Saddle Peak Lodge, where rustic ambiance meets a sophisticated palate.

The former hunting lodge maintains a warm and rustic décor, featuring two fireplaces, outdoor dining, and views from the second- and third-floor rooms.

Chef Christopher Kufek prepares contemporary American comfort food with an emphasis on hearty wild game, fish, & seasonal ingredients, and welcomes you to try the 7 course Chef's Tasting menu, with optional hand-selected wine pairings.

To complement the food, the wine list includes American boutique wines difficult to find on many other lists. Our bartenders prepare classic and old-fashioned cocktails as well as modern versions of the classics. We invite you to come to our wine and scotch dinners and beer luncheons, which have received rave reviews.

  • "From the friendly valet to hostess, to the bar staff, waitress and the bus man, it was a wonderful evening. All went out of their way to be helpful and accommedation. We had steak, sea bass and rack of lamb. All were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The eggplant with the lamb melted in my mouth. We were celebrating a birthday. From the cards, the staff picked up on the BG's name. As dessert, they brought homemade vanilla ice cream on a plate decorated with chocolate inscribed with her name. The Trio of Sorbets (homemade with peaches) was served on a 3 in. wedge of ice. The banana beignets were served with a salted carmel sauce. All were excellent. It was a wonderful evening which we will do again--well worth the long trip!"

  • "You can't beat the cozy lodge charm, beautiful garden patio, and service of the Lodge. I never thought the food could fail, but at my 6th brunch at this neighborhood gem, the food disappointed for the first time. The menu has not changed in over 2 years and the waiters still refer to "today's special" of the same three selection of trio sausages: pheasant, boar, duck. It ought to consider introducing true specials that change throughout the seasons. Still, somehow the dishes aren't as clean as previously served. The once great breakfast pizza with a perfectly egg timed baked into the crust was, instead, presented with a sad alternative of a fried egg that sat on top of the crust - a rather lame shortcut. Food quality doesn't meet its prime."

  • "Took my girlfriend to the Saddlepeak lodge for our anniversary. My girlfriend is a big time foodie, and she loved it. She had the big game trio and particularly enjoyed the Elk, and The Biegnets for dessert. My flatiron steak was also very tender and tasty. In addition, the Saddlepeak Lodge has a very good wine list and choice of burbons as well. There is no mistaking that the Saddlepeak lodge is fairly pricey. However, the ambience and the food make it worth it."

  • "Rustic but romantic. Fine service and delicious food cooked to your specifications. From fish to game, fresh salads, great oysters, sweet treats and good wines. Always enjoyable. If it was noisy that evening, it was our table of eight enjoying ourselves very much."

  • "It was a special occasion for my boyfriend's birthday. He loved the ambiance of the place. It's certainly a very unique place. We had the trio meat and it was amazing. • "Beautiful restaurant! Sat outside right by the waterfall. Nice and quiet under the tree of lights with the music playing in the background. It's nice that the band it set back aways minimizing the noise level so you could hear each other speak. Pretzel bread was Amazing.... Followed by potato soup then the lamb! A+ in my book."

  • "We went on a recommendation for our 10th anniversary and were blown away. The ambiance was perfect, the service was perfect and the food was outstanding. My wife and I loved it. They even wrote Happy Anniversary on the desert dish. I will surely recommend it to everyone looking for that special place for dinner. It also seems like a great venue for an event. We will be back."

  • "Our son and daughter-in-law gave us a gift certificate to Saddle Peak Lodge. The ambience was wonderful and the food was delicious. Receiving a gift certificate from OpenTable.com was very enjoyable. I would highly recommend both Saddle Peak Lodge and opentable.com when planning a dinner or giving a gift certificate."

  • "Great atmosphere and setting, there are not too many restaurants that rival Saddle Peak in this category. Unfortunately the food does not come close to a match. We have visited SP many times over the years and what once was a true dinning expierience, is gone. The food was very bland, they were out of a "main" dish and we were one of the first seatings. The service is average which would be considered below par for a restaurant of it's reputation. Not the days of Alice."

  • "I was completely amazed. I ordered the trio meat dish- all game. I ate meat I had never eaten before- and I liked it!"

  • "After reading about the lodge for many years, finally made the trek. Absolutely worth it. We ate outdoors which was perfect! Food and service excellent...not pretentious and the food great! Fresh, beautifully seasoned and well presented. Sorbets were divine! Interior is way, way too dark! Very fun for a special occasion!"

  • "Being a Vegetarian, the Elks, Moose, Deer heads on the wall were moderately disturbing, but I also recognize that we are omnivores. I do eat fish, and had a really wonderful trout, caesar salad and endive salad. The martinis were immaculate and the less expensive port was to our liking. The meal was quite expensive, but not surprisingly so. The wait staff filled our waters many times without our asking. Great experience for an anniversary dinner. We were treated to drinks by a cousin who phone it in from Washington DC. Quite the surprise. Turning the tables on her, we will treat her to an entire dinner at Saddle Peak next time she's in town. The sorbet at the end was some of the best I've ever tasted."

  • "We have been to Saddle Peak in the past. The food on our recent visit was average. The rack of lamb was not newsworthy; it also did not come out as ordered. The caesars salad was weak/the parmesan cheese placed on the top did not come close to an aged cheese. The Seabase was prepared ok, but the dish was also not newsworthy. The scallop appetizer was over cooked. If it had not been for the service, the night would not have been momorable at all."

