Diner Reviews
  • "Great bar scene in a high energy setting. Plenty to do between watching sports or riding the mechanical bull."

  • "Our table was not ready when we arrived. It took over 45 minutes to get our food and 2 meals didn't come until 20 after that. The mashed potatoes were ice cold. We ordered dessert and it took 30 minutes for cotton candy and smores (items that are not even baked). We had to get up and get our own water refills, and was never asked if we wanted another cocktail. It was a long, painful experience."

  • "I was very disappointed that a smoker stood near our table blowing smoke our way. I had several friends come who had never been to SR and I doubt they will come back even though they loved the food. This is the 1st time I had seen anyone smoke at SR and am sorry to say that was a HUGH set back for me as well."

  • "I went here based on the reviews of others. Place is cowboy themed and looked fun. I was eating alone as I was traveling in LA on business. I was seated on a outdoor couch with a coffee table. Waiter arrived promptly and took my drink order. That was the last time any waiter helped me the rest of the meal. The drink never arrived. One of the managers wound up taking my order and non-waiter delivered food. Both the original waiter and a different waiter checked in but did nothing. A waiter did manage to provide me my check before I was done eating. Obvious to me they wanted me out of there. He never did take my payment - had to go to the hostess to pay my bill. Maybe a bigger party will have better service. Everyone else looked happy."

  • "There is bread and butter served upon ordering but we added chips and guacamole which were pretty good but could have been a little more generous on the salsa. The $15 specialty drinks are large and strong but taste like a cheap party drink. Our waiter was extremely slow at refilling water, getting our food, bill and change...and at one point he even brought someone else's dirty dishes over to pick up ours. I mentioned that I was gluten free when ordering so it was a bit disappointing when for our birthday he brought out a big chocolate chip cookie as our treat rather than the typical cotton candy. The crowed was a mix of all ages."

  • "The food was good but had to wait quite awhile for the food."

  • "The food was good, we were seated right away. The problem was the service. They were really slow to get to the table. The food took over an hour to get. I had planned on an hour and a half time before the movie we were going to see. We almost did not make it. Desert took forever, the check took forever. We were there 2 hours for lunch."

  • "The best after-work hot spot around! Worth a try just to see the gorgeous display of female pulchritude! Whew! Hard not to notice the ladies. Food is 100% FUN! How long since you ate cotton candy and onion rings on the same night? Not a gourmet hangout, but casual dining and lots of young adult singles."

  • "Sure, it can be loud, but one look at the front of this place and you know you should be expecting a rowdy time. The service was above average. The nachos were huge. The entree servings were big. Everyone loved the food. (I recommend the pork chop.) Wendy the manager is a character and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time. If you bring the kids you probably want to avoid the weekend evenings as the bar crowd gets rolling. The Saddle Ranch can't be all things to all people, but it is a great, rowdy, fun time for the young at heart."

  • "Very enjoyable experience. Nachos were great and there were lots. Had sandwiches (French dip, sloppy joe, and turkey wrap) all were very good and large. Sweet potato fries and regular fries were excellent. A Tuesday night so not a very wild scene, but there were many family groups of 7 to 12 people seemingly having a great time. Good beer selections and a very broad menu selection. Not JUST a chop house. Lots of things for kids cotton candy you won't believe, make your own samores."

  • "Food almost never comes. Server is clueless and when you tell her that your item didn't come, she asks,"It's not here?" Oh, and that $15 corkage fee includes her dropping the corkscrew on the table so that you can open your own bottle. Yes, all that service for $15. No, we will NEVER go back."

  • "I thought it would be jammed packed and crowded but it wasn't. Great food, drinks, and waiters and waitresses are amazing! S' mores are the best thing for the kids while the bull is fun to ride and great to watch for everyone. My whole family loved it and my dad was beyond happy."

  • "You are in for a rowdy experience, it's loud, energetic, you have to yell to talk to anyone at your table. The wait staff is nice and try hard, but never are around when you need them. We came for a birthday, they were very informed about it and never got our complimentary dessert! The bull riding is fun to watch, they have lots of tables around it for extra entertainment. The Cotton Candy drink is so unique, awesome and fun. The food is really salty, the drinks are hit or miss, either too much alcohol or not enough."

  • "The mac n cheese......WAS DELICIOUS!!!! The crust on top...yummy! We had a variety of foods and drinks and everyone was very pleased. The bull riding was hilarious, played pool, cotton candy....just a great, really fun place!"

  • "First time going to Saddle Ranch and we really enjoyed it. The food was good lots to choose from, the atmosphere was nice, and the place had a great outdoor seating area for those sunny California days! The only issue is they sat 5 of us at a booth and their plates are so big we did not have enough elbow room so ask for a table. You must try the cotton candy, it is the best! We had a lot of fun we will be back!"

  • "Having never been to Saddle Ranch, I wasn't sure what to expect and I was just hoping to give my sister, the bride-to-be, a good time. The staff was extremely nice and made the entire group feel welcome. Everyone appreciated the attention to details and all the staff make the party energetic and fun. I was shocked that all the girls were so excited to ride the bull and everyone had a great time. I would definitely recommend Saddle Ranch for any group occasions. Thank you all!"

