nice shrimp salsa. Very good! She tried the corn and green tomato chowder and it was good as well. For entrees, we chose the legendary chicken fried chicken and shrimp and grits. Both were excellent. We don't normally choose so many fried items, but these were nice and not greasy at all. The atmosphere was nice and the restaurant was very busy (usually a good sign). I think Saffire has more charm than our waiter could share. Like the antique bar which is just beautiful and must have a lot of history. Saffire is a nice lunch or dinner venue."
