  • "Our experience was far less than perfect. We were celebrating our son's birthday. He ordered a filet mignon steak and it was served very RARE. It was so blue and so raw that you could almost see the blood. We sent it back, but it's never the same after it's nuked. I think that a restaurant of that caliber and the money that you are paying should be better. We have dined there in the past and it was very good."

  • "I have never been to a Ruth Chris and was not what I expected. It seemed more of a hot spot for locals, business people, and tourist. I went here for our anniversary and didn't feel relaxed, like how we have at other nice restaurants. Strange there was kids everywhere just didn't feel comfy, or like we where being taking care of. When I spend close to 300 for just my boyfriend and myself I would have liked to felt a little more important. The only thing that saved it for me was the steak, both of ours where amazing. Overall from going to higher end restaurants the service didn't match on what we where paying."

  • "Went here for Valentine's Day. Romantic setting as we sat at a window table and had the whole view of San Diego Bay. We both ordered filet from the Ruth's Chris classic menu. The best part was this included the whole meal from appetizer to dessert. Filets were tender and cooked perfectly. The sides were enough to share so I ordered the mashed potatoes and my husband ordered the green bean. Both were excellent. The steakhouse salad was a combination of various lettuce and field greens. Dressings were tasty. Last but not least, service was great. Matt was very attentive and made sure that all went well with our meal. Will go here again as it is one of our favorite places. If you are getting dessert, I recommend the cheesecake."

  • "Great steak as always, a little disappointed in service. Had requested a table near the window as it was our wedding anniversary but were escorted to a table in the back right next to the galley entrance. Asked hostess to relocate us to a better table which she did without argument. Tables were packed in and it seemed that they didn't have enough serve staff as service was not up to usual. A word about the baked potato, it might seem silly but a steak house should be able to prepare a good baked potato. We ordered a baked potato to split, the potato was small and overdone. For $9 at a steak house, I would have expected a nice sized properly prepared baked potato. Did it ruin our dinner? Of course not but we wouldn't order it again."

Our server, Peter, did an outstanding job of taking care of us without being too intrusive. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was warm. Well worth the money."

  • "I went here for valentines night, they were handing out roses to the ladies which I thought was sweet. They also were serving appetizers while we waited to be seated, which were really good. When we were seated we had a very great waitress who was very knowledgeable about the menu. I ordered a filet mignon butterflied and it was so flavorful, along with lobster tails which were also. Delicious and the lobster bisque was awesome. So overall it was great!!!!!"

  • "I have been a regular to Ruth Chris and my last visit was quite disappointing. The steak wasn't prepaid as i ordered it. Half of the steak was done correctly while the other have was over cooked. My partners steak was burnt and had a burnt taste to it. The flavors still were rich but the texture was not satisfying. In addition it was hard to get the attention of the server and didn't check up much on our table. I had to request her to be sent to us for service."

  • "My wife and I have been going to Ruth's Chris for the past 5 years and it never gets old or mundane. This is absolutely one of the best restaurants in the business. We will continue going here for years to come. If you want great food, wonderful ambience, wonderful staffs, and depending on which restaurant you go to, a beautiful view, Ruth's Chris is the place to go. They are expensive, but, hey you want the best you pay for it, and they definately are one of the best and the food and everything else you get is definately worth the price."

We were seated in a corner by a plant next to the walkway, which resulted in everyone entering or exiting this section passed our two person table. My wife ordered a steak medium well, which arrived at our table extra crispy. I ordered a 3 pound lobster that was very chewy. Very disappointed."

  • "Went there during Restaurant Week for the first time. I could've cut the filey mignon with a butter knife! It was 2" thick and cooked to medium rare perfection! I ordered the blue cheese crust on it for the first, but certainly not a last time. SO DELICIOUS! Service was top-notch. For my budget it's pricey, so I doubt I'll go back before next Restaurant Week, but when it comes around again I'm there!"
