Appetizers were all top notch - bacon wrapped bacon and chicken pot pie nuggets - creative and great! Had the chicken and waffles for dinner - an unattractive plate that was just bland at best. My husband had the shellfish Shepard's pie which was great. We skipped desert and went to the yogurt place downstairs later."

  • "I love Rick Moonen. As a child, on trips to NY, we would always eat at Molyvos. And I'm a fan of RM Seafood. But this place is well below RM's standards in every aspect. I wanted to chalk up our service to a waitress being in the weeds because of March Madness, but 18 minutes to ask to take a drink order? No. The service and wait times for our food were just way too long. The restaurant wasn't even that full for a Saturday night, so there was really no excuse. Service can make or break you and ours was inattentive and slow. The food was simply not up to RM standards. It needed seasoning and refinement. The only memorable note was the smoked whiskey and coke cocktail. Too many other great places to eat in Vegas..."

  • "We were staying at the Luxor and did an Opentable search for restaurants for our "fancy dinner" on our trip this week. I love themed-places, and Steampunk is so fun! Plus, the servers were very friendly, which was definitely NOT the case in many of the restaurants we visited while in Las Vegas; a great change of pace! Every bit of the food was delicious; I adore shepherd's pie, but never would have guessed someone would make it with seafood! I always enjoy restaurants where we don't have to yell to the people at our own table, too. This meal made us feel like winners!"

  • "This is a lovely restaurant, we went for restaurant week and had the pre-fixe menu. Our fish tacos were a delicious burst of flavor, the organic salad was refreshing. The barramundi was sweet and delicious. The skirt steak had good flavor but was chewy (I ordered mine medium), I guess I should expect that with skirt steak. The tiramisu is to "die for". The apple pie was deconstructed- and not exactly my cup of tea… The cocktails were really fun! We would definitely go back to try the menu items…. or even for fish tacos, drinks and tiramisu!"

  • "The decor, atmosphere and menu were enticing however a slow kitchen and service disappointed. We were there for 2.5 hours and waited over an hour for our food. As a party of 4 who ordered salads this was particularly frustrating. Also, my appetizer came with my entree. Once our food arrived, the team of servers helping us were frequently interrupting our conversation and were intrusive in clearing the table (they literally reached over one of the guests who was eating to clear the plate of the person beside her and bumping her in the process) Overall service was poorly executed, I would not go back."

  • "We came for the Chacuterie Board, a diner adjacent to us highly recommended the shepherd's pie, it was marvelous! The staff was there to help and not hover! They were always there when we needed something, but allowed us the time to chat without interruption. The decor was very interesting, and not the norm. We will return next visit!"

  • "Menu had a few interesting offerings. The chicken pot pie nuggets were great. Just be careful of that first bite, hot liquid inside! The Squid-e-os was an adult version of the classic Spaghetti-os. It is calamari without all the batter. Very tasteful. Others in my group were also pleased with their choices of the Sheperds Pie and tater tots. Friendly staff, good find!"

  • "The unique thing about this restaurant and bar is definitely it's Steam Punk style. If you are into that aesthetic then this is a must-go place. The bar is portrayed as an alchemists shop, the restaurant has exquisite decor, and the waitstaff is dressed to match. I had the 18 hour braised short ribs and they were absolutely delicious and very likely the most tender meat I have ever eaten. Most items are a la carte, so expect to order your sides separately. The overall experience far exceeds it's awkward location at the entrance to the mall inside Mandalay Bay."

  • "So I ordered a weird dish, but I wanted to try something new an edgy which is what I got when I ordered seafood shepard's pie. However, I wouldn't order it a second time nor recommend it. It was neat to try but it wasn't good to me. However, someone else might totally love it; thus I could only give a 3 star review on the food for this visit. The appetizers we had were excellent, as was the service and the steampunk decor was great. I would totally go to RX Boiler Room again."

  • "My boyfriend & I went to the Rx Boiler Room on Valentine's Day. We started off with the Bacon wrapped pork belly, topped with a quail egg w/avocado mouse, along with the Mac N Cheese x 5. Our entrees were the duck breast lettuce wraps & lamb osso buco followed by the pumpkin creme brulee and pie americana. The food was beautifully presented and the taste was a match for the presentation. Everything was balanced and flavorful and the wait staff was impeccable. Highly recommend."

  • "Our food was outstanding and the whiskey cocktail that my husband had was by far the best drink we had during our entire trip to Vegas! We would go there again in a heartbeat...don't let the fact that its not in the actual casino (but sort of in the middle of the shopping area) fool you..the ambiance inside is amazing and the food and the drinks are so worth a visit!"

