Our Uptown Charlotte steakhouse features a warm cherry wood design, luxurious private dining rooms with state of the art audio/visual equipment, 2 exciting Tryon street patios and a vibrant bar scene with the best happy hour in Charlotte.

Our beef is USDA Prime and it is cooked the way Ruth intended it to be, in 1800 degree broilers and served on 500 degree plates. The salads, side dishes and desserts are inspired by Ruth's New Orleans heritage.

  • "I went there for lunch on my birthday last week with a group of friends. I put "30th birthday celebration" in the OpenTable reservation and it was mentioned by a friend to the hostess, but the waitress never acknowledged it, and no customary dessert was offered. Clearly, you don't go eat at Ruth's Chris if you're worried about counting your pennies - it wasn't about the money, but rather that that restaurant failed to meet this very minimal expectation of what happens when you go out to restaurant on your birthday. The waitress also brought me the wrong entree salad, but after waiting half an hour for it, I didn't have time to send it back and wait for a new one."

  • "We visited on the April 2 for my husband's birthday. We dined in the wine room, which was perfect for the two of us. The privacy made for a very romantic evening. Upon our arrival my husband was presented with a birthday card signed by the staff and we were provided a complementary appetizer. My husband ordered the NY Strip and I had Tenderloin Medallions with Scallops. The beef was great and cooked perfectly. The staff was extremely attentive yet, we were given plenty of privacy. Dessert was amazing! We had the cheesecake with berries and Raspberry Sorbet. The flavors mimicked a Creme Brule but with a modern touch. My husband was made to feel very important and the staff truly went above and beyond to make our night special."

Almost ordered a bottle of something else because the wine we specially asked for was not offered by the restaurant per waitress then we found it in the wine selections! Wedge salad disappointing (lettuce hard, unripe) and little blu cheese dressing. Steak good but not outstanding. We have eaten at Ruth Chris across the USA and this was the first less than totally enjoyable experience."

  • "The service was great, the steaks were good, the drinks were a little watery and the wedge salad was vastly disappointing for my date. I guess my expectation when paying over $200 for dinner for two that the salad would have something more than just a couple bacon bits and a glob of blue cheese on a wedge of lettuce was over the top. I have seen wedge salads at other places that had better presentation and taste. The service was great, just need a little more attention to the back of the house."

Used open table during intermission for a late reservation, and the hostess was able to seat us easily when the show ended and we were 30mins early. Food and service were very good, the steak is fantastic. The food was so good, and we were so satisfied, we didn't make a big deal that the appetizer we ordered wasn't brought out or added to our bill. We were fine without it, and didn't even realize until the end of the meal."

  • "We were looking for steak and a great bottle of wine and RC didn't disappoint. The somolier had lots of ecxlent suguestions and they had a very diverse wine list. Our server Dominic was great, knowledgeable about dishes and ingrideients. Very accommodating as I did not want salt butter or too much seasoning on anything. We will definitely be back."

  • "Husband stuck to his nomal steak, salad and au gratin potatoes and was not disappointed. He did choose the ribeye for a change on our latest visit and is still raving about it. Don't miss the beef skewers if they are offering them as an appetizer - delicious! I was less impressed with the shrimp and grits I chose from the special March menu; wish I had tried the gumbo and etouffee. Our server, Marvin was delightful and made our evening special with his friendly and attentive service. Would definitely recommend him."

  • "The steaks were excellently prepared and of high quality. The harvest greens salad was very nice. The sweet potato casserole was the best I have ever had. Our waiter was very attentive, friendly and helpful. Overall, the meal was great, but that's to be expected at Ruth's Chris prices. The lighting was a little bright, and the tables were perhaps a little too close together to enjoy private conversation."

We were held speechless by the sizzle of an attentive and superior wait staff, particularly our head waiter, Marvin. When we arrived we were seated within one drink's time at the bar and despite having a last minute reservation got a lovely table in one of the cozy back rooms. Our servers were friendly and attentive and really made our evening enjoyable. The food as you would expect from this restaurant was top notch but the service was really what left an impression. Phillip and Marisa and the rest of their team that evening made us feel like regulars, even on a busy Saturday night. I can't recommend them highly enough."

  • "I've had better service before. Server forgot to include my dessert in my to go, which I had specifically requested to be boxed up as opposed to being served. I didn't realize until the next day that it wasn't with my other food, so essentially we paid for an item we never received. They gave us a free appetizer, which I suspected had more to do with the fact that they did not have out table ready on time. That, or they forgot that they never sat us, as we arrived about a half hour early for our reservation so that we could enjoy a drink at the bar. We were the ones who had to go back to the hostess stand to inquire. Drinks were great, food was excellent. Just lacking in that extra service. It seems like it's declined from previous years."

I had mentioned on Open Table that I was newly engaged, and it was our first time at Ruth's and I wanted it to be a special experience. When we arrived we were taken all the way to the back of the restaurant, puzzled my fiance gave each other a look that said " Where are they taking us? Are we going to have to sit near a bathroom?" To our surprise we were shown to the dimly and romantically lit wine room with a table for two. It was beyond romantic and such a unique experience. Stuart Greeted us at the table and gave his expert opinion on wine and food for the day. We were given a complimentary taste of Moscato, and at the end of the night dessert."

  • "I didn't enjoy the Ruth Chris experience like I thought I would. The only Moscato they had was not that great and had a twist off cap. .. small but I have never had wine with a twist off cap in a restaurant. The actual food was lackluster, the steak was dry and seemed overcooked. . . I normally dine at another comparable steakhouse which is where I get my comparison from. The waiter was just ok he almost seemed annoyed by the restaurant week patrons and treated the neighboring tables more attentively. I don't feel the need to "try" this experience again."
