Entrees range from thick, juicy steaks and prime rib to the finest grilled fresh fish and live Maine lobster. Choose from the regular menu or from a superb selection of specials offered nightly. Add a cappuccino and a freshly made dessert to seal the dining experience. Whether you're starting the evening or topping it off, Ryan's offers just the right taste with just the right touch. • "Outstanding waitress and service. Food good but so is Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse and theirs included salad for way less price If price was better I would give it a 5. I actually liked Flows filet at Longhorn the best. Hubby loved his rib eye. Thanks"

  • "We were seated right away. Shortly there after prom dates by the group were popping up all over. It was our first time but the waiter didn't really ask us what brought us here etc, I wanted him to ask because we were both celebrating our birthdays. Food was excellent. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The bread choices were all delicious, even the spread. Will definitely be back! "

  • "After trying many of the recommended restaurants in town, my wife and I agree that Ryan's is by far the best. The food is consistently prepared perfectly, and they are very focused on service delivery. Great job."

  • "We really enjoyed our first trip to Ryan's. The steaks were very good, appropriately cooked, and served with very good sides. The room is great; overlooking the woods but our table was on the first tier and right near the kitchen. The wait staff kept bumping into my chair. A bit annoying. Hopefully next time I can request to be further away from the kitchen. We will definitely try it again."

  • "We have been going here for almost 30 years The most disappointing meal we have ever had.Service great as usual. 7:00 PM. out of wine we ordered. food was not cooked properly. sent one back. came back not much better. management offered to fix but then rest of our group was well into meal.general comment from all 4 of us: This was not the Ryans we loved in the past. something has changed. It will be a while before we go back."

  • "Ryans is very consistent. The food and the service is always outstanding."

  • "Good food at an acceptable price and great ambience. Steaks are excellent and cooked to order. Sometimes fish is a little overcooked but this is likely southern preference. Good wine list."

  • "The food was amazing...bacon wrapped scallops, steaks, and an extensive wine list. Great staff and service, and great ambience for a date night!"

  • "I was dining alone so I enjoyed the evening looking out at the woods, reading my book, and ordering several smaller plates rather than a large entrée. It was a pleasant experience. Stephany Sherman"

  • "My rating reflects the food and prices, not the service. My party shared apps ordering baked brie and scallops. Both were tasty, but the brie came with what I assume was blueberry glue. Our house salads were bag-o-salads from Costco. I don't serve premixed salad at home. I don't expect on a $6 plate at Ryan's. My wife's crab cake was OK. My prime strip steak, while not "send it back" bad, was well below its $46 price. It was a bit over done, bland, devoid of seasoning, and tough. Prime beef is full of flavor and tender. It's not a $46 steak. Desserts were excellent. Today, better restaurants have risen to the top of W-S's food chain. Ryan's is over priced and needs a fresh start. Sad. For years it was our favorite for special night."

  • "The service, food, and atmosphere was excellent, except for the carrot cake...it was dry, think it might not have been fresh....My husband ordered the ribeye and he said it was very good, I ordered the scallops and they were delicious!!! This is a very nice restaurant!!!"

  • "20 years ago this is where my partner and mysefl had our first "Fancy" dinner. Ryan's food and service was outstanding. At that time it was very formal and you were paying for the excellent food and the formal service. Ie proper serivng, clearing, crumbing, multiple team staff checking on you. A lot has changed in 20 years, and most of the formatlity is gone. While that formal service isn't there anymore, the prices are. So while the food it was good, even thought my steak was over cooked and I had to send it back, it wasn't any tastier than alot of less expensive restaurants."

  • "This is one of our favorite local restaurants for special dinners or a place to go with special friends. The food is always excellent, the service is great and never rushed allowing us to relax, dine and enjoy the evening. Reservations are recommended but not required, but you may have to wait otherwise. This is not your "everyday" steakhouse, this is a "seasoned by time" local gem of a place. We have been going here for years and it never disappoints us. Good selections of seafood and beef prepared with attention to taste. If you want a buffet, go somewhere else. If you want a delicious meal in a relaxed and warm setting, come here. Also, if there is anything amiss, humans make mistakes, they WILL make it right, no excuses."

  • "Food, service and ambiance were exceptional. The loud and obnoxious older couple who were seated across from us were very distracting and put a damper on the entire evening. If only there were a polite way to ask someone to shut up!"

  • "Very nice for special occasion; waiter was very knowledgeable about wines and suggested the perfect wine to go with my meal."

