It has a well deserved reputation and our waiter was very helpful and attentive. We had filet mignon and lobster tail. It was delicious! My only disappointment was the Lobster bisque soup. The service is impeccable, the view spectacular, the food delicious. We had the ahi tuna for an appetizer. It was better than sushi grade. For entrees we had the salmon and the filet medallions with shrimp. I had leftovers! And sides, delicious too! (creamed spinach, mushrooms, sweet potato casserole, broccoli au gratin and au gratin potatoes. No room for dessert! Food and service are consistently good. One criticism though: Although the server mentioned that, "...our dishes are prepared with salt and pepper," ALL of the food was prepared with an ABUNDANCE of pepper. The steaks, onion rings and shoe string fries were loaded with pepper. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, it was perfect for any occasion. We were there to celebrate an anniversary and they went out of there way to make it special while not overdoing it. A special champagne toast and small table decorations were there to greet us! The porterhouse for two was so yummy, came piping hot and done perfectly. The sides of creamed spinach (their signature dish) and the potatoes au gratin was the perfect combination for the steak. It was so great, the view was beautiful of the city at night. The food was amazing, Lonny our waiter was the best. Also I told them it was his birthday and they set up the table with birthday confetti and a place card thanking him for spending his birthday there.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect...yet again!The crab cake appetizer was delicious and the crabmeat was fresh and plentiful. Her "Sidecar" and my "Hurricane" were some of the best drinks we've had taste-wise and they got the job done. Her caesar salad was fresh and crisp and my lobster bisque had nice chunks of lobster meat sitting on the bottom. Both of our steaks were perfectly cooked. Her lobster tail was beautifully done. The creamed spinach is second to none and the sweet potato casserole is like dessert and saved for the end of the meal. We finished off with a perfectly done Creme Brûlée and two double-espressos, sharing a shot of Frangelico. The food was all incredible and done just right.
Once it hit 8pm-ish the place became filled and energetic and it was a great time.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMy husband and I took hisMy husband and I took his mother to dinner for Mother's day on Saturday evening and we all had a lovely time. Service was friendly and professional, food was very good and we asked for and got a table by the window. My appetizer was the roasted tomato and crab soup which was delicious. My husband had the seared tuna appetizer and enjoyed it very much. And we all agreed that their steaks fully lived up to our expectations. The atmosphere is much enhanced by their position along the Hudson with a view of Manhattan. I have been here a couple times and I can tell the prospective customers (diners) that the main problem with it is the inconsistency of level of service. Every time I've visited this restaurant, I had a different experience. Some were better than others, however this last time was not the greatest. The food, though, is consistent and delicious. Not only did we get the window table, but the table was decorated with sparkly hearts and flutes of champagne arrived. The gentleman was very funny and unique but also very good at what he does. The food was also very exquisite. I had the 12 oz Ribeye and mash potatoes. Both were delicious and I loved the steaming butter on top of my steak. The view of the city was great and added a nice touch to our dinner experience. Definitely recommend this place but when you go make sure to dress business casual. The meat was perfectly cooked and delicious, as were the sides, and the service was very helpful and cordial. The atmosphere with its view of NYC is an added treat.
