We do prefer to be in the main dining area, instead of the dark back rooms. I will remember to request this next time I make reservations. This dinner was was mother's day and my mother's 74th birthday. She loves being able to dress up, eat well, and enjoy the fantastic service. Thanks to the manager who finally stepped in and had appetizers ready for the whole table. "Waiting for a party to leave" versus "we're putting two tables together" were two risk options the hostess didn't seem to grasp. They have mastered service to be attentive but not obnoxious. The food is always good. Our waiter Mike was pleasant and efficient. We enjoyed dining on the outdoor patio. In Phoenix, one has to take advantage of pleasant evenings before it gets too warm to dine outside. We started with the calamari which has a sweet sauce drizzled over it. The Ribeye, my favorite, is so the most flavorful and juicy I have ever had and the side dishes of cream spinach and au grautin potatoes were good as well.
This wasn't my first time here but we receive the same great service every time. We came this particular night to celebrate a birthday and the staff acknowledged it several times which made us and the birthday boy feel very special. This location has mostly the same menu as the others with a few added items. I ordered the seafood combo that was on a special menu and it was delicious. My husband ordered a steak medium and when it arrived it was definitely well done. It was a little disappointing because when going to a steak restaurant you expect the steak to be cooked perfectly. Overall the service was okay but not outstanding, we waited a long time for drink refills. Personally I think there are a lot of great restaurants in Scottsdale so if given the choice I wouldn’t go back to Ruth’s Chris at this location.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcelent Food and worth the cost!My husband and I visited Ruth's Chris to celebrate our 13th anniversary and we were not disapointed. The service was wonderful, our waiter gave us excelent wine pairing advice. The courses moved at the perfect pace. We never had to wait for anything, but at the same time we did not feel rushed. My only compaint is there happened to be a young man there for prom that felt the need to loudly drop the f' bomb multiple times. I understand that this was not the restaurant's fault, but I wish this young man's waiter would have stepped in and asked him to simmer down. Always is and that's what brings people back. I quit going to Ruth's Chris about ten years ago because I thought that their hostess desk was arrogant and unfriendly. I went back after Dale, one of the managers asked me to give them another shot. This time, for the first time in ten years, there was an unfriendly, no-personality hostess at the front desk. Also, the managers passed us about fifty times during our visit and never cracked a smile. There are lots of great steak houses in Scottsdale. A friendly smile goes a long way in retaining customers. Steaks were excellent, except two were ordered medium well and arrived rare. They were sent back and the restaurant was very good about returning them quickly cooked to where they should be. We also ordered a banana cream pie for dessert, but they were out and were going to sub a creme brulee. Instead, they took a little longer, made a new banana cream pie that was OUTSTANDING and took the charge off the bill.