  • "For the price the food was ok. Menu misleading as Crab Cakes appitizer was actually one crab cake served with potatoes and snow peas like a entree. My wife's fish was incorrectly cooked and had to be sent back. By the time it was done I was nearly done with mine. As an apology the manager offered us cheesecake but when the waiter brought it he handed our food to another diner to look at... Its pretty bad when the best thing about a 150.00 for 2 dinner is the salad! I was there for my 24th Wedding Anniversary. Big Mistake I will not repeat."

  • "We were meeting our college age students and their families and needed a nice reateraunt that we could make a reservation ahead of time for family weekend. It suited our needs and we were very pleased. When I adjusted the reservation to a smaller number they were happy I called. Food was delicious. As for atmosphere I could take it or leave it. It was a pleasant evening in Winson Salem NC."

  • "We were visiting our son for Parent's Weekend at WFU. We had brought his grandfather for the special weekend. We were very pleased with our waitress but apparently the main meal was served a bit slow. We hadn't noticed because we were having such a fun night. They gave us complimentary desserts and it made a good night GREAT!"

  • "We had a lovely dining experience at Ryan's. Everything about it was outstanding. As we were visitors in the area, we were happy to learn in a later conversation with residents of the area that we had chosen the best restaurant in Winston-Salem. In fact we were so pleased with our experience there that we ate there again three days later when we came back through Winston-Salem on our way home."

  • "My husband and I went to Ryan's for the first time for his birthday. We were seated right away. Our server took a little while to attend to us and was then seated with a large party right after us, making it harder for her to get around to all her other tables. However, we did not want for much. The wine was nice, and the food delicious. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner."

  • "I took my college daughter to Ryan's for her first time there. Though we had reservations and there were many tables available, the host tried to seat us, two women, in a corner where my chair was literally surrounded on 3 sides by close brick walls. It was also right next to the kitchen door. Very insulting. I asked to be moved and a young woman came and moved us. The server herself was fine but the kitchen was very slow for a restaurant that was only half full. We waited a long time for our first course and even longer between courses with dirty plates in front of us. The experience was a bit disappointing even though the food was good."

  • "My husband took me to Ryan's for Valentine's Day dinner. We were able to get a reservation the day before thanks to Open Table. I asked for a table by the window, which we got. It was a special occasion and I am happy we were able to spend it there. The food was great (well, we both got steaks and they were slightly dry; had had there many times and that was not the case), service was excellent, and it was a great evening. We were sitting by a group of 10 people, and they did get a little loud, but that isn't Ryan's fault. I would definitely recommend to anyone and will go there again soon I hope."

  • "This is our go-to place for special occasions - birthday, anniversary, out-of-town guests. Hands down the best steak in the city, quailty cuts and perfectly prepared. Seafood is fresh and impeccably prepared. Well informed and professional service, a strong wine list, great "old school" after dinner drink and port choices, and just enough "check ins" from wait staff and host - you truly feel cared for and valued. While you can spend less at some of the other local venues and chains, you are not going to get this food and experience anywhere else in Winston."

  • "We were happy to be able to make a last minute reservation on Valentines Day after driving 11 hours from NY to visit our daughter at Wake Forest. Service couldn't be better and everyone loved their meals. Can't wait to eat here on our next visit!"

  • "Although the food tasted good, the portions were extremely small for the price. Also, although we clearly ordered a NY strip steak, the waiter brought us the much more expensive "prime" NY strip and he also asked my kids "what salad dressing they wanted", even though dinner salads were an extra charge."

  • "Not the first time I had been, but it was the first time for my wife. It was our 20th wedding anniversary. So that in itself should tell you something. When I reserved through OpenTable, I asked for a window seat overlooking the ravine/woods and mentioned it was our anniversary. We were given a nice quiet corner table overlooking the ravine with a view of the walk bridge. The server was attentive, but not constantly coming back to the table. She never interrupted if my wife and I were speaking to each other (very professional). The food was very good (which is expected for this caliber of an establishment) and timely. The server congratulated us on our 20th wedding anniversary (so was prepared) and gave us two cupcakes. Very memorable."

  • "This was a perfect place to bring my parents for their anniversary. The food was simply prepared but delicious and elegant. The service was just right, attentive enough without being overly so. The addition of the choice of smaller portions was a great idea and was plenty. I did not leave hungry. I highly recommend Ryan's for any occasion."

  • "This was our first time dining at Ryans. The service and food was great. All of our steaks were cooked as we ordered. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Compared with other steakhouses, Ryans is somewhat pricey. However, I feel it was worth the extra."