  • "But it fades in the execution. We very much wanted to love this restaurant- interesting small plates are a welcome change from the steak centric restaurants of Las Vegas. But it didn't start we'll- in a room maybe 1/3 full, we were shown to a table next to the kitchen and we sat side by side, with a view of the walkway to the bathroom. Buffalo oysters seemed like a great item- but excessive breading, zero oyster flavor and a blue cheese disc so cold it was almost frozen ruined the execution. Pickles were great. Kale salad - a little overdressed but nice. However a beefy egg roll with Brussels sprout slaw had zero crunch - the lack of texture really ruined it. The buffalo burger was fine- but sat very lonely on the plate."

  • "We ate at Rx with our 2 kids (11 & 13), all the staff were incredibly friendly, the chef invited myself adn my daughter into the kitchen to look around, Rick Moonen came by to talk to us and at he end of the meal they treated my daughter to an ice cream surprise. It was samples of 20 different ice creams that we had to guess the flavour of. our server was fabulous, she took great care of us, was friendly, had great recommendations and was engaging with our kids. We ate mainly from the starter side of the menu and did the taps thing, all of the dishes were very creative, the flavours were perfectly balanced and all the dishes were excellent. it was also good value for the quality of food and outstanding service I would go back again."

  • "So much fun. The food was great, the ambiance was fabulous, the service was fantastic. Our server, Tyler, was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations--and he also seemed to really enjoy his job, which is always a bonus. The table side-mixed cocktails were delicious, and we adored our personal bartender, but of course I've forgotten her name. You simply must try the "bacon fried bacon" appetizer, even if, like me, that didn't sound appealing at all to you. It is not the greasy salty mess you might expect. It is just a mouthful of wonderful. We enjoyed the cocktails (The Fleur de lis was our favorite) and the appetizers a little more than the entrees, but that is probably due mostly to the fun factor. Will totally go back!"

  • "We were looking for a memorable dining experience on Christmas Eve when our out-of-town relative suggested RX Boiler Room after reading a write-up in their in-flight magazine. Being local, we're usually skeptical of such articles. So glad we deferred to their wishes. Comfort foods such as Chicken Pot Pie, Mac & Cheese and Grilled Cheese sandwiches have been reimagined, tapas style, while the décor evokes Steam Punk. During our visit, there were maybe 7-10 other diners seated and a few singles at the bar. It was a suitably subtle ambience for the occasion. Maybe the old/new mix isn't for everyone, but RX is an interesting concept deserving of a wider audience!"

  • "We made reservations at this new restaurant not knowing what to expect. Since it was at our favorite hotel, THEhotel, it was convenient. It was an excellent choice overall. The waiter, Tyler, was a very nice and helpful guy. He just made us feel comfortable. we started off with a few excellent tequila drinks and decided that we would split a few dishes; kales caesar, tater tots, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts and chicken pot pie bites. The ceasar was off the hook good!! The mac and cheese was prepared with 5 cheeses and was absolutely excellent; creamy, salty, crispy from the bread crumbs and just play delicious! The sprouts were very good too. The tater tots amy have been the best I've had; they are basically mashed potatoes with chives."

The food was familiar ingredients, but a different method of preparing it. Everything was delicious. The waitstaff was attentive but not smothering or pushy."

  • "Had customers to take out. Looking for somewhere different with a trendy ambiance and outstanding food. RX Boiler Room didn't disappoint. The menu is uniquely different with a great mix of food. The quality was fantastic. The seafood Shepard pie was delicious with large pieces of seafood in tasty mashed. And to top it all off probably had the best waitress I have had serve me in a long time. Cute, witty, attentive and knew her stuff. Can't wait to go back."

  • "We took a chance on a new restaurant tonight while in Las Vegas. It was the right thing to do! The food was amazing! Service was the best we had all weekend in town - personable, informative, and attentive to our needs - and rivals some of the best we have ever had. Tyler was our server, just ask for him and you will be taken care of. His recommendations for appetizers - the Bacon wrapped Bacon (yes - pork belly wrapped in bacon, on brioche topped with a quail egg, just order it and thank me later), entree - Shellfish Pot Pie, and desert - cookies and milk were perfect (baked to order and brought to your table still warm and moist). We can't wait to come to town and return again."

  • "We walk but this restaurant every time we come to the Mandalay Bay but have never tried it, well let me tell you that was a lead on our part. We had New Years Eve dinner here and if was wonderful, the drinks are a bit pricy but some are made table side which is a nice and unique feature. I had the filet which was very good and large I ended up shaking it with my mom and we both had plenty to eat. The macaroni and cheese was a definite recommend and the Brussels sprouts were pretty good also. My husband had the lamb osso bucco and it was absolutely to die for he also had the Bay ams goat cheese salad which was very good the cheeses was very creamy and beats were probably some of the sweetest I have ever had. I would defiantly recommend."

  • "Start to finish, everything was top notch, we (4ppl) opted to sit in the dining room as opposed to the bar as we wanted to visit, and it was quiet and private, service was outstanding - Fred took good care of us. I had deep fried Cornish game hen as my main, with tater tots, both unique and creative. My appetizer was a tiny grilled cheese sandwich - very good and just the right amount. Highly recommend."