  • "I really wish i could say at least one positive thing about our experience at Saddle Ranch, but i can't :-( First off, they weren't ready for our reservation (yet the restaurant was empty) and tried squishing 14 of us at tables that should fit no more than 10. Then it took an entire hour before they took our food order. … And the place was empty!Once we got our food and they still completely forgot two of our party's meals. they never refilled the bottomless mimosas …And to top off the entire experience, the food was horrible. I ordered the Cobb salad and all i could taste was pepper … our table shared a nacho and all we could taste was an overwhelming amount of salt."

  • "We were there for a business birthday lunch. It took over an hour to get our food. It appeared they were fully staffed, but many of the staff was just wandering around looking like they did not know what to do. By the time it was all said and done, we were there for over 2 hours and only had a meal, no appetizer nor dessert."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "We were seated quickly. Waitress was pleasant, took our drink order but it took forever to receive them. Ordered a couple of appetizers and again took forever to receive them and they forgot one of the appetizers. We told our waitress and we still never got our second appetizer, it was almost like she forgot about us. The same thing with our dinner, we waited about 30 minutes and again she forgot part of our order. We were there to celebrate my husbands birthday and was very disappointed with the service and the lack of attention we received. They were not very busy so we will not go back to that location, but am willing to give you a second chance so we will be trying your new location in Orange when it opens."

  • "As usual, the food and service at Saddle Ranch were second to none. We celebrated my daughter's 24th birthday and she was treated to a candle on her cotton candy tower and a complimentary tray of s'more fixings. We will continue to visit Saddle Ranch and recommend it highly to our friends."

  • "Great time at saddle ranch! First time here with my cousins and we had a large table. The service was amazing! Our waiter was fun and attentive and heard it was our first time and introduced us to management who brought out a round of shots for everybody for free! The food came out quickly and tasted delicious! Such large portions for a great price! Ambience was definitely fun. I will bring back all my friends for another great time soon!"

  • "Nicely crafted happy hour -- generous outdoor seating on a wide-spanning patio area, plenty of heat lamps, some couches. Drinks and appetizers are straightforward -- 50% off across the board -- rather than "well, this is happy hour and this is not," which is what one gets at a lot of other places. Came with a large group and well all agreed it was ideal. We made our orders, got a tower of beer, and happily enjoyed ourselves without much interruption."

  • "I have been here several times prior to my most recent visit, because I know one of the bartenders. On ValeValentine's Day, I was scrambling around looking for a place that wasn't already fully booked. Then I randomly thought I would try Saddle Ranch, even though I never thought of it as the most romantic place to take someone on a date. Turned out to be the best decision ever. We had a blast, were seated immediately, and I couldn't think of a better place to spend the special day."

  • "We went there to celebrate Valentine's Day as well as our anniversary when we first arrived we were told that there were no booths available even though I requested one hours in advance, when we were seated we did not get greeted by a waitress for over 10 minutes when the food came it was awful the manager apologized and offered to give us some drinks on the house even when that happened we got a new server who was just just as bad!! I will NEVER go here again. I've gotten better service at mcdonalds!!"

  • "The steaks were excellent, and the options plentiful. The drinks were okay, not too strong, however, overpriced. Happy hour saves half off of the large drinks, typically $15, which does make it worth it. The service was excellent! Will definitely return."

  • "I was not happy when we got there, I made reservations online and wanted to sit inside because it was cold. The hostess informed me that my party would be seated outside because it's full inside. She said that I needed to specify inside when I made the reservations but there was no indication on form to do so. In addition, the hostess also told me that they don't take online reservations over the weekend but I was able to place it online? In the end, I had no choice because we were there to celebrate my sister's birthday. We ended up sitting outside where people were smoking. We had four kids ranging from 9-13 years of age, not appropriate for them."

  • "I t had everything I don't care for - but my "date" wanted to go there. She is a meat and potato person. Over all it's for people who like 'heavy' food."

  • "We made the mistake of ordering a salmon dish and a rib dish. It took 60 minutes to receive our food after walking in the door. The fish tasted like cardboard (menu said fresh Atlantic) and the ribs were average at best. Sweet potato fries were very good. It was Christmas day and they were way understaffed, so this is a management problem. My previous visit to a Saddle Ranch (on Sunset) was even more abysmal. I won't be giving them another chance."

  • "Happy hour prices are great! I come for birthdays usually and every time it come they give us something fun to celebrate however this time they didn't do anything. I guess it depends on what the waitress feels like, but that's my only complaint!"

  • "My server Chris was a gem ! Great service ! I spent a bit of money for the food so I just wish it would have been hot . My rolls were COLD my veggies were to and so were my boyfriends . Also rice was cold. The meat was good and warm I'm not one to send back food it just a fear . I will come again and give another chance cause I liked the one in uneversal studios . If I could have had the guts to aske for my food to be hotter I would have but maybe next time it will be better."
