Diner Reviews
  • "That red sauce in Little Italy was enough to convince me that this place was the real deal. The service was okay, and the place itself needs some updating , but I wasn't planning on eating the carpet or chairs. If you go have something w/ red sauce. I didn't like their take on gnocchi (baked ricotta lumps w/o potatoe?), but the lasagna was really good. Really good! I'd go again."

  • "Overall this restaurant is ok. It's been around a long time, but like a lot of Little Italy it's become stale. If you want to go back in time, this is the place to go."

  • "The food was amazing. It was the best birthday dinner."

  • "very disapointing, the chicken parm had a decidedly microwave reheated taste and texture. The Vodka sauce was not like any vodka sauce we had every encountered. Our food was served wicked fast, like so fast it makes you think, there is no way any of this was freshly made."

  • "The staff was extremely friendly and very customer-service oriented. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was less than desirable. It could use a fresher, more updated look. It looks run down. So if you can overlook the aged appearance, I would recommend their food!"

  • "InterIorn about that restaurant long long time ago. And I decide to go ther to celebrate 12 years anniversary with my wife. Food absolutely not good and overpriced, completely no option for fish. In menu sad FISH OF THE DAY. They have always Telapia broiled whith butter oil and lemon juice I didn't have any choice I took those fish. How is testing? Like ........... a little sour grass. Interior design, furniture in very very bad condition. Bathroom isn't clean and smell very bad also must have a little refreshing. Never come back, never recommended to any one. p.s. barman must have a little known how to serve any alcohol products."

  • "This restaurant was recommended to me from a friend. I dine out frequently, and having worked in the restaurant industry, I valued this person's opinion. Overall, I would say that I had a "good" experience. However, for what has been crowned a "neighborhood staple", I was not impressed. We were not told of any "special" additions to the menu, and I felt that we were just another customer. The foot was "good", as well, meaning that I would not return for either of the dishes we shared. Being in Baltimore, we have access to hundreds of restaurants that are trying to do things to impress, and capture our overall business. While we had a good experience, and enjoyed the food, it wasn't anything more than just "good"."

  • "I used to eat at Sabatinos years ago when I lived in Baltimore. I always thought food was authentic Italian. Our experience this past weekend was disappointing to say the least. The fettucini could have been egg noodles, the sauces were nothing special. Service was quick, but that is the only positive comment I can offer."

  • "Fantastic Italian food in the heart of Little Italy, this is a gem of a place. The service is excellent and the food is incredibly delicious. They were also nice enough to give us a cheesecake desert for free when they found out it was our Anniversary weekend."

  • "This was at least my fifth visit to Sabatino's, and it will not be my last! Each of our entrees was delicious, and the desserts were scrumptious. The wait staff is welcoming and professional, just attentive enough. The atmosphere was vibrant, with an almost full house, but we were still able to converse comfortably."

  • "Was greeted at the door by a host and I assume the manager or owner. They were very appreciative we were there. Something that most places take for granted. That definitely set the tone for the meal. We went before a show at the Hippodrome. I was a little worried about time, but the food came out quickly. Everything my table had was very good. Service was very good, and friendly. I will be coming back whenever I get the chance to make it downtown. Keep up the good work."

  • "We had a large group of 19 when we went to Sabatinos on a saturday night. We were celabrating my wife and twin sisters 50th birthday. Sabatinos is a family favorite with our bunch, and it did not disappoint. We were quickly seated and our servers were organized and quick with getting our drinks. Sabatinos has yet to let us down...I ordered the veal eggplant parmesan and it was fantastic. You must order the melon and prosciutto for starters...I have never had such great prosciutto..( not even in Italy) I cant rave enough about the food. We will be back soon!!!"

  • "Although the atmosphere was very good, the service was not. After we were done with appetizers, it took over 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order for dinner. She was not very pleasant..actually showed no personality at all. For as expensive the menu is, I was disappointed with the food. I had Shrimp Scampi and it had very little flavor at all. Others at my table enjoyed the salad though."

  • "Sabs had never disappointed and once again it didnt. Bookmaket right on point. Told waitress it was our first date and she split the clams casino up for us and tossed the bookmaker and put it evenly in separate bowls. Great night."

  • "The friendly host was very good at checking to see what tables were available and quickly getting patrons seated. Even though our online reservation was made minutes before we left for the restaurant and they hadn't gotten it yet, we didn't wait too long for a seat. Veal Francese (large portion) and Shrimp Renato orders with spagetti on side (thankfully) were very good and came quick enough considering it was Restaurant Week. The only negative is the $.50 charge for house salad dressing. Asked for oil and vinegar but it came with the creamy italian house dressing anyway. When the server saw I didn't finish my salad because of the dressing she offered to bring another without the dressing. I declined but was charged for dressing anyway."

  • "It had been years since I made a visit to Sabatino's. I was somewhat disappointed from my memories not living up to my last visit. The atmosphere was as quaint as I remember and the staff was as great as I remember. Unfortunately, the food was bland and did not live up to the memories of the great restaurant I remembered. For a geriatric diner looking for a meal that would be kind to their stamache , it's a winner. But , my and my wife's taste, we could have gone to Olive Garden and had a more flavorful meal."

  • "This was our first time at Sabatino's. We had received a gift certificate, and decided to use it during Baltimore Restaurant Week. Our server was excellent, and very attentive to our needs. The special included an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. Between the two of us we had the minestrone soup, the house salad, the veal francaise, tiramisu and a cannolli. The portions are large, and the quality of the food was excellent. We plan to return to Sabatino's again, and would recommend to friends. One minor problem was issues with valet parking. The parking service is shared with some neighboring restaurants, and most likely due to increased business during restaurant week the valets seemed to be overwhelmed."

  • "The food was wonderful! We went because it was Baltimore Restaurant week and we hadn't been to Sabatino's in a long time. Among the four of us, there was so much food per order that three of us eah took home part of our meal to enjoy later.Everyone, from the front door to the bus boy, was friendly, polite and helpful."

  • "had not been to Sabatino's in years. house salad dressing came in a bowl with a spoon and was so runny and flavorless i think they forgot the cheese. My friend went 2 days earlier had the opposite - a glob- maybe they didn't mix the vat well. My son's chicken parm. -passable. my husband and i got House veal-Frances-over-breaded, overcooked, and the veal was gray, not good. the sauce tasted fake - like lemon pie filling and there was no hint of white wine. only enjoyable part was the garlic bread - try the double sided. The proprietor asked how our meal was and I was honest but he did not want to hear it "my partner is in the kitchen as always" and for the dressing "cheese is organic so taste varies". Sad b-day meal and $150 gone"

  • "What always made me return was a sense of romanticism, intimacy and closeness with my spouse. Table was large, and very cluttered, making us feel a mile away from each other. Chicken alfredo very watery, and mussles bianco has changed alot over the years. Feels more thrown together compared to the first few times we were there before 2005 when it seemed more flavor filled and less fishy. Overall, just not the same it used to be. Still lit perfect and great hospitality. Thank You."