  • "Our servers knowledge of the menu and wine pairings were excellent. Our corner table by the patio was very romantic. Champagne bottle service was provided and flowed perfectly throughout the dinner. The chefs signature dish...elk us a must. What a memorable evening. Thank you to all the staff and the chef for helping us celebrate our love with the 5 Stars it warranted."

  • "We've been coming to Saddle Peak for over 20 years. The last time we came the food was just OK, after all these years a little disappointing. As for this visit, everything was superb. I had the combo with venison, buffalo and elk. Michelin level preparation, presentation and service. We had a wonderful, cozy, intimate corner table upstairs. The bread pudding for desert was to die for. Saddle Peak remains unique in its rustic hunting lodge ambiance, unique menu, wonderful cozy bar by the fireplace and a killer wine list to boot."

  • "After some time of absence because of not really satisfying experience we tried Saddle Peak again to take a fried there, as we like the ambiance of the restaurant. It was worth it. The food was outstanding in taste and presentation, the wine was good, the service efficient. The only thing was the lady bartender, where we ordered Kir Royale and she served it with raspberry rather than Cassis. It's OK for summer as it is a little lighter, but she should have told us that she had no Creme de Cassis which I really prefer for its distinctive taste."

  • "This is a great restaurant, albeit a little pricey, but worth the investment. I always take out of town guests to SaddlePeak and they give it rave reviews as well. The service is impeccable! I have never had a bad meal there and they go out of their way to take care of you. A great find! Took three people who had never been there before and they raved about it - took pictures of their food, posted to their FB pages, raved about the atmosphere and the service. I highly recommend it!!"

  • "This place has seen better days. The ambiance was dated, the food was in edible (my lamb was so tough that I couldn't cut through it with a steak knife) and all of the food was doused in salt. Coupled with slow service (our dinner took 3 hours from start to finish ) and high prices, I'll never go back again. It's too bad- this used to be a solid choice a few years ago."

  • "We went for a Fathers Day dinner. We had a 6pm reservation for a table outside on the patio. Firstly, the patio is lovely--quiet, surrounded by trees, water feature by our table, fairy lights in the foliage. Secondly, our waiter was knowledgeable and patient as we engaged him in discussions of wines of the world. Thirdly, the food was delicious. We had the elk, the skirt steak and the lamb rack. Our favorite of the three was the steak. We ended the meal with a special Fathers Day dessert complete with Happy Fathers Day spelled out in chocolate on the plate. We all agreed that this was, indeed, a special evening. Nice ambiance, excellent food, and good service."

  • "On the patio we had glasses of the Scharffenberger Brut Rose which was light and refreshing for a summer evening. Better yet it was ½ price at Happy Hour. We ordered an appetizer of the Ahi Tuna Sashimi but was served a white fish. We were told it was the fresh fish that day for sashimi. At least it was very good. We moved inside for our dinner and started with the Seared hand-harvested Scallops and Caesar salad. Our entrees were the New Zealand Elk Tenderloin and the Wild Game Trio. The elk was so tender and flavorful. Everything was delicious and perfect. The service was great and our server made sure my food was Gluten Free. They served me vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup for my birthday~wonderful ending to a superb dinner."

  • "There is nothing like this restaurant in So Cal. It looks like a n old hunting lodge. Like stepping back in time. However, the food is up to date with wild game dishes. If you do not like that, you can also get the yummy regular fare. If you would like to try something different, this is the place. All the food is delicious."

  • "This is the spot to try unique foods. I had the elk and my wife had the trio of elk, venison and quail. All were outstanding. The elk is the house special and I highly recommend. I really like the fact that they have 1/2 bottles of wine as that is typically enough for a dinner for 2. We started with the pear, blue cheese, apple and watercress salad and finished with the huckleberry bread pudding and pear beignets. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere, with the big game animals on the wall is always unique and fascinating. We go for special occasions and have never been disappointed."

  • "Hunting lodge chic with a short but well curated menu that is best suited to carnivores. The tasty game sampler consisted of elk, venison and buffalo. Who knew buffalo short ribs could be so tender. The Niman Ranch pork chop was juicy and flavorful and its generous portion provided lunch the next day. The starters were the right size and delicious, an endive salad with roasted apples, blue cheese, candied pecans with vinaigrette for my husband and seared scallops with grapefruit and papaya salsa for me. We were too stuffed to even look at the dessert menu. The service efficient without being intrusive. A great special occasion destination!"

  • "Loving Game and especially Venison, I've been dying to take my Philadelphian sister to Saddle Peak Lodge for years. Determined to get there on her recent visit, we booked for a Sat nite. SOOOOO Glad I did!!! we had an amazing evening! Well traveled, she and her husband felt it was one of the top meals of their lives. What a beautiful evening, absolutely delicious and the ambience is divine (don't take a vegan, they will not appreciate the heads on the walls!). Every room is full of it's own charm and warmth and the patio is to die for! The Venison, Elk, Sea Bass were perfection! Our waiter and staff were delightful and recommendations were spot on! Great praise for a perfectly lovely evening shared with my family! We will return!"
