Alas, on this holiday weekend, Spencer and another favorite, Cornelius, both were off, so we got introduced to Kayleigh who wonderfully kept up the tradition of excellent service. Is there even an "average" person on the waitstaff here?
As always, the food was the tops, although my petite filet unexpectedly was heavily charred in a few places. It still retained its delicious flavor, however, and the baked potato was far more than I could eat. No idea they had an "early bird" prix fixe dinner of $52.95 for steak entrees; $42.95 for chicken, etc, with the same size portions as regular menu. Numerous starter choices, mainly salads/16 oz. filet/potato dishes or green bean casserole/chocolate cheesecake with a sweet cream sauce to die for. We loved everything about this meal, the service, the ambience. An hour-and-a-half down 412 from Tulsa means we will be driving here to get our fix for a grand steak sizzling in butter. Since our first visit a few years ago, one server has always remembered our favorite drinks, foods and even some personal things about us. Spencer not only is the epitome of efficiency and knowledge as a member of the waitstaff, he also extends a warm hospitality that can't be taught or faked.
He had the day off on this visit so, instead, we were treated to the outstanding services of Cornelius. It turned out, however, that Spencer was spending part of his free day at the restaurant and, when he heard we were there, he came over to greet us and catch up on things since our last visit months ago4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent as always.
