Chef Jean‑Georges introduces his latest venture, a casually elegant restaurant ensconced in the picturesque town of Pound Ridge, New York. Here, Jean‑Georges cultivates a truly seasonal, farm-to-table cuisine, with ingredients sourced from the Hudson Valley and New England, whenever possible. Constructed in 1833 as a residence and serving later as an inn, the building has been painstakingly renovated to preserve as many of the original materials as possible, including four working fireplaces. Thomas Juul-Hansen designed the restaurant’s interior with a modern yet rustic sensibility; zinc and marble accent stone and reclaimed wood. The restaurant’s lighting, artfully conceived by Hervé Descottes, employs paper shades and Edison fixtures to create warmth throughout.

Classic Cantonese with Twist.
Kay Ch'ien and Ben Pope spent their childhoods in Hong Kong eating local foods and enjoying fresh ingredients from "wet" markets. As New York transplants they found themselves craving the meals of their youth. Although they hadn't yet met, they shared a dream - to start a place that would give New York City better options for Cantonese food. When Kay and Ben were introduced by their mutual friend Alex, the three of them clicked as a team, and 2 Duck Goose was born.
After we secured our lease, Ben spent a month testing new recipes in our kitchen. He then traveled back home to Hong Kong to perfect traditional methods of cooking. Ben grew up on three continents and his food reflects that - he brings a European twist to classic Cantonese dishes.
Together we are reinventing the dishes of Kay and Ben's Hong Kong childhood, and excited to be serving them up in Gowanus, Brooklyn.

Before his death in 1889, Handy recorded the recipe for the cocktail & the drink made its first printed appearance in William T. "Cocktail Bill" Boothby's 1908 "The World's Drinks and How to Mix Them."
Head barkeeper, William Bastian is known for experimenting w/ new distilled spirits & mixers, created a time-honored cocktail list inspired by the classics. Cocktails such as the Mint Julep, Old-Fashioned & the Sazerac w/ a modern twist and our use of bitters & seasonal succulents make an appearance on the cocktail menu.
