It was quite busy-- evidence that a lot of people had a similar (good) idea. The Ruth's Classic was our choice with salad, a petit filet, a side and dessert. Everything was excellent and the steaks superb. If you love steak you can't do better than Ruth's Chris.
The service was first-rate. The wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. This location was among the better restaurants in that chain. The wait staff were patient, thoughtful and pleasant. The steaks were wonderful, as to be expected. The cost of a meal with a prime steak, perfectly cooked to preferred doneness and a nice bottle of wine is a pretty penny. It's definitely worth going to for that special occasion. The service was friendly, attentive and polished. Beef was very good, cooked to order perfectly. The fresh asparagus was from Mexico, rather than fresh from the local Stockton farmers. That surprized us since it is Asparagus Festival season in the area. I guess chains do not buy fresh local, they buy from Mexico. Unfortunately, the asparagus was a little tough. Lobster bisque, very good. The server fulfilled my request for caramelized bananas dessert.Restaurant is not downtown, is about 20 minutes from downtown area. Restaurant is in a shopping center and a little hard to find. The address provided for using GPS didn't help, had to work hard to locate. The focus is on the beef, but the poultry and fish offerings are prepared with the same high standards. The lighter entrees, such as the ravioli, the dinner salads, etc., are an attractive alternative to the heavier choices. The bar offers properly prepared cocktails and the wine list is extensive.
